What the square piece on the passenger side of the front bumper, in line with the GTI emblem is? The other day I noticed that it appeared to have popped out slightly. I push it back into place, (it snaps into place) but i again noticed today after my commute home it had slightly popped out again. What does this cover and has any experience of it popping out?

View 1 RepliesJust got the 2010 and put 100 miles on it and found the front bumper loose on the passenger side. Difficult to see but it looked loose right by the headlight housing, a little pull and it popped up. Looked like the fastener was never there.
View 14 RepliesI just picked up my new 2011 last night. Noticed today it looks like the corner of the rear bumper on the passenger side is not flush with the car and seems loose. Its not to noticeable but when compared with the driver side there is definitely a difference.
View 10 RepliesThe pasenger side trim piece that covers the A-pillar air bag in my 07 XLE will not stay in place. It becomes loose and you notice a gap at the top. You can smack it back in place and it appears to snap back in to where it belongs, but 15 minutes of driving and it comes loose again. I have replaced the clip (part number 90950-A8001) that holds it in, but it still just comes loose again a short time later.

View 9 RepliesThis afternoon I was out for a drive and on my way home on the highway I had something give on the front passenger side suspension.
There was an "odd" feeling from the steering and then some noises from the passenger side front of the car. As I was slowing down there was more clunking/shuddering as I came to a stop. After stopping I looked at the wheel and noticed it looked "further" out, and had more give when pushing it than it should have.
I then tried to pull the car further off the road and discovered that it would not go into gear to move at all!

You can see above how the strap pulled on the tire, I tried loosening the strap on it up but it was still under tension.
So I'm pulling the front control arms on my car and was wondering how to pull the front bolt out of the passenger side control arm and if it is doable without dropping the sub-frame. The bolt has like no clearance between the oil pan and the front edge of the sub-frame.
View 3 RepliesChasing a noise in the front, seems to be more on the passenger side, and I think I have it narrowed down to the link ends or subframe. I have ST coil overs, came on the car, and already did the 034 mounts and bearings to solve another noise but this one is different. The links are original and I saw some performance ones that are a bit shorter for a slightly lowered car. Should it have shorter ones due to the coil overs?
View 5 RepliesThe front passenger side is making a clicking noise when it drives and turns. It started earlier today, but it went away and then it started happening again when I got home. i am guessing its my axle ( the axle was rebuild). My dad took it for a ride and said its not the axle and that something is loose. but that's his opinion he is not a mechanic I have fk coilovers and I had all the bushing replaced. I doubt its my suspension I just installed it about 2 months ago.
View 3 RepliesI've got a "clunk" in my front passenger side suspension. I'm running stock struts with H&R sport springs that I put in about 10,000-15,000kms ago. The clunk is inconsistent and seems to only happen in the parking lot when I'm backing out of a stall. When I pull forward, I get a couple clunks coming from that side? Could this be tie-rod?
View 17 RepliesJust put on new wheels 19x8.5 all around on 235/35/19s. Figured to have no issues, not super low or anything. Passenger side front tire is rubbing on the inside well pretty good. Not on fenders as far as I can tell, just the actual inside of the wheel well. Fender liner is already out on that side as well. Not a thing on drivers side though, and the liner is still in. Thinking maybe just need an alignment.
View 4 RepliesSo I just jacked up my car to check out how bad the bushings are on the control arms and the tire rod. They're bad. So I'm going to get the suspension stage 1 refresh kit from ECS.
Well I went to spin the passenger side wheel and I noticed that I can tilt it back and forth slightly, I checked the other side and couldn't do the same thing. I just got both wheel bearings replaced by a shop and I'm hoping its not the hub. This is just a CV joint or bushings or if it's actually the hub???
How do you get the front lower control arm bolt off of the passenger side? There isn't even enough room to get a short socket between the bolt and the oil pan...
I imagine I can get it off with a box wrench and some sweat. But then how do you torque it putting it back on? Crows foot?
So I washed my car today.. was wiping it a little and noticed that the right side of front bumper was loose.. then a closer inspection showed that I can lift it! I didn't collide into anything whatsoever, maybe from speed bumps or potholes?

My 2 door tdi is about 3 months old now. its whisper quiet in the cabin with the exception of this one rattle coming from somewhere on the front passenger seat area.
I've removed everything from the cabin to make sure something wasn't rubbing against anything but the rattle is still there. the odd thing is is that I cant seem to exactly isolate where its coming from.
I've knocked on the door panel, glovebox area and everywhere else i can think of and I cant reproduce it unless the car is driving. Where it was coming from?
So was driving home from work today and was fairly close to home waiting at a light. Light turns green and I start to move forward (going up a moderate hill). I shift into 2nd and all of the sudden I hear a loud, metallic "rat-tat-tat" coming from somewhere around the passenger side front area of the car. Almost like a snare drum but more metallic sounding. Then this is followed by what sounds like a second or two of metal-on-metal type grinding noise. Don't feel much of anything, maybe a slight shudder. Then it seemed fine.
I was only about two blocks from home and it was driving okay so I continued on home. No warning indicators of any kind on the dash. When I got home I looked in the engine compartment and under the car for any signs of something obvious being broken. Nothing. I haven't driven the car since but I'm worried about what might transpire in the morning. It's even possible that it was one of the cars next to me and I was hearing the sound from their coming nightmare echoing off of the buildings to my right. But, it seemed like it was coming from my car, and that metallic popping sound has me very nervous. But as I said I drove it a few blocks after this and it seemed fine.
I am replacing my front passenger side door on my 2000 Jetta GLX. I have been searching online for detailed instructions on how to do this, but have turned up empty handed.
