The MFD did the 500 mile service countdown and now just says service now, to get this cleared do I need someone with a Vag-Com to clear it? is there some trick or will it go away automatically.
View 4 RepliesThe service light for the oil change came on this weekend. The car only has 2996 miles on it. The manual calls for the oil change at 5000 miles. My Touareg doesn't do this. Is this tied in to how you drive or is something wrong?
View 6 Repliesmy wife's 05 Tahoe started acting up by showing "service 4wd" on the way to church - then on the way to taking the kids to school this morning it showed "stability sys disabled." I have read some other forms and they are all over the place on what to do or where to start. what they are saying is true --- the car acts sluggish and seemed like it switched into 4wd. Where to start?? a sensor ?? some said the encoder motor?? even the 4wd on the dash being replaced??
View 6 RepliesA few weeks ago, my 1993 S-10 began showing the service engine light sporadically over a couple of weeks. Then, while I was stopped and idling at a red light, the engine revved up really high suddenly for no reason. A few days later, as the automatic shifted from 2nd to 3rd it jerked a little, as if I'd tapped the brakes or something.Around the time all this was going on, I heard something on Car Talk about the radiator and transmission being linked somehow. I checked my radiator, and sure enough the coolant was very cloudy and kinda sandy. I flushed the coolant and refilled and all the weird little transmission quirks seemed to vanish after that. Until yesterday, when the symptoms started appearing again.

View 5 RepliesI put 30dlls but when it was going on 24$ pump stopped, and I insisted on getting 25$ so I put another dollar but tank was filled cause the gun stopped again , then I go with the filled tank 2 days ago, I have traveled 110 miles and the cluster keep showing full gas bars, not even one bar has gone, I'm worried about misleading info about gas, is this normal,, maybe tomorrow it start dropping ,,if not it can be reset? Or I screwed the tank sensor or something? There's a way to reset gas reading? btw 55.4 mpg on those 110 last traveled miles,

Car is at 18K miles and change, I had it serviced at all the factory intervals sticker on my windshield (from VW dealer) says next service at 20,345 so it looks like VW is on a 5K interval and my computer is looking for something else. Should I ignore the nagging until the proper service interval or take it to the dealer, then I can bug them about the laggy gearbox and other niggles ...
I have a 2010 corolla le with approx 54k miles. Should I have the trans serviced/flushed? Can I just do a drain and refill? Is it true that replacing the fluid will cause the trans to fail later on?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 F-250 Super Duty 6.0 4WD that has about 202,000 miles on it. I bought the truck with 83,000 miles on it and have never serviced the Torqueshift 5R110W Hi-Torque transmission. No new filters, no new fluid. In the interest of gettting the most life out of the truck I am trying to be a bit more proactive with maintenance. Does a flush/power purge will precipitate transmission problems? I am even concerned that dropping the pan and changing the filters and topping off fluid may cause problems. There are no problems presently and the dealership can't tell me that the've ever performed a transmission service for the previous owner via OASIS. Can I get away with a filter change and fluid top-off at a decent interval without incurring a condition that will require the transmission to be pulled and rebuilt?

This will happen just driving down the road or just after starting the truck and taking off.
It has happened towing my work trailer and also not having the trailer connected to the truck.
Yesterday had 5000 miles/6 months service performed on 2015 3500 miles AWD RX-350. Right after leaving the dealer felt that steering wheel is too light. After some driving it returned to normal, but with very light shimmer during driving (40-50 ml/h) and stops . Today was backing up from garage and shaking was much more noticeable when reversed and parked, also it was some kind of (I think) engine roar. After that drove almost 30 miles with some steering wheel light shimmering, but no other issues.
Is it normal car behavior, and I'm just paranoid ? Or, if there is a potential problem, what could trigger it, and how it could be resolved?
I just bought a used 2004 F-350, 4x4, crew cab, short bed, 6.0L diesel. I'm having a WTF moment on fuel. Gage indicates just under 1/4 of a tank of diesel but the on-board computer is flashing like crazy stating 5 miles to empty, what the hell is that all about?
View 1 RepliesI had my transmission fluid changed because it was leaking from the pan. I did the job myself but called VW to confirm how much fluid I needed. They told me the wrong amount but we realized that after we did the job.. they did the repair for a huge discount and I only paid $200 bucks for the work for them to "fix" what they messed up. Volkswagen did it and I got the car serviced at the end of April basically. now its the first week of July and under 90 days since the car was service and now it is shifting hard between 2nd and 3rd gear or 35 miles to 45 miles per hour. The car isn't throwing a transmission code I have a vag com and there is no code coming up on that.

It seems that the breaks are not contacting evenly on this side.

Now after watching lots of video on youtube, I noticed that mine do not show on the bottom right of the dashboard the selected gear like other do.
Is this an option that i should enable or what?
