View 9 RepliesChecked the bulbs, checked the connection....What is going on here. Is there a switch in the transmission or some crap that must have gone bad?
In good news. I have my rear fogs wired so that both sides work. ...the reverse lights stopped working like a week ago. So a crap rear fog install is not to blame.
My reverse lights aren't working. I assume the trunk cable assembly is fine, as all my trunk opening and latching works and there is no viable damage to the cable. I figured the bulbs were burned out but I pulled the trunk liner today and at least one of the bulbs looks intact. I don't see any fuse listed for reverse lights.
View 2 RepliesMy PRND123 isn't working on my 03 Montana. I replaced the neutral safety switch still no go. The reverse lights come on. When shifted out of park the doors lock and when put back in park they unlock. I checked some fuse the are for the nss and there good. Any wiring diagram for it?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2004 Prius, with both the brake and reverse lights not working (right & left). Already replaced all bulbs and checked fuse...No luck.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2008 Camry 4 LE. My turn blinkers and reverse lights have stopped working and i'm 90% its a bad relay. I have checked all fuses and they are good. I just have a problem locating the relay. I think i saw it right above the fuse box under the dash in the driver side but i'm not 100% sure.
View 11 RepliesI recently noticed that both reverse lights on my wife's 2010 Santa Fe are dead.
It's odd that both bulbs would burn out at the same time. So I checked them and they're both good. The bulbs are not burnt out.
What should I check next?
I looked up the fuses in the owner manual, checked those, and everything looks good there. There is a relay as well. I swapped that with a similar relay in the fuse box, but that made no difference either.
I suspect it's the reverse switch on the transmission. Ours is a manual transmission. How to locate and access that reverse switch?
My reverse lights do not work and it is not due to the bulbs. Guy at autozone said it is the neutral safety switch. Does this sound correct? And I have done work on my truck myself, is this a difficult fix?
View 6 RepliesI have checked the fuse number 38 and it's fine, and I've also checked the bulbs and they look good. Where else do I look to check for problems with my reverse lights not working? I just had my transmission rebuilt, and wondering if a sensor or something went bad?
View 1 RepliesI have an automatic 5.4L (L code) 2000 Ford F-150 and I am having problems with the reverse lights not working when I place the transmission in reverse. Fuse #5 in the passenger compartment fuse panel is good and both reverse lamps are good as well. I have also metered the LB/PK input wire at DTR sensor and it is reading 12 volts when the ignition is in the on position. I have also the metered the BK/PK wire output wire at the DTR and this wire also reads 12 volts when I place the transmission in reverse. I have checked continuity from the BK/PK wire at DTR to the BK/PK wire at the reverse lamp socket and I do not have continuity. I then ran a fused jumper wire from the BK/PK wire directly to the BK/PK wire at the reverse lamp socket and the lamps will light up when I place the transmission in reverse and will also turn off when the transmission is placed back in park. So it seems that the DTR is not defective. I'm not sure what else to check. Obviously the BK/PK circuit is open at some point between the DTR and the reverse lamp socket, but I'm wondering if there is something else that I need to check. The vehicle is also equipped with a factory trailer tow package
View 3 RepliesBrake and Revers lights not working on 1999 Toyota Corolla? I have checked fuses and wire connections with no results. My brake and reverse lights just stopped working yesterday and I don't know what else to check.
View 1 RepliesIf there is a fuse...or a switch that could have went bad ( and if fuse which fuse box )...
View 1 RepliesI (or rather my dad) have a 2007 avalon limited. I'm trying to install a backup camera for him. I don't know if it's something I did now but I see the outer reverse lights (on the car body, rather than trunk lid) don't come on as they should. Also any tips to install the video interface and/or camera are extremely welcome - it can never be too basic!
View 11 RepliesMy taillights, reverse lights and brake lights all stopped working! What the problem is. The fuses are fine and the bulbs are good too. How to fix this or what I should look for to try to fix it?
View 1 RepliesI've got an '04 Passat and I'm having trouble with the back-up lights. The fuse was blown (which I replaced), and I just finished swapping out the bulbs. Only one of the bulbs looked burned out.
The lights are still not working, although I get a very faint glow from the left side when in reverse. I'm really puzzled that I'd get a faint light from just one side.
1999 E-350 Super Duty (figured the problem would be the same for van/truck)
Problem: Backup lights don't turn on when in reverse.
Diagnosis: Changed the fused (because it was bad) but didn't fix it. The bulbs are both good. Brake lights, turn signals all work. I understand the backup lights are connected to the Neutral Sensor Switch. To test to see if the NSS was working, I put the van in Reverse and cranked... Van didn't crank (and likewise for D, 1-3).
So I guess the Neutral Sensor Switch works. The fuse works. The bulbs are good. Haynes doesn't have much as far as troubleshooting for this issue. What should I look at from here?
Bought car(2008 r32) from US brought to Canada the dealership activated my DRL which are xenons and also low beams.High beams are same xenons but use shutter .Other two lights are inactive .Did the dealership screw up on the VAG COM??Dont think this is normal. Are the two other lights the inactive ones xenon also? How do I fix? What is normal?
View 11 RepliesI realize that this has been covered before in some capacity, but I can't find anything beyond replacing the back-up light switch. I've checked the bulbs (both are fine), the fuse, and have replaced the switch on the transmission. it did nothing to fix my problem.
View 7 RepliesThe reverse light has stopped working on my MKIV TDi. Done all the usual things I can like bulbs/fuses.
View 2 RepliesSpecifically only from 1st to 2nd. I'm kinda knew at this kinda stuff and just started school so I haven't gotten to this part of knowledge. Looking for a solution I've heard two possibilities. For a GTI 12v vr6.
View 1 RepliesSo I completed the install of the OEM reverse camera with ECS wiring harness. I followed the wiring diagram, tapped into power at the back of the head unit according to this thread but nothing works. Neither the hatch lever nor the camera. I have to open the hatch manually from the inside.
I double checked the wiring diagram and everything is correct. I also plugged the old hatch wiring harness directly into the new camera by bypassing the ECS harness, and afterwards the hatch lever actually works... however, with the wiring harness installed, with the old hatch wiring harness inserted into the ECS wiring harness, the hatch lever does nothing.
Does the handle need power to function?
Did I tap into the wrong location for power? I was going to use a fuse tap, but couldn't get the fuse tap to plug in so I used the head unit. Where did people tap into for power? Did people use the red/white wire at the back of the head unit? I redid the connection with a simple twist joiner but things still don't work.... I also ran a new power line through the car to see if that would solve things. So is my problem:
1. faulty wiring harness
2. improper power supply
3. faulty camera unit
4. other.
