Is it possible to retrofit the Bi-Xenon headlamps onto a Halogen-equipped model? think i finally found the exact car i'm looking for. One has everything i want, but it's halogen, the other has bi-xenon but missing a couple things in the "want" list.Would much prefer the first one, if the bi-xenon can be easily retrofitted.
View 24 RepliesI just lowered my car with H&R springs and I did the flash to pass vagcom change. When the car is still and I turn on the high beams or flash it, everything is fine. Is when I start moving, and then put the highbeams or flash it when the xenons starts flickering mimicking a strobe light and is giving me an error message on the display, right or left beam dipped error.
View 3 RepliesMy AFS Xenons seem to shake / jiggle over bumps. Yes, it's the lights jiggling and not the car. It's really annoying. Is it due to the AFS mechanism? Essentially the bulb floats for AFS purposes and does not have any real hard mount to the frame? My previous car had xenon's that were rock solid.

My car: 10 GOLF TDI 6MT
I put key in, turn it half way to everything comes on, clutch in cause its always parked in gear w/ hand brake on
so clutch in, I turn the key car starts up, as soon as i drop the hand brake lights come on, and they used to do:
LIGHT UP
Level Down
then would go out in opposite directions
then Level back UP to normal position.
Well today i noticed and just confirmed again when moving car after a wash, that my lights now:
Light UP,
Level Down
Level back UP,
it now skips above middle step
Why's that?
I'm looking for pictures of the front xenon headlights with white direction indicators and the way how to do this modification .

Bought car(2008 r32) from US brought to Canada the dealership activated my DRL which are xenons and also low beams.High beams are same xenons but use shutter .Other two lights are inactive .Did the dealership screw up on the VAG COM??Dont think this is normal.Are the two other lights the inactive ones xenon also?How do I fix?What is normal?
View 11 RepliesMy bi-xenons are too low as delivered and I need to move them up. I've spent several hours reading through the numerous posts here regarding this, but they seem to be split as to whether this should be done manually with the screws under the hood, or electronically with the VAG-COM.
I have a VAG-COM, and where to find a setting for this given that the 55 module isn't active on the Touareg. I messed with the screws, and while that did raise the headlights, I'm afraid I might be compromising the auto-leveling feature of the xenons...
Having trouble finding h7 xenon bulbs anymore. Most say discontinued and the ebay crap burns out right away.

View 11 RepliesI cannot turn off the Xenon head lights in my early 04. I have the DRL option on. If you open the door, turn the key on for the radio, just want to jump start another car, etc. - always on.
View 7 RepliesI've searched many threads looking for a successful conversion of someone buying the OEM assembly including balasts and bulbs, housing, but nothing really shows if it's possible. I've only heard noise that either you can do it by buying silly aftermarket kits, etc. I've done the OEM change in my MKIV GTI before, but the T-reg is different and not sure it's plug and play. I found the complete assembly online with HID lamps 1st vw parts. They price each side at around $390 each. BUT my question is will they plug in and work? I have the VAG-COM so programming the car is not a problem. I've heard that I'd need a controller, but not sure if that's the case or not.
View 9 RepliesLast night I have noticed that my Bi-xenon are not working. I check fuses and both fuse 15 AMP were melted. I don't what happened but after I have replaced fuse still no light at all. BTW I'm thinking to replace ATF in my tranny. I did check post history and I couldn't find any post about this,
View 3 RepliesOk, so I pull into the garage tonite and it looks like the headlight is out (Passenger Xenon), I check. Yup. So, I turn the lights off and on and she comes back. Now, I have heard there is problems with the ignitor/etc with these lights. I am at 34,000 miles on the car. Is this covered under warranty or should I just make do with it. I suspect this has happened before as I had my coworker tell me my light was out before.
View 4 RepliesI recently lowered one of my client's 2008 passat and since then the xeon headlamps are pointing way too low. I did the manual adjustment with the allen key screws but I'm at the maximum on the adjustment so I'm sure there is a way to compensate with recoding the motor. I have VagCom but I can't seem to do a recode. What is the procedure?

Do all HID low beam headlights have Xenon in them? Can you buy an HID bulb with no Xenon? Does it matter for my car? I read in some places HID and Xenon go together then I read elsewhere you can buy HID bulbs with no Xenon?
I recently changed out my headlight bulbs and now the headlights are slightly out of alignment. I know that the Xenon-equipped Tregs have self-leveling headlights, but mine is the non-Xenon model.
How do I go about aligning the headlights? I did a search and found a thread in the Passat forum, referring to "2 white screws", but don't recall seeing anything similar under my hood.
My left headlight stopped working..
00978 - Lamp for Low Beam; Left (M29)
010 - Open or Short to Plus
and xenon range..
01328 - Convenience System Data Bus
013 - Check DTC Memory - MIL ON
Noticed either one or both headlights flickering when accelerating?My dealer replaced the bulbs, but the problem is still occurring. It's not just me as I was followed by a Phaeton in London with the exact same problem!

The problem I have is the access cover to the bulb cant be removed so I need to know if the bumper and lamps need to be removed?
