Golf/GTI VI :: Radio Starts Autoplaying Every Time Turn On The Car

I have my disc changer loaded, but each time I get into the car, the vehicle starts playing the last disc that was playing - even if I had another input selected.
I usually run music/waze through my iPhone during my commute, but when I get back into the car to go home, boom: music from disc starts blaring.
Is there a fix? I've looked through the menus and haven't found anything about CDs autoplaying. The easiest fix is probably going to be just to remove all of my CDs, but I was just curious if I was overlooking something.

Every time I turn on the radio, or even change the volume, it starts to play a random song in iTunes from my Bluetooth paired iphone. Even if I stop it, and close the app in my phone, if I alter any input on the radio, it begins to play the song on it's own. I've tried to alter settings in the phone (nothing actually applies) and I can't seem to find anything other than disconnecting the phone that will stop it. I do want to have both the phone and music usable..any hints?

Had my 2015 GTI for two months now and I've been experiencing so minor issues with my stereo. Sometimes when I start the car it will reset the radio to 87.7FM which is completely static and not an actual radio station does it completely at random. Second issue that I've had is when my Ipod is plugged in it won't allow me to change the song, either from the screen or from the steering wheel. The only way to get it to work again is pulling over and restarting the car.

I am back in a GTI, after totaling my MK4 a year ago, and I just got my new '13 Autobahn, and I have already noticed that the satellite and radio signals go in and out all the time.
Is this a common issue, or is there a fix for it?

I own 2013 Mk6 GTI. I am having to over crank the engine for a period of 8 seconds or so before the car starts, especially after it has been sitting for a few hours. My thought was a faulty check valve in the fuel pump. I have heard that our fuel filter has a built in pressure regulator that may get stuck open for whatever reason and that may also cause a long crank time.

Had to replaced the fuel pump on the R. Car started fine on initial start after completing the job.. Now every time I get in to start, it wont start on initial turn of key, it always starts on second try. The car is apr chipped, with no other mods. it will occasionally start on the first key turn.

Drove the R32 last night for the first time in about a week with no problems, so I figured I would drive it to work today since the roads are still clear.
Got to work, car shuts off like normal. No problems. Drove over to our other facility, turn off the ignition, and the radio stays on when I take the key out. Open the door, radio still stays on and I get the door ajar chime. Close door, start car again, drive around the parking lot, turn car off, same thing. Also, the key fob now has no function at all. I can't lock or unlock the car.
Should I just call a dealer/mechanic? This wouldn't be a huge issue if the car was at home, but it's currently sitting outside, unlocked, in downtown Detroit, and I really don't want the battery to die.

So according to the manual that comes with the car, "ESC is switched on all the time." There are only instructions for turning off traction control.
Why Electronic Stability Control sucks: "Then there is the ESP. I don't even plan on bringing this car to the track until this is resolved. Last thing I need is the car thinking it needs to pull my throttle or apply the brakes because it thinks I'm 'out of control.' That is just an accident waiting to happen."
So how to turn off stability control yet? I'm kind of hoping APR (or any other tuner) would include some sort of flash with their tune that makes the 'ESP OFF' button also disable stability control (and not just traction control).
These guys disabled ESP by pulling a fuse. the only problem is that it also disables ABS and a couple lights : [URL] ....

My golf, made in 2008 (1.6 FSI, petrol), has a tricky problem now. When I turn on its engine for the first time in the morning, its RPM goes over 10 (12~13) with louder sound than normal. So I turn it off and on again, and then everything becomes immediately fine: RPM is below 10 and the sound is just fine. After that, the problem does not happen again all day. But it happens in the next morning when I turn on the engine for the first time in the day!!

I have a 2000 Jetta TDI, with an aftermarket radio, which was professionally installed about 3 years ago. never given me problems till recent.
After driving i turn off car and all is normal, except frequently i can come back within an hour or two and find that the radio illumination is on, and that i can no longer turn the radio on (with or without key turned on). i also cannot turn off the radio. i say turn off because while it is in this odd mode i can plug in my iphone and it will charge and play music as if through headphones, it is also powering up my amp while in this mode. If i pull fuse 42 it resets and all is good.
I have not noticed any problems while driving or when radio is ON normal
I have swapped out the radio with another identical radio and it is still doing the exact same thing.

I picked up my 2016 GTI S 4dr manual on Saturday. (Pics to come later)
When I turn off the car, I hear an electric motor start. The sound is coming from the engine area. I haven't had the car long enough to stick around and find out how long it runs.
What this motor is doing? The only possible thing I could think of is running an oil pump for a few moments to get cooler oil over the turbo.

I'm at 47000 miles. Out of no where the fan began to run and its been running most of the time when i turn on the engine.
There's no CEL, engine temp gauge is normal at 200. Coolant levels above MIN.
What might be triggering the fans to go on? I'm suspecting it might be coolant thermostat sensor.

So, I decided to re-code the car such that the radio does not shut off when I turn off the engine (KESSY) but rather when I open the door to get out. It's accomplished by recording the instrument cluster to think it's a UK cluster. Well, when I did that the area that usually displays the outside temp is displaying my speed in KPH. I changed the coding back to US and it didn't work. The temp is displayed if I choose to have the car stats displayed like miles till empty and such but that's not usually what I have displayed. Funnily enough, I do like knowing what the outside temp is.

Just bought a new R with the premium sound system and can't figure out how to disable the lame satellite radio. I am fortunate that Seattle has great local radio stations but have had to listen to BS satellite radio or my IPhone. I tried to follow the useless manual instructions to no avail. How to shut it off and enable real radio stations?
Also I am wondering what upgrades people have done on their stereo systems? The system sounds OK but having worked in a car stereo shop in the past I am a bit picky. What brand the stock speakers are and what brand and size aftermarket can be installed without weilding a nibbler or jig saw? Does the stock radio have RCA or other low power outputs to run an external Amp?

Just curious about the Premium VIII touchscreen radio. Is it possible to turn off the screen? I don't mean simply make it blank, as the backlight on LCDs still makes a lot of light at night. Can you actually turn it off yet still play your tunes?

I am having come from owning a stream of Hondas and Toyotas where one could separately turn off radio whilst using navigation, I was wondering if there was something similar for the Discover Pro system with Navigation on my GTI. Is turning the volume knob all the way down the only way to mute? I know that the non-navi Discover Pro systems have a convenient Mute button where the Navi button normally is for the systems equipped with navigation. I feel like there would be a simple solution for such a simple task.....

When I go to turn my car on, I have to give it 3 or 4 tries. The try before it actually turns on goes like this: turn key, engine sounds like it wants to turn, almost starts for a split second, and then shuts off. After this I can usually turn it on.
Usually the rpm's would be around 1.3k on a cold start, but when I finally get it to start it automatically dips below 1k. Then when I go to drive it, it feels like it wants to shut off on that first throttle push. It started with just an issue in cold weather, but has gotten progressively worse. Battery is only a few months old.

I have been having some electrical problems lately that seem to be getting worse. For the past few months sometimes when i hit a bump or pothole my radio would shut off and then turn back on. Well I never got around to looking at it cause i would forget about it until it did it again. so just a couple of days ago im coming into my driveway, hit the bump, and my car shuts off. Not like a stall, just no electricity. I was thinking i need a new battery because my lights flicker and dim when i hit my window button, or when I am just sitting at a light, sometimes my dash lights will flicker. But now I am thinking maybe I have a bad ground or something.

Over the past year we have been noticing that the HVAC blower doesn't turn on from time to time. All settings in the control panel seem normal and the fan speed is turned on. Most of the time everything is working normally, sometimes when the car starts the blower isn't working and then starts after a minute of driving. Sometimes I notice the blower isn't working and I turn up the fan speed and after a few clicks it starts working normally for the remainder of the drive. And then sometimes the blower doesn't ever start and I need to turn off and restart the car a few times. When the blower hasn't been working the a/c compressor has been turning on, something in the blower circuit is failing.
There are five possibilities:
The HVAC controller isn't telling the blower to turn on
The power relay isn't always working
There is a wiring or connection problem
The blower motor itself isn't working
The power mosfet is failing.
What needed to be replaced?

I have a 2001 Volvo S60 2.4T. I have problems when starting the car, sometimes it starts instantly, but most of the times I have to try 5 or 6 times for it to start. I took it to many shops but non of them could find the problem.
Some said that it was the problem with the clutch position sensor, I replaced that but still it was the same.
