I turned on my car and for some reason the radio unit isn't displaying anything. I can see the backlight come on, but there's no text. I can still switch between BT, CD, XM, radio, etc. but nothing is displayed. This is not a nav or touchscreen unit, just the one that comes on the base model.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2015 SportWagen S (Same radio as the Golf. This forum gets more traffic) and I had a few questions about the radio that I keep finding differing answers on. I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 9. I'm disappointed that the contact pictures don't work, but it seems that's an iPhone thing. I'm a little more disappointed that the album art doesn't work with my iPod connected with the MDI cable. I found some stuff about the file extension or size being the issue, but no definitive answers. Am I doing something wrong? I can't understand how VW could design a radio that doesn't work with what is overwhelmingly the most popular media player in the world. otherwise the radio is pretty impressive. Leaps and bounds above the one in my old '14 GLI. I only wish I could have gotten the '16 with CarPlay, but the '15 was a much better deal.
View 23 RepliesI have 2014 0.5 Camry with Entune Premium Audio with Nav & App Suite. The radio will not display any info from the station I'm listening to, other than the station number. I know that not all stations provide that info in their streams, but I've never found one that will show the song name, artist, etc., although the music sounds fine. Is there a fix for this?

Looking at the face of your GM Delco radio, hold down the preset buttons 1 & 4 OR 2 & 3 (Depending on year and model) for approximately 10 seconds or until a set of 2 or 3 numbers comes up on the display. Write the numbers down. But the radio continues to display 'LOCKED', and no numbers appear.
Man one day my steering wheel buttons stopped displaying the hologramthing and my trip and display buttons do not work. The weird thing is all my other buttons work fine just no display on dash when presse. This caused my display to get stuck on the prius picture and the odometer instead of my mpg and trip.
View 8 RepliesLast week, our 2004 Camry's dash stopped displaying information - fuel gauge / speed / etc. two nights ago, I reseated a number of fuses, and it worked for a while, but stopped working again yesterday. All the fuses looked intact, even though some of the contacts were a little gunky. I cleaned them off, but it continues not to work.
Additionally, after reseating a number of fuses, I get 5 quick beeps when turning off the car, which may be coming from our aftermarket radio.
I read on another site last night to disconnect the battery, and that may reset the computer, and relight the dash. I did that, it didn't fix the problem, and afterwards when I started the car the idle was so slow the car wouldn't even stay running. After about 20 minutes, the idle was still very low, but the car would run. When I checked it this morning, it was idling fine, but the dash still wasn't lighting up.
The seatbelt lights and gear light up ok, but nothing else on the dash works. Battery, alternator, dash? What does this sound like?
my third brake light, hatch wiper and fluid stuff all don't work. can't really tell if defrost works either but considering the amount of damage they probably don't. there was a hole in one of the grommets leading into the hatch on my gti and they all got wet and damaged. It looks like I barely even have enough room to cut out the damage and be able to replace it with new wiring. is there any kind of product where I could just replace an entire section or no
View 1 RepliesSo I started my car today and when I got back in it about 5 minutes later I could smell gas, faintly, but it was undeniable. I ran my vin through vw's recall system and came up empty. I'm going to get it checked out on Monday.
Also on my way home from dinner my radio stopped producing sound. When I tried turning the volume up the volume bar wouldn't move. I was on xm radio at the time and I switched to fm and am with no difference. Then I switched to my sd card. I was able to select a song but it wouldn't load on the main screen. I turned my car off and nothing changed. I tried using my phone and that worked, but after, the radio still wouldn't work. Then about 5 minutes later it started working again. So weird.
I saw that other people had problems with their stereo but it didn't seem the same.
Yesterday (3/28/12) my Radio Data System (RDS) feed suddenly stopped working on one of the radio stations I listen to on my car radio. Until it stopped, it identified the title and artist of the song I was listening to as well as the station. It still worked on other radio stations, and it worked on other radio stations this morning (3/29/12). Then the RDS feed suddenly stopped working on every station, and now no RDS information appears on my car radio screen at all. What could have possibly happened?

View 11 RepliesYesterday morning my wife's JSW TDI wouldn't stay on after starting it. The screen kept displaying, "Key not in range". I swapped keys and every one of them did the same thing. It doesn't have keyless start, so it's not that. It would start then shut off like an immobilizer issue. I disconnected the battery terminal and reconnected it and that fixed it...for now. I did some research and everything I've found said the cluster needs replaced. I made a video of the display and the car shutting down.
View 2 RepliesI picked up my GTI a few weeks ago and have been travelling a lot. I noticed that the HVAC units are displaying in C instead of F. I checked all other settings and they are correct. I even called VW Car-Net and they suggested a reset procedure which did not work.
View 5 RepliesEver since I've been using my SD card to play music, I have been getting an intermittent error that reads something like "Error reading SD Card" (I can't recall the exact wording). It seems to happen randomly, and sometimes I have to take out / reinsert the SD card a bunch of times before it reads it again...starts playing music for awhile...then gives me the error again.
It was mildly irritating at first, but now it seems to be happening more frequently and is downright maddening. Here are the details:
I have a 2011 GTI with the Premium stereo HU (what is that...the RDS-510?)
I am using a 16gb SDHC class 2 card
The error happens mid-song...not at the beginning or end of a song (so I don't think it's a particular file/s that is screwing things up)
I just received a new 7th Generation iPod Nano and it does not display album art on the head unit. It works when using my iPhone 6, but the Nano shows nothing...
View 4 RepliesFor the last 3 months I've been bringing in my vehicle in and out of the VW dealership trying to find out why once in a while when I turn off my my vehicle the accessory part turns back on by its self and error message displaying "Error: Brakes service now!" In the middle of the cluster & then the car turns off completely. The first time I brought it to the VW dealership they called corporate and they said to change the cluster so they did. Two days after I pick up my car the error message came back on. Took it for the 2nd time and they said that it was the gateway .
And one day later after picking up my car the error message came back on again. I'm getting tired bringing in my Golf R and not fixing this issue. What it could be? Just an FYI, It is a push start. Here's a quick video link so you can see what I'm talking about [URL] ....
250k+ miles,had a slow leak for awhile plus misfire code...lately there's been white stuff on the dipstick,changed the oil and it's still there. Guy at shop said it's probably gonna blow.
View 2 RepliesOur 2008 Acura MDX started blowing black stuff through a/c system (driver and passenger sides). When I picked up a piece of it and crushed it in my hand, it would disintegrate into almost a powder-like substance.
We took it to the Acura Dealer and according to them interior filter and a/c vent look fine and they would have to take the whole dashboard apart to see if there is a problem. What it could be? It's not affecting the performance of the car and the AC seems to function just fine. This black net-like particles started last summer.
The XM radio in 2008 ES 350 not working. No problem with AM and FM. Dealer says receiver LE 86180-0W032 must be replaced. The dealer said that it was located in the trunk. Where in the trunk is it located and how can I get to it.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 Volvo V50.The radio and CD changer will not come on when you push on. There is no display for the radio & CD player. There is dispaly for the heating & cooling systems. The speaker settings have dispaly. It is not a fuse. I had them checked. I just got up one morning and it would not work.
View 12 RepliesFor the life of me, I can't figure out how to get into the space between the right side of the driver's seat and the center console. I have lost medication, coins, and a french fry . I've tried all sorts of power adjustments but I can never make any clearance. Once something falls down there, if I stick my hand to grab it, it falls into no man's land.

There is a problem in radio of my 2008 Hyundai Sonata. The radio display illuminates but does not display anything. But sometimes it displays ok magically then again problem appears. All the buttons are working and sound is ok.
But, a week ago radio stopped working at all. When i press on/off button, nothing happens. Only once in 2-3 days it works for some hours then again turns off.
