I ordered and replaced all the LEDs in the car and the license plate LEDs as well. Now I got that damn orange bulb on my dash. Anyway to clear it?
View 4 RepliesMy wife's Prius now has the check engine light, the orange triangle, and the car with the exclamation point lit up. It only has 96,000 miles and hasn't been in a wreck that we know of. I've read that it has to do with the HV ECU, but I don't know much more about it. Is there any chance it's just a loose cable or something simple? It doesn't seem like her car should already be having so many extensive problems all at once. We haven't had any in the past, except the car with the exclamation point came on for a few days and then went away on its own.

I just noticed this morning that the "warning" light (orange triangle with exclamation point) is on in the Multi Info Display in the middle of the dash ONLY when the engine is off. I scrolled to it and it says "check charging system" with the battery logo. When i turn the engine on, the warning light goes away.
The battery logo does not light up where the gauges are. Does this mean the battery is okay? Its confusing and the manual does not clear it up.
Am I correct in assuming that I'm low on battery only if the battery logo lights up where the gauges are? I have no issues when starting the engine or anything.
My wife and I own a 2006 Toyota Prius that we bought used 2 years ago. a couple of days ago, the master warning light (red triangle exclamation point) and check engine light came on. I took it into the dealer and of course, our hybrid battery was dead - battery and a new ECU required.
Our car is at 99,000 and 32 days out of warranty. Went down the road to atlanta hybrid repair. they were incredibly nice, and said that my computer was fine, but the battery would need to be replaced.
Warning light is a steering wheel with an exclamation point - both red, the car will not start.Got new tires 48 hours before this warning light came on.I am trying to see if it is a quick fix that I can do myself, or know enough so I get taken advantage at the dealers.
View 3 RepliesI am getting a 3006,3011,3015 code from my 2001 prius. The car only has 56k miles on it but sat for 8 months without starting or unplugging the batteries. I am wondering if i need to replace bank 1 and 5 on the battery to get the engine light off? The car runs fine and drives great but engine light is on and the triangle exclamation point is on but that's it for lights. What do i need to do? Replace battery altogether? recharge the effected banks?
View 19 RepliesRecently bought a 02 with 34 K, had been well maintained. Last night it wouldn't start so hubby jumped it (properly). Started right away, making him think that wasn't what it needed. Right after that, the Master Warning light came on, the Car with Exclamation Point in it (hybrid system warning light) and the check engine light. The car runs, but it did die, and I had to restart the car, then seemed to drive fine. We don't live near a Toyota dealer, would a regular mechanic be able to read the codes properly? What else should we consider? Should we drive the car?

On two occasions we've had a warning light appear that is not the CEL. It's a triangle with an exclamation point in the middle of it. The first time, my wife called and told me about it and it only appeared for a few minutes and disappeared. I checked the codes and there were none--that was several months ago.
The second time it happened (a few weeks ago), I was driving on an interstate at 70 mph with the cruise control on. The aforementioned indicator light appeared for about two minutes and disappeared. I immediately called Hyundai Bluelink (within a minute) and asked them to look at the code history and they advised they couldn't see any indication of malfunctions. They further advised that indicator meant that maintenance was needed and that I should make an appointment with the dealer. I pushed them for more info, but the operator remained vague about what maintenance my Santa Fe required.
Why does it only illuminate for a few minutes?
Yesterday while running errands the exclamation point on the dash illuminated along with the ABS and VSC indicators. I haven't had my Prius for very long but I kind of expected it to happen at some point as I had done the test a few weeks after I bought it and found the resting voltage wasn't all that great but it wasn't causing problems at the time. View 16 RepliesMy 2008 Prius has approximately 116,000 miles on it, about 8,000 miles ago, I put on a Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter and 5W 30 Mobil 1 Extended Performance Full Synthetic Oil. Over the past week, My "Exclamation Point Triangle Light" (Not sure what it's called) has flashed a couple of times when coming to a sudden stop and the car would emit a "beep".
My first assumption was low brake fluid, but today when I got home and checked the fluids, I found the oil to be approximately 1.5 quarts low... I have not noticed any leaks under the car (I park in the same spot at work daily), and haven't noticed any smoke coming from the rear...
What the problem might be? Is it possible I might have damaged the engine by driving on such low oil for an unknown period of time (guessing a couple of weeks or so)? I used to religiously check the oil in all my vehicles, but have gotten out of the habit on later model vehicles...
I have a 2009 Prius Touring with about 55,000 miles on it. Had it regularly serviced last Thursday at the Toyota dealer/service center, and they said it needed to have the coolant flow control valve replaced due to sticking - so I agreed and they did it under warranty.
On Friday afternoon, I was driving out to the desert and about 50 miles into my trip, the red triangle with exclamation point symbol appeared on my dash, and the word "Problem" beeped on my screen. Then it went off, and then back on a few minutes later. Then it happened again and the high coolant temperature warning light came on the screen...and then went away. I turned off the A/C and opened the hood to check for steam or heat, but there was nothing. Since I was far from my destination, I called the closest Toyota service center and promptly drove there, but the light was off when I arrived. They said they checked everything out and ran the codes, but nothing came up.
When driving home on Sunday, the car did the same thing - Problem Triangle and High Coolant Temperature warning light on and off for varying amounts of time and with no correlation to how fast I was driving or how hard the engine was working. I left the A/C off the entire time.
Today, the car did the same thing after driving for about 10 miles. I brought it back to my regular service center, they ran codes and checked everything out...but they cannot find anything. They said they can't determine anything with the light off, but it doesn't stay on consistently so it's nearly impossible to bring it in with the light on.
I've had this happen twice: Foot on Brake, press start, car powers up. RED Triangle with exclamation point on dash. Message on MFD screen says something like "Transmission not properly engaged, move vehicle to level area and press Park"
I can't move it anywhere because nothing but the electrical system works. I can't even turn it back off.
Toyota tells me have it towed. They send "their guy", who is also the area AAA guy. Tow truck driver says he can't tow it because it won't go into neutral. So he jumps it...car shuts off when power is pushed. Push power again. Car starts fine.
Drive to Toyota. They keep it all day, do all kinds of diagnostic tests, tell me there's nothing wrong. I ask if it's the battery, they say it tests fine, but they'll replace it if I want (of course they don't keep it in stock and have to order it).
The car did the same thing this morning, but I was able to turn it off & restart. (That makes it #3)
I just bought a 2006 prius. It had 2 bad cells in the battery pack. I replaced the cells and all seems to be well, they all read the same voltage and the car appears to be driving, charging, working.
I still have the red exclamation mark and check engine light. The only code I get says to replace hybrid battery pack.
There are no other specific codes or issues and it runs perfect. Basically I guess what I am asking is how to clear the light or figure out why the light is still on!
I had my wheel replaced, new tire put on but the tire pressure monitoring system is still telling me "Tire Pressure Too Low" and there's an icon in the speedometer of a tire with an exclamation point in it that flashes....
View 24 RepliesI have a 99' Toyota Camry that has just turned over 150,000 miles. Two winters ago I noticed that the orange brake light on the dash would come on and stay on. But when the weather became warm again in the spring the dash light went off and stays off during warm weather, and then comes back on again when weather gets cold.
When the light initially came on the brakes worked fine and the pedal was nice and high and firm. I pulled the wheels and found the pads and shoes still had well over 70% of pad and shoe material remaining and the brake fluid is clean and full.
And even to this day the brakes work beautifully except for the dash brake light coming on when cold and going off when warm.
One other side note....I have NEVER used the emergency hand brake lever between the seats since I have owned the car. I have always been leary of using these hand brakes since I have had cars in the past that the brakes would seize in place and would not release when the lever was released. As a result, I never touch it. And I have never place my car in a situation where I would even need to use it.
I got to work this morning and had about 3.5 miles left with the EV. Tried to go home and nothing works. I could not open the door. I thought it was my remote battery so I Changed the battery and still nothing works. I get the Orange caution light on the dash and a clicking sound from the engine area . No lights come on. Nothing.
View 5 RepliesI just replaced a burnt out tail/brake lightbulb and found that I had sockets for 5 lights yet only 3 were filled....two were empty. How could this have happened and shouldnt they all be filled? I replaced the blown one but I feel like I should get 2 more per side to make it a full housing. I also am not certain what kind I need . The turn signal bulbs are fine....it's just the tail/brake light bulbs. Why were they not filled? 2002 V6 Passat.
View 7 RepliesI ordered an LED interior package from Deautokey and they also came with license plate LEDs. The interior looks great, the license plates looked great except for one thing, the right side was slightly yellower than the left. So I contacted Deautokey and they sent me two new ones:
These are identical to the original LEDs except in the old ones the squares are arranged in a diamond pattern but I don't think that matters.
Tonight, I was replacing the right side LED hoping that replacing one is all I had to do to match colors but in order to see better I kept the plate lights on. Well when I went to pull out the housing I forgot that they were still on and pulled it out anyways, there may have been a noise when that happened but I forgot.
I put the new one in, turned the plate lights back on and found that it was dim, I rotated it and same look. I tried the second replacement, equally dim, so I thought "okay, I'll just give up and put the old ones in." Did that and they are now these ones became dim!
What happened!? Did pulling it out while it was still on (only did it that first time BTW) mess something up? Did the new ones being in there mess something up? There is no warning light or message in my instrument cluster.
2001 Jetta 1.8t... Recently made a change in the engine head because in broke the timing belt and had to do valves etc., the car was without power(battery disconnected almost a month), now when it start, a light(symbol orange)comes in the cluster and the engine shuts off, what is causing this problem.

Then about 1 week in today, my ABS lights came on.
I turned it off, left it for about 2 hours then turned on the car again, Got a red exclamation mark that made 2 intermittent beeps together (twice), then the ABS light went off??
Still drives smoothly? faulty assembly?
I am trying to change the color of the light on my dash board and center console from the standard orange to a light blue color. I've tried searching the internet looking for any advice but I haven't come across anything for a 2009 Toyota corolla. I understand that some cars need to have the light bulbs soldered and some can you can change out a colored film. Which of these options applies to my car? If it's the light bulb change then what size and how many. Also, how to take out the instrumental cluster.
