I've been getting it when reversing and it seems to be coming from the rear passenger side wheel. To me it sounds like two metals tapping. I feel like it might be the spring, but I just want a second opinion.
View 3 RepliesAlmost every single time I put my .:R in reverse and the car starts moving I hear a popping noise with pauses in between each pop. I think it might be a ball joint and the noise is coming from the front passenger side.
View 18 RepliesI installed my sway on saturday and it went smoothly. The bushings were greased up, bolts were torqued to spec, nothing was rubbing or touching in anyway. Now I am getting a knocked noise coming from the rear passenger side. after driving it for a day or so i check under the car to make sure nothing loosened up and everything was just how it was when i installed it. What the issue could be, but the noise is really annoying.
View 4 RepliesMy CEL came on a few weeks ago on my 2010 gti, I scanned it and got a code for evap (P0456). I figured it was from filling the tank while the car was running, so I cleared it and went on with my week. About a week later it came back on and when I scanned it, I got the same thing. I haven't had time to smoke test the system but the last couple days i have heard a clicking/tapping noise coming from the rear passenger side of the car. Could the flapper in the filler neck be malfunctioning or gas cap be leaking.
View 2 RepliesAlright, so it could be something very common and in proper operation, but I can't guess what it might be. Whenever I turn my car off, I notice a mechanized buzzing sound coming from the passenger side rear wheel well. Probably no coincidence that the fuel nozzle/inlet sits just above the wheel well. Sound is not very loud, but quite noticeable when standing next to the car in my closed garage. Seems to last for 5 to 10 minutes, then shuts off. BTW, it's a 2012 3.6L SE with Nav.
View 6 RepliesI've just bought a 1996 celica GT. It has very low mileage and is in great general shape for it's age. There is one thing that annoys me and it's a clicking sound coming from the rear passenger side wheel when going over bumps (I hear it a low speeds as tire noise take over after I guess). I was wondering if I should be looking for different signs when I jack it up? Worn bushings? And is there a way to reproduce the sound. I've read about the rear bushing being a problem on these cars... is it true?
View 5 RepliesI have 2002 BMW 325xi (all wheel drive). For about 2-3 months now there is a squeaky noise coming from passenger side front wheel. It sounds like a really bad and rusty coil spring but the weird part is that that noise only appears in warm weather. It has nothing to do with how much distance I drive. If it is 70 odd degrees or warmer outside, the noise starts. In warm weather, the car does not have to be running/moving to hear the noise. I can just push down the passenger side front and hear the noise. I took to a mechanic and he wants me to replace tie rods, control arm and struts. basically the whole suspension system on the front for this noise (in other words, he does not know what exactly is making the noise, so replace everything)
View 5 RepliesUpon putting on my winter wheel i was checking if the bolts were too long and my rear passenger side wheel wasn't spinning. I took the wheel off and checked the rotor and it took a lot of force to spin because the caliper didn't go back. I took the brake fluid line out hoping it would decompress the caliper and it did not, and brake fluid leaked out a tiny bit. This leads me to believe that my caliper is bad. Just want to make sure before I order another one

View 4 RepliesIt seems to be coming from the front passenger side wheel well area. It's only present during braking and coming to a stop. Seems to be also related to wheel speed. The brake performance doesn't seem to be impacted but it's very embarrassing creaking through a parking lot. The noise doesn't seem to be present on a cold start but once the brakes warm up it really comes to life.
I noticed with both wheels up off the ground that the front passenger side wheel (The side making noise) had more resistance than the drivers side when trying to spin. [URL]...............................
So I drive a 98 Honda, 118k miles, and for last month I've got a really strange noise coming from my front passenger side wheel. It happens when I apply the brakes, usually at a slow speed, slowing down from something like 30mph to a stop. When slowing down, if I have just a bit of pressure on the brake, the noise seems to go along with the speed of the wheels. It also happens when I accelerate from a stop.
I can only describe it as a kind of creaking noise, almost like it is coming from the spring. Sometimes it sounds a little tinny, sometimes not so much. I don't think its actually in the suspension, because it doesn't make noise if I go over speed bumps or press down on the fender. Brake pads have a good amount of pad left on them.
My hunch is that it might have something to do with the fact that I hardly ever drive anymore, somewhere around 10-20 miles a week, back and forth to the subway essentially (fair amount of time driving down banked turns in a parking garage if that adds any info). My dad knows a decent amount about cars, but he isn't sure what is going on, though he thinks it nothing dangerous. Strange wheel noises always make me wary though.
I think I'm becoming an automotive hypochondriac ever since I started owning this car...I was sitting at a light the other day and all of sudden I heard a faint sound coming from what seemed to be the passenger side rear of the car. It sounded like a ticking clock or a heart beat...it was some what faint, but still noticeable. It is intermittent though and has no particulars when it happens and seems to go away when I begin to drive off... Fuel pump? Gremlins?
View 3 RepliesI seem to be getting a creaking noise (the same sound you get when you lean on the armrest) coming from the passenger side rear. It sounds like it is coming from the hatch, but I can't quite narrow it down. The creaking noise appears when I drive slowly over bumps.
View 5 RepliesMy wife has a 2012 Accent with 23k miles. Within the last few weeks she started having a clunking noise coming from the rear passenger side when going over bumps. I had some time to check the basics (loose lugs, broken exhaust bracket, spare tire, trunk lid, etc..) and have come up with nothing. I'm not very familiar with Hyundai's, but I wouldn't think there are very many components to the rear suspension other than struts that could be making a clunk like that. But with 23k miles, the struts shouldn't be bad.

Here's the kicker: It only happens when I turn LEFT!!!! I checked and there is nothing obvious that sticks out to touch the tire when it turns...
I've been noticing "Hissing Noise" coming from the rear passenger side (rear right hand side) of my 2011 Prius for a few days now. It sounds like the hissing noise is coming from the vent that's located on that side. Not sure what that does, but the hissing noise is usually present when I'm driving at 10MPH or up and it's gone when I'm less than 10MPH or at a complete stop. I have about 32K miles on the car.
View 7 RepliesJust took my r on its first road trip. About 1k miles straight. Reached the destination and I noticed smoke coming from the drivers side wheel well. Popped the hood and seems to have com from the rear of the engine. It dissipated fast. 15k on the odometer.
View 13 RepliesI owned a 99 f250 a little while ago. Just bought a 2006 crewcab F150 xlt about 2 months ago, and for the past month there has been this unusual grinding or whirring like noise coming from the front passenger side wheel.
I took it to the mechanic and he found a bad wheel bearing on drivers side and replaced it but that wasn't the issue. He could hear the noise but wasn't able to figure out what the actual issue was.
The noise only happens when my foot is on the throttle. (not when coasting) and i also just discovered that it doesn't make any noise at all when put in 4x4.
Could the tail lights be the results of some buzzing/static noise coming from my rear passenger side? I hear this noise when I'm on rough surfaces and it sounds like it's coming from over my right shoulder. It's a faint noise and I can only hear it when the audio is off. 2013 Camry SE ...
View 5 RepliesAfter a quick search i came up with it possibly being the endlinks, but my question is how do i tell if they are bad and if its the upper or lower link? after getting under the car neither were loose or anything and the bushings had slight cracks in the rubber it didnt look too bad though. anything else i should be looking for?
View 4 Repliesok so i noticed recently that there was this humming noise coming the rear right passenger side everytime i accelerated up to 30mph. the noise would get louder the faster i go. i got it checked by a shop and they told me that it had something to do with my wheel bearing. my car is lowered on coil covers and I have negative camber on my wheels. Why its making this humming noise or if its because i never got my alignments. I am thinking of throwing my stock suspension back in and letting the dealership deal with it since my car is still under warranty.
