Just got stage 2 tune with tbe and bhs pendulum mount. Loving it so far but there is a loud buzzing coming from the dash area every time I hit the gas. There is more vibration in the car now that will probably stir up some rattles but this one is pretty loud!! Doesn't sound like it is in the engine compartment but more like on or in the dash by the radio or climate controls.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2005 Avalon Limited. A couple of weeks ago I put the car in reverse and I started hearing this loud buzzing noise coming from the rear window area. I narrow it down to the rear window sunshade. It also makes this noise when pressing the button to lower the shade and maybe sometimes rising it. I know it has something to do with the relay or motor when the signal is sent to it to lower it, because a lower the shade signal is sent when the car is put into reverse or button is pushed. How to find the motor or relay without taking the rear seat out. Right now I would rather just disconnect it to stop the annoying buzzing noise. Where can I find a service/maintence manual to maybe find out how to disconnect it.
View 14 RepliesTried to start my truck after sitting for 2 days in sub zero weather. wouldn't crank. pulled the batteries and charged them over night. Tried to start it the next day-wouldn't crank but the starter relay clicked. Was going to pull the starter and check it but decided to replace the relay first. replaced it and tried to start but now have no power to the cab-nothing comes on. I've checked the batteries with a load tester and they are ok. I've checked the fuses and they seem to be ok. when I tried to start it and the relay clicked there was a loud buzzing noise that seemed to be coming from under the dash. it has done this before but this time was louder than usual. I live out in the sticks so taking it somewhere is a last resort. It is a 1999 7.3 with 290000 miles.
View 14 RepliesA months or so ago, after turning off my car I noticed a loud buzzing noise coming from the drivers-side lower firewall area. I cranked the car up and the buzzing stopped immediately. The problem began as intermittent but now within 2 minutes of turning my car the buzzing noise always starts, and runs my battery dead! I have taken my car to 2 local shops that have good reputations and they both began guessing and throwing parts at the problem to no avail my last resort is a dealership but it is 100 miles away and I'm not sure if they would do any better. I feel like this is something simple that an expert should have no problem diagnosing.
I have been searching around the internet and never seem to find someone with the exact same problem - until today!

So after a few months of having these springs on the car I noticed that as of recently there is a loud CLUNK coming from the front shock area. This specifically occurs in the morning while backing up out of the driveway, after the car has been sitting for a long time. This happens at low speed as soon as i turn the wheel to align with the street. To make matters worst, there seems to be a more persistent noise coming from the rear whenever i go over any sort of rough surface, almost as if something is loose . I took it to my local VW to see if they could replicate the noises and they did. I did not mention I had springs on the car (VWR), should I have ? What could be causing these issues?

View 6 RepliesThis time it's about my tranny. After putting on 034 motorsport track density mounts, this whining noise started coming apparent and it's pretty loud and it's coming from the tranny area. Not sure of the fact that the mounts are so stiff has anything to do with it, but here goes...
It's like a slight grinding/mechanical whine noise that happens only when in gear and under load. It gets louder as the speed/rpm's get higher and happens in every gear. Funny, but sounds like a mechanical supercharger whine that you'd get from a supercharged car. When the car is idling, there is nothing wrong/no noise.
Clutch is not slipping, power feels just like it did before, my clutch pedal doesn't get stuck nor is it hard to push down.
A few initial diagnoses from friends were that there is some sort of shaft play in the tranny or that it may very well be a synchro.
So was driving home from work today and was fairly close to home waiting at a light. Light turns green and I start to move forward (going up a moderate hill). I shift into 2nd and all of the sudden I hear a loud, metallic "rat-tat-tat" coming from somewhere around the passenger side front area of the car. Almost like a snare drum but more metallic sounding. Then this is followed by what sounds like a second or two of metal-on-metal type grinding noise. Don't feel much of anything, maybe a slight shudder. Then it seemed fine.
I was only about two blocks from home and it was driving okay so I continued on home. No warning indicators of any kind on the dash. When I got home I looked in the engine compartment and under the car for any signs of something obvious being broken. Nothing. I haven't driven the car since but I'm worried about what might transpire in the morning. It's even possible that it was one of the cars next to me and I was hearing the sound from their coming nightmare echoing off of the buildings to my right. But, it seemed like it was coming from my car, and that metallic popping sound has me very nervous. But as I said I drove it a few blocks after this and it seemed fine.
I recently noticed some kind of a faint buzzing noise coming from the engine area. basically when the radio is off I can hear some kind of a buzzing noise under medium load, it sound like a loose heat shield or something. I took it to a dealer this morning, did a test drive with the tech who also heard the noise, got a call later on telling me that the noise is normal and is present on the other Tiguans as well.
View 4 RepliesI have recently started to hear (at frequent intervals) a loud buzzing sound that can best be described as a phone vibrating/buzzing while its on a table. The sound happens every few minutes and is pretty annoying. It seems to be coming from around the navigation area or glove compartment - i cant pinpoint it. I turned off the radio and AC and the sound is still present. My Navigation Wood cover has been STUCK for a few months (doesn't come out and shut nor tilt) but not sure if that is the cause here. What can be causing this sound?

View 13 RepliesSo I'm working on a customers car, its a 2001 Passat, there is a buzzing sound that started when she would use her left turn signal, and now the sound wont stop, the only way to make it stop is to turn the car off, turn the blinker on, or the flashers. I'm thinking the Turn signal switch inside the steering area.

View 4 RepliesThere is a constant buzzing/clicking sound that seems to be coming from my navigation in the dash. It makes the noise all the time, not just at random times. It sounds as if the nav is trying to load something constantly? It is really strange, also sounds like a computer when you first start it up with the clicking and buzzing.
View 8 RepliesI am having a strange issue with this vehicle that the dealership can't figure out but it doesn't surprise since here they are a bunch of idiots there anyways....well here it goes....when i start the vehicle there is a fairly loud "buzzing" noise coming from the drl module mounted on the front right side fender, the module feels like the relay inside is clicking extremely fast but not actually staying on, the drl's do not come on however the high beam indicator on the dash is illuminated. This will go away when i turn on the low beams, but i still have no high beams. There is a slight flicker within all the interior lights and headlights which leads me to believe there is a ground issue. I am unable to obtain any schematics for this part of the electrical system to be able to back probe and try to isolate the issue.... The vehicle seems to be fine as long as you turn the low beams on as soon as you start it other then the slight flicker in the lighting inside and out.....

Some weeks ago a noise started that sounded like fan blades striking against heavy plastic fan guard. At first I thought it was coming from the transmission/Transfer case area but after a few weeks of listening to I now believe it's coming from behind the dash area, however, I can't find any reason for it be from there.
The noise usually starts around 45 MPH
I checked the heater fan and it appears to be Okay. I don't know of any other fans in that area.
I have a 2012 Sonata GLS with 3300 miles on it. I have noticed that now that the temperature has dropped to below 60 degrees I have annoying dash rattle. It seems to be based on the rpm of the motor (1200-1500 rpm). So every time I take off from a stop sign or stop light I have this buzzing rattling coming from the center of the dash. It sounds like it is in the upper part behind the radio. The wife drove last night and I put my ear on the passenger side vent by the radio and I could hear the rattle. I am just trying to isolate the problem so when I go to the dealership I can give them some decent information. I thought the problem was the cowling on the bottom of the windshield. In the center of the window it had warped up. They replaced the cowling earlier this week and the problem is still there.

Its also difficult to start now. It has to swing for 10 secs before the engine fires. What it could be?
View 4 RepliesAfter almost 12,ooo miles, I'm starting to experience some kind of buzzing resonance that come through to the dash, console, and can feel it in the gas pedal. It's weird because it will happen when accelerating and decelerating too, but not it's not a constant occurrence. I wondering if the motor mounts are loose? The ICE runs great and the transmission seems to be operating as smoothly as ever. It's just odd that this started just recently.
View 1 RepliesMy left headlight has been going off periodically, so to confirm that it's the bulb, tonight I switched the bulbs from left to right/right to left.
The job went very smoothly. It took me about 20 minutes, but I took my time. I buttoned everything back up and turned on the lights. Both sides came on, but I immediately noticed a very loud buzzing/whining sound coming from both headlamps. It is very loud and I know I would have noticed it before at some point over the course of the last three years that I've owned the car. Obviously, this is not normal, but I can't for the life of me figure out what I could have done wrong, if anything.
