Golf/GTI VI :: Interior Courtesy Lights Inoperative And Horn When Locking

I just picked up my new 2010 Golf (2-door manual, gas) a couple of weeks ago. I'm planning to take it back to the dealer for the first checkup soon. I'm having a minor issue with the car and am wondering if others have experienced this or if I have something set improperly. I've gone through all of the adjustments available through the trip computer menus to no avail.
Basically, the courtesy lights for the interior of the car don't come on when the door is opened. The sensor on the door apparently works as the "door ajar" signal comes on the instrument panel when the door is open.
The switch on the headliner works to turn the lights off (left), stay on (right), but in the center position, which according to the owner's manual is supposed to be the "door open" position, the lights do not come on.
I also hate the horn that beeps when I lock the car. I often come home from work after my kids are asleep and I try not to make noise. There doesn't appear to be a setting for this in the owner settings menu through the trip computer. Can the dealer turn this off for me?
Interesting, today VW sent me an email with a link to some "welcome" videos with how-to information about features on the car. On the remote locking video it just showed and described the turn signals flashing when locking, but no horn.
Otherwise, I'm enjoying the car a great deal. It drives wonderfully and is very quiet on the freeway. I just love the new seats on the 2010 base Golf as well. They remind me a lot of the Recaros on my old Jetta 16v.

Just got a 2007 Passat with 33k on it. So far, aside from he rock chip i got on the windshield on the way to work on day 1, I love this car. Put about 500 miles on it so far in less than a week. I have to do the typical stuff like replace the DV and cam follower, but, I do have 1 question. When I lock the car or hit the panic button on the remote, only the lights go on. There is no horn sound. But, when I press the horn, it works. Could it be a fuse, if so, which one? I looked in the manual and could not find the horn fuse on the diagram.

I have a 2011 sonata gls. Today I noticed when locking the car with the remote keyless entry, the hazard lights don't blink, and also no horn feedback when the remote is pressed twice within 4 seconds. I checked all settings in the display and horn feedback is set to "on". The unlock on the fob works fine, the hazard lights do blink for that. I know this is not a serious issue, just used to hearing and seeing the doors lock. What to look for to fix this?

This has happened to me before and usually when someone else is with me and they close the passenger door funny then i go to lock it and no beep. So i make sure to close all the doors again including the hatch then i lock it and i get the beep from the horn. But recently no matter what, the horn is no longer beeping when i arm the car. Car is still armed. Alarm goes off if i open the door when locked, but just wondering why the horn beep is gone upon arming.

I am used to hitting my lock button on my key fob and hearing the horn honk to confirm it is locked. Is there a way to have the horn blow as well as see the lights bling to indicate the doors are locked?

Is there a way to disable the horn when locking the car without VCDS? I couldn't find anything in the car menus?? I got my car last night and coming home I was trying to be quiet as to not wake my gf and/or neighbors and realized just how loud the horn is when locking the car. I have to disable this some how.

How come this isn't in the MFD settings? I hate my horn beeping when I lock the doors. So are we able to set this to not beep? I think on the MKV it was under ATA settings or something.

With AFS checked in settings, no codes, no error messages. The headlights are not turning with steering.
Is it possible to hard code them off since I bought the car used.
I switch headlights on, start the car, they do the dance and self level, they seem to work fine otherwise.

So I just picked up an R32 and it has a euro switch and euro projector headlights but I've noticed that my parking lights, city lights, and front fogs are all inoperative. Though the turn signals do work. I tried doing a quick search but wasn't really able to come up with anything as to a reason why.

Since delivery a month ago we have had 2 minor quirks.
keyless locking/unlocking rarely works. Tried using the 2nd key for a day or so but no difference. No light in the remote or indicator in the dash telling me battery is dead...
The rear courtesy lights above the rear seats only work occasionally. All button settings seem to be set correctly to come on when th doors open but they don't . Most of the time you cant even turn them on manually but sometimes they work..

We just bought a 2003 Windstar SE, the door ajar indicator is on on the dash all the time but the courtesy/dome lights don't come on with any of the doors open. The lights will come on manually with the headlight switch? I am pretty sure these are controlled by the GEM module.

My 2001 Chrysler Concorde courtesy lights come on mysteriously in the middle of the night? I put my slippers on and open and lock the doors and they go out okay but pop on again. Is this a short in the wiring harness to one of the doors?? Can I fix it myself? Can I pull a fuse and still operate the car? My battery is completely drained when I fly out of town.

I have a 2013 FX4 (crew cab) and cannot figure out how to turn on the courtesy lights! I can get them to work individually by pressing the edge of the lights, but I believe the dimmer switch to the left of the steering wheel should turn them all on (both front and back).
The manual says to push the dash dimmer switch until they come on, but that does not work! An acquaintance has a 2103 Lariat and he can turn his on using the switch, but no luck for me. I was looking in some of my literature I saved when I bought the truck thinking this feature may have been buried in some package that I did not get. Am I missing something?

I just got a Silver Camry SE Sport today and I was wondering how do you turn off the horn when locking/unlocking your car. The horn's too loud for my taste. I also have the CAR alarm that comes with the car if that makes a difference.

2010 Passat wagon. The locking horn chirp on the Passat is way too loud. I know I can turn it off, but I was wondering, if can change horn to a chirp instead. (I think this locking horn is different from the actual horn on the car, but I'm not positive) My Touareg chirp has more of a bird chirp sound which is much more subtle that the fog horn style of the Passat. If I lock the Passat late at night it wakes up everyone in the house. Also, how do you access the horn, it sounds like it is inside the passenger front fender.

I just purchased a used 2016 Hyundai Sonata SE. Inspected the car from top to bottom upon purchasing but failed to check one thing. I have discovered the horn does not chirp upon locking (pressing fob lock button twice). The system panel shows the car has this feature and the box is checked to do so. The doors do lock and the lights do blink. The panic button when pressed on the fob also makes no sound. Again, the lights blink on the car itself when the panic button is pressed. I have researched and have came up empty.
I can not seem to locate the hood switch or sensor on the car where older models seem to be. Dealer says it is in the latch on 2016's but I am uncertain this is correct as I called several dealers and got different answers each time. They all want me to bring the vehicle in but run the risk it is not covered under warranty depending on the issue. Car has 39K miles. Horn works fine. Carfax was clean so supposedly accident free. I'm focused on the hood switch because most of my research pointed in this direction.

My 2008 R32 interior lights do not come on when I open the drivers side door, works OK from passenger door. I can not find the door switch. I've searched all around the door and the door frame. No luck. Also the doors will not lock, and using the key to roll up or down the windows or sunroof don't work.
