Inside driver door, where the knob is to adjust left/right side mirrors - I see an icon that indicates there is a way to defrost the side mirrors, how to actually turn that on?
View 10 RepliesMy blinker housing is cracked and I can't figure out how to remove and replace it. It looks like you might have to pull the mirror glass to get to the screws. Is this the case? If not, how do you do it, and if so, how do you pull the mirror glass off without it breaking?

View 5 RepliesUpgrading my side mirrors. When I bought my Santa Fe I completely forgot about these. I have tried google them but nothing comes up. I don't mind doing the install myself. I would even buy OEM parts as I assume its probably just plug and play with the old ones.

As I want to use the electrical mirrors to adjust my driver side mirror, passenger side mirror moves too. Is it possible that these faults caused by not coded ECU?
I connected ground wire of my LED to blue and black cable connected to the mirror and ran another wire from unit 10 in 16 pin door connector to live wire from my LED.
I have a new 2015 RX 350 and the side view mirror quit folding when I turn off the car. The auto light is turned on. It will work when I utilize the manual switch and it will open when I use the auto switch, but it won't close when I park the car and shut it off. Is there something I'm doing wrong or some other item I need to set?
View 2 RepliesWe were following an RX350 the other night, it was a later model as the rear wiper was hidden, and I noticed it had turn signal lights at the outboard edge of the side view mirrors. Is this a 2015 thing or something we missed on the 2014?
Might not be enough to trade up for but something I hope continues into the Gen 4 models as it is a feature I like.
Cracked the lens on the turn signal of the passenger side sideview mirror. Can I get a replacement lens? How to replace? I need to replace the whole mirror.
View 9 RepliesThere was some kind of accident somewhere that broke the turn signal in the drivers side mirror on my GX 460, 2012.
I have worked on other cars before and it has been easy, remove the screws holding the housing in place, and based on swell's site I can see the new signal bolts on.
However, I see the 4 Philips screws behind the physical mirror, and I can access 3 of them, but not the 4th. It seems I would need to remove the physical mirror and I cannot figure out how.
I noticed the turn signal light on the passenger side and mirror staying on. Wether it's started or off. Locked or unlocked. Don't know what the issues could be. Front one not on though
At the dealer now. I have 600 miles on it so I'm assuming it will be warranty covered.
What is the easiest way to get the side mirror lights off? I'm not trying to break anything so I thought I would ask first.
View 5 RepliesI just picked up a 2004 F150 FX4 Supercab, I had a safety inspection done and am working through some of the issues.
The turn signal indicator on the passenger side mirror is not working (front and rear indicators work). I took the mirror apart and get no voltage to the led array, next I pulled the rubber boot off of the harness in the door jam and probed the wires while with a test light and found one of the wires would blink the test lest light but the colour didn't match the the turn signal array, it matched the heated mirror wire. I probed at the heated mirror connector at the mirror and sure enough it blinks! Then I notice that the heated mirror indicator light on the center dash is blinking? I push the heated mirror button below the indicator light and ALL turn signals (front and rear) stop.
I searched the forum for mirror turn signal issues and found a thread about corroded wire splice below the fuse panel. I checked and have no splice all look ok so I thought I would post and see if I can get some direction or a schematic.
The symptoms are :
- Passenger side mirror turn signal(right turn) indicator does not work
- front and rear turn signal indicators work
- power seat works
- fuses are good
- drivers side all turn signals work fine
- heated mirror indicator light on the dash blinks with the passenger side turn signal
- pushing the heated mirror button when turn signals are flashing (right turn) results in a solid heated mirror indicator light but all other right turn signal indicator stop blinking (off)
It seems to me that there must be a short between the two circuits but where?
I noticed today that though the small single LED visible to the driver flashes when you signal, the apparent row of lights on the back of the mirror does not. Is the clear stripe across the back of the mirror that most cars have to augment the directional signal just decoration on the GTI? Or does it only light up on SE and Autobahn models?

1 : I installed puddle lamps and either didn't plug something in OR when they were coded something went wrong.
2 : I have colored side markers with no bulbs and they are somehow connected.

The mirror defrost comes on with the rear window defrost, my question here is does the defrost image on the mirror light up when on?
The other day I was sitting in my car and noticed my mirror on my driver side looked off, it was out of line, I went to go touch it and poof the mirror falls into my hand so i do have the mirror (not broken), how do I install the mirror back ?? I'm guessing it uses a glue but then how would that work with the heated mirror component? tried looking for a DIY and can't find anything.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2013 KR F150 SC 4x4 and have owned it since new. This big snow/ice storm that just came thru NC is probably the first time I have tried to use the rear window and mirror defrost . It does not work nor will the light come on the sync display. i pressed the button on the hvac as well as on the sync. My son says there is a TSB on this. I have 40,000 miles and the warranty is out. Also, its too cold to check the fuse today.

View 13 RepliesThis morning found that someone had cracked the glass on my side door mirror... The housing itself is fine, but the glass is cracked, and I'll need to replace.
Do I have to replace the entire housing? The mirror still tilts and moves properly.
Someone before me used the wrong thing to scrape ice off their mirror. I am having a hard time finding replacement glass for my side mirror. I only need a driver-side, and I would like it to have the convex outside portion like it does now. That said, I wouldn't mind getting new glass for both sides.
View 24 RepliesJust the other day I noticed that my passenger side mirror will move up and down, but not right and left. Drivers side works fine. The mirrors are all stock, I haven't changed them yet. It's been pretty cold out lately and I recently washed my car (on a warmer day). Could this be the cause?
