What can I use to clean the cloth seats?

View 1 RepliesMy wife has a 2012 Camry with cloth seats and integrated air bags.
I'd like to install aftermarket heat elements. I'm worried that I'll damage something with the airbags as I pull the covers.
I plan on disconnecting the battery, and then removing the seat from the vehicle however the built in airbag has me worried.
I want to mount the switch in the empty panel next to the traction control button.
Where is the closest fuse box on this vehicle?
How do you clean the interior fabric (seat and panels)? The fabric i have is suede I think, so it's easy to get dirty.. lints all over, stain from mini drink spills, etc. I've tried a few methods but none seem to take out the stain...SO I was wondering how to clean out everything from this fabric? And make it look new Also anyway to coat it to prevent it from getting any more dirty later on?
View 3 RepliesOur '88 S10 is having sagging head liner problems. It appears that the cloth is separating from the structure underneath it, allowing it to droop and even touch our heads. Is there a way to fix this back to the way it normally was? Does it require any special tools to remove it? or is it better to just find a replacement?
View 1 RepliesSince Day 1 grime has been collecting on my windshield despite many wiper-washings. Base 2011 GTI.
View 24 Replies If it doesn't rain it's not too bad, just small specks of dirt. But holy hell, as soon as it rains it looks like someone threw up all over the hatch, rear window, and under the hatch spoiler. Puddles of dirt/water then form on the flat portion. It looks disgusting.
I've waxed the hatch to death with Zaino. What sucks is, so much stuff gets on the hatch that it sticks to the surface and pretty much only comes off with a claybar.
Is there any good product recommendations to clean the caked on carbon build up on the exhaust pipes? I want these pristine shiny again.
View 14 RepliesI need to clean the inside door handles badly on my Jetta. See pics. It seems that there outer layer of plastic is stained and rubbing off. I want to take this layer off completely, and protect it, but want to make sure I use something that's not harmful to the plastic.
Additionally, I need to re-glue a couple of trim pieces. I looked into trying to get replacement wood burl pieces, but VW stopped making them years ago, and I can't find them anywhere. My local dealer last sold a single piece a year ago for $303 (yes - a single piece - the driver door simple 1" strip; not the whole kit). So I'm going to try to re-glue the broken piece to try and make it look decent. I'm wondering if others have had experience doing this and can suggest the best type of glue.
When I looked at them a couple days ago I noticed that on the top of the original springs (I'd say first and maybe some of the second down) looked shiny and clean like it was making contact with the spiral above it. Could this be a warning sign of needing new springs or is this somewhat normal? The Car is a hair under 82k miles.
View 4 RepliesDo the seats are interchangeable???
View 2 Repliesworking fine the other day then all of a sudden both seats don't heat up? I havent had the time to start investigating so i thought id post something here first...
View 1 RepliesWhy my fuse for heated seats keeps burning out??? It works for a day then next day heated seats don't work.. Changed 3 fuses in last week!
View 3 RepliesMy r does not have the stock seats in it due to theft. Now, my question is how can I get the air bag light to turn off?? I cannot get the seats for another month and need to have the car inspected !!
View 2 RepliesDo you have to remove the headsets before folding the seats down?
View 3 RepliesI went from cloth seats to leather in my 2012 mk6 and now i cant get rid of airbag light...
View 8 RepliesI have a question about the front seats in the GTI/Golf. I'm looking to purchase a 2010 3-door Candy White DSG GTI, and am super pumped! The front seats, when slid forward to access the rear seats, don't lock in the forward position? It seems like they should, I know they lock in the forward position on a friends 2008 Golf. Neither seat locks, which makes me think that they don't and I didn't have the owners manual to check. With all the thoughtfulness of VW, I'm guessing that I'm missing something, or the seats are screwed.
View 1 RepliesI want to use leatherique on my GS, but I'm afraid of clogging the perforations and somehow losing the cooled seat feature, if you don't know about leatherique you basically massage in one oil and leave it on a hot day, then come back and clean it off with the other cleaner oil that comes with it, I used it on my old 2GS and it worked unbelievable, made my car look almost factory new, got rid of most of the creases. Also what do you do for little things stuck in the perforations that won't vacuum out? I just don't wanna use some liquid cleaner and get it in the holes.
View 1 RepliesWhat to use to clean the interior, Door interior scuffs, dust etc.
View 14 RepliesI was having problems with my 2010 Prius, when I would try to put gas in it the pump would cut off after a small amount of gas. It would take quite a while to fill up the car. I took it to a Toyota Dealer and the problem was a plugged up charcoal canister, which they cleaned out. I live on a gravel road.
My question is, how to clean out the canisters? Can you just use an air hose? I'm sure running around with a plugged up canister can not be good for the car.
I just bought a 1998 Camry 4 cylinder and i thought i needed to clean the EGR but my dad said it is the resonator. So I'm unsure on what it is exactly. it is kind of sluggish at idle and cant pass emissions. I was thinking of cleaning the egr since that is simple then if that doesn't work then I'll look into the resonator?
View 13 RepliesI'm looking at 2010 Prius III. It doesn't have the Nav package.
What options are there that could add a good, clean backup cam and Nav system? Also, are there any aftermarket solutions for a "whiter" headlight?
In non-projector cars, I know you can get whiter bulbs (higher kelvin), but not sure about in the projectors.
