View 4 RepliesI know that the rear emblem is two pieces, I want to color match the black to silver then black out the VW. Is there a way to just take off the silver VW without removing the whole thing off the back?? If so, how?
View 2 RepliesSo I went and bought a flat black rear VW emblem. Of course the new one isn't shaped the same as stock, and the adhesive gave out. What adhesive I should use? Tape, liquid...
View 2 RepliesI was at Home Depot and came across a can of Plasti-Dip so I figured I will get it and try blacking out my rear emblem. I remember recently seeing someone discuss how to remove this so it could be painted. I used to search using like 10 dif keyword combo's and found nothing.
View 5 RepliesI am looking to black out my front and rear Toyota emblem/badges. I would like to get matte black. I've seen a few 2012 Camry's with it, but am not having any luck finding them online.
View 14 RepliesThe red ones that are in the rear bumper, Do I have to take off the whole bumper?
View 22 RepliesHow to remove (fully remove) the rear seat headrests from a Golf 7? I never have passengers in the rear seat, and I find that the headrests obstruct my vision (via the interior mirror) out the rear window.
I know that VW configures these headrests so they cannot easily be removed (this to prevent them from unintentionally popping out when someone is adjusting them upwards). I am sure that there must be a 'trick' to getting them out completely, though.
How to completely remove these headrests?
I am having trouble removing the rear passengers side panel. Whoever owned the car before me must have removed it and not put in back on properly, its way off aligned. You can see in the pics exactly what I am talking about. I tried to remove the panel last night and was having issues and thought i was going to break something. I don't want to snap any clips off and not have the panel fit back on properly. How this panel is properly removed?
View 3 RepliesI'm having my rear emblem painted gloss black and body color. I need to remove the entire rear hatch latch. A friend of mine said that there is a link on vortex that explains how to take it off. I tried finding it, but had no luck. Don't think I'm searching correctly.
View 8 RepliesHow to remove the rear side interior trim? I want to install a rear view camera. I need to pull the trim to run the wiring along the left side to the floor and to the front of the car.
My understanding is I need to get access to the left rear side of the hatch, then underneath the carpet along the rear door trim, etc. I've seen some posts on the 2 door, but there appear to be differences between that and the 4 door.
My R doesn't have a hatch emblem. I have the emblem, and I want to put it on. But how do I know where to put it?
View 8 RepliesI have a persistent prob with the lock mechanism on the rear door of my mk4 golf, I don't suppose there is a picture tutorial on this subject. I have looked but can only find for the front door.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2010 4 door GTI. I'd like to install my daughter's front facing Britax child seat either in the rear right or rear central position. However, in either case, I'm finding that most of the rear weight ends up on the headrest and I would like to simply remove the headrest from that seating position.
I read in the user manual that to remove the headrest,I pull it to it's highest position and then push the button on the right side of the plastic entrance of the head rest into the seat, and 'simply' pull the headrest vertical out of the seat.
This is similar to how this was done in other cars I've owned. However it is not working for me with the GTI. Once I pull the headrest to the highest possible position I can get to, I press the button but the headrest simply refuses to come out. I've tried this on the other rear seat and same problem. With the middle rear seat I can't seem to pull the headrest out beyond its lowest position.
So I tried removing my rear deck but was unsuccessful. I removed 4 "screws" when folding the seats then the ones inside the trunk but it didn't come off. Did I miss anything that is holding it down?
View 4 RepliesThe clips on the cover broke so I bought a new one. Since they redesigned the 04 base, I have to remove the base. I remove the nut on the outside and the 3 on the on the inside after removing the cover. However I can't figure out how to pull the wiper off and replace the base. There is something holding it together. There is a pin that is connected to the inside that has a round hole but it is not a torx, allen, or any type of other tool I tried.
View 5 RepliesPutting in my amp/sub this Friday. I was told to run wires under sills, not through the center console.
So I don't goof up and bust/damage any clips or pins , what is the correct way to remove the sills, both f & r, drivers side?
I have a newbie question on how to remove the rear bumper? Do I disconnect the sensors first or remove the bumper and disconnect the sensors.
I read this thread : [URL] .....
But was not sure which bolt to remove? Is it all 4 on each side or 2 toward the rear of the bumper?
