I just noticed on my front passenger door, when I pull the handle, the top of the door is rubbing against the rubber. It seems to be shifted a little down, especially on the top left corner of the door. What's going on with it. Doesn't open as smooth as the door once did.
View 6 RepliesI have an 03 GLI and am having a little issue. My passenger front door won't latch. The tumbler, for lack of a better word, is in the proper position and swings freely; but it never catches. If I use a screwdriver I can push it all the way back; but there's not so much as a click when it gets all the way back and just swings back out.
View 1 RepliesI notice the door rattles a lot now, more noticeably over bumps. Also, I don't really turn my music that loud, but when it is I can hear the rattle as well. Any quick fixs for this? Or would it be easier to get the dealer to try to fix this during my 5000 mile maintenance?
View 6 RepliesSo I've had a gremlin in the front door of my wife's grey Mk6 GTI since we got it. I took it to the VW dealership only for them not to fix it. The door panel sits on the woofer in the bottom of the door and it sort of sounds like the speaker is blown, but if you pull out on the panel pocket the sound goes away so I'm pretty sure that it's the panel and not the speaker. I attempted to take off the panel and didn't read up on it first so I broke the pocket (like a friggen moron). Now I both need to problem solve the sounding speaker but also find a replacement door panel. I live in Severn, MD.
View 4 RepliesSo I have an 03 wolfsburg, when my car is on and I open either the front driver or front passenger door the lights on the interior don't come on. Is this normal? I could have sworn they did before and on my 01 1.8t GLS, but if I open the any of the rear doors the lights come on...
I just got an LED interior kit, but haven't got it in the mail yet, so it is still on the stock bulbs from the factory, is it a dual filament bulb that just needs replacing?
I am replacing my front passenger side door on my 2000 Jetta GLX. I have been searching online for detailed instructions on how to do this, but have turned up empty handed.

The sunglasses holder rattles all the time especially when i am listening to music with a little bass, the roof rattles a bit but that seems to go away if i close the sunroof shade, also my front passenger door rattles.
View 22 RepliesI just picked up my new 2011 last night. Noticed today it looks like the corner of the rear bumper on the passenger side is not flush with the car and seems loose. Its not to noticeable but when compared with the driver side there is definitely a difference.
View 10 Repliesafter owning my car for a week now I've noticed a few issues.
1) Passenger seat-heating doesn't work. Is this a common issue? is there an easy fix for it? I searched but didn't come up with anything. Is there a place I can check the voltage output at?
2) The bumper alignment is off, way off. I think the previous owner hit something :/ my rear bumper is totally mis aligned. Is this an easy fix? can I just take it off and re-align it myself? Or am I going to have to buy new front and rear bumpers?
3) When I drive I have a wur wur wur like described in the other recent post. I'm not sure whether the wheels are off-balance or off-round; however I'm taking the car to belle tire soon to find out.
Just want to get the car back to 100% the previous owner didn't treat her well at all. When I got the car there was so little power-steering fluid it wasn't even reaching the dip-stick and the coolant anti-freeze level was below minimum.
So I took my GTI in for TSBs, new wipers, the door seal creak and new wheels (old ones were not painted behind the spokes) - when it was returned to me, I noticed (after I got home) the red door stripe on the passenger side would not light up. At one point they had taken that door panel off to see if it was creaking instead of the seals (which of course, it was not) and I assume that they forgot to connect something, or unplugged something accidentally. Any other suggestion, like a magical fuse I can replace? I so don't want to travel 60 miles back to this guy. And not only did they not fix the seals, the noise is worse than before, I think from them messing with the doors. But anyway, I'm looking for possible DIY fixes.

View 3 RepliesHere is what happens, lock the car with the remote, walk up and pull door handle(outside), the door opens like it was not locked and no alarm sounds. The other three doors are secured as normal and do not open when the car is locked.
Who knows how long this has been the case, I just tried the door by chance the other day and it opened. I was quite surprised. Other note, the car was parked at the airport for two weeks outside at the airport from about dec 20 to after the new year, it has also been very cold her recently.
First thought was that it could be frozen, but we had one day where it was in the 30s and the car was in the sun so if that was the case I thought it would have freed up. No go.
I took the car to the dealer on Wednesday, they call me today, Thursday, and say the tech could not replicate the issue, but that there have been several Passat and Golf in that had frozen locks from water intrusion. They say a field engineer was through the other day and said VW has developed a plastic cover for inside the door to prevent that and will be or has issued a TSB for those models but not the Tiguan yet.
I call the regular guy when I return to work to explain what happened and express my disbelief. He suggested maybe some water got in during the car wash and froze it up again? Maybe... Now I have to call them back on Monday to see if there are any updates on a fix.
What it is? Water intrusion, bad latch, lock module? Anything else I can try aside from waiting around for them to get a clue? We only have on street parking so it would be nice if the car locked.
Recently the smaller part of the door handle broke off - we were going to try to superglue it but realized that would be tricky considering the locking mechanism might not work.
Well now 2 weeks later, the door cannot be opened from the outside, even if the door is unlocked. We took the handle off, but now I am afraid to leave it as is, because it would attract a thief to break-in.
Does the handle is completely off can it be "jimmied" open? Is there a way to fix without replacing the entire door handle.
I have a 2010 Santa Fe. The passenger front door does not close well. It needs a very firm push to latch completely. Regular push and it only catches first click and bounces partially open. I loosened the catch on the jamb, but it seems this is not adjustable.
View 2 RepliesI picked up my 2014 Tiguan about a month and a half ago, and I am experiencing a tinny rattle from the front-passenger side door...and sometimes from the rear passenger door (or at least it seems that way). It is intermittent. Sometimes it is very slight, sometimes it is quite noticeable on acceleration in colder weather, and sometimes it is just not there. It is, however, bothersome...especially on a new car with 1400K miles. It is also the kind of problem that, in my experience, is hard for technicians to locate and fix. Where it might be emanating. Is it is a common problem with this line of VW?

View 4 RepliesMy wife's 2012 VR6 developed an annoying buzzy rattle that, I believe, emanates somewhere from the front passenger side - either from around the glove compartment area closet to the firewall/A-pillar, or the door itself.
I took everything out and still cannot figure out where it's coming from; thought it was the puddle light being loose (and btw they are loose) - but that was not the source of the sound. Best I can describe it as a cross between pebbles in a tin can and small buzzer; and it happens only on rough roads.
Just in case the dealer wants to be a jerk and skip fixing the rattles I have on my car, just curious about creaking noises coming from the front doors. I have one that is pretty bad on the passenger side door. It sounds like a small creek, it happens when i go through roads that are not perfect. The noise goes away if I push against the door panel, not so much when I yank it in. I currently have a broken driver seat too, so hard to pinpoint if I have the exact same problem on the driver side front door, but the creaking is the same.
View 14 RepliesFront passenger door rattles on cold idle. When the engine starts up when cold, the passenger door panel resonates with engine idle. It doesn't rattle with bumps on the road, just the engine vibration.
I took it to a dealer and they added some foam padding and I thought it was fixed, but the next day I noticed the same issue except now the buzzing is "tighter" and faster and a bit muffled. Opening the door stops it. After the engine warms up and idles at a different RPM, it is no longer noticeable.
What this is?
The second rattle started when the weather cooled down for winter. The center console rattles with bumps in the road.
These noises are minor, but so annoying, so I need to get it fixed soon.
So the story begins last year when my inside front passenger handle no longer would open the door. I replaced the actuator with one from Ebay which worked great for a few months. Then suddenly everytime that I would press the fob twice to unlock the pass. doors the locks would unlock and then continue trying to unlock for about ten seconds. After pulling every door panel and unhooking each actuator individually, only after unhooking the one that was already replaced did the issue stop. It had a warranty so it was replaced and worked fine for about a month. Now I'm having an issue with my doors not staying locked. No matter how I try and lock them (with the exception of manually flipping each lock) they lock and automatically unlock like a door is open or key is in the ignition.
I tried reprogramming the locks to shut off the autolock thinking that may possibly fix the issue however even holding down on the lock button doesn't keep them locked so.....no reprogram mode.
I have a 2008 GS 350.........85k miles. Last week noticed an annoying rattle in front passenger door towards the top just below the window. Should I bring this up to the service technician at my next Lexus dealer service visit?
