Are the foot well lights supposed to stay on all the time ? Noticed they were on (dim) while driving.

View 7 RepliesIs this light on all the time? I just noticed it today after driving 160 some miles that the passenger footwell light was on ... then I noticed my footwell light was on as well.
It's something I never noticed before but now it's bothering me. It'd be nice if they were red LED ambient-type lighting but instead its just bright white light....
The footwell lights come on when i open the door to get into the car and then go off after a short period of time. However, they will stay on all the time after the car is started. Is that normal? Can they be turned off when the engine is running? The manual is no support.
View 5 RepliesI painted the senser on the dash black on the inside so the headlights stay on all the time. My question is the dash lights don't stay on all the time, I assumed they would with the headlights on and senser cover painted, drives me nuts with the dash lights coming on and off. How to make dash lights stay on.
View 14 RepliesHave a 06 and the dome lights stay on all the time. I had to pull the bulbs out of all of them. They would come on during the night and run my battery dead. The lights just come on while driving down the road and won't go off either. I can hear a clicking in the dash while driving where they are coming on and off from a really or something. Sounds to me like it's coming from the instrument cluster.
View 5 RepliesI was thinking of putting some red film on top of the light itself. It will tint the lights darker, but whatever, I can crank then brighter. What other ways are there to get red footwell lights?
View 7 RepliesAt first it wouldnt start without me burying the throttle, and wouldnt stay running if i took my foot off the gas, i replaced the throttle position sensor and it starts with no issue, but now if i give it any gas, it shuts of, unless i let off the gas very slowly, what do i do?
View 7 RepliesI have the euro tails and had the bulb out light on, my local dealer changed the light settings and now the DRL lights are dim and stay on with the headlights also one of my reverse lights stays on when the headlights are on.
View 3 RepliesSo I just bought an .:R and come to find out that the FTP lights in the headlights cant stay on.
They only come on if I push the stalk (same one to use for high beams) towards the wheel and as I let go of the stalk the turn back off. So essentially its like the stalk is just a little switch but they cant stay on with out me holding it in?
I would like to use them as running lights because the PO installed yellow bulbs. He also has a euro switch ???
I have led bulbs in the stock tray Because I can't find red bulbs to fit these tails. Can't put white bulbs because my brake lights will be white and NYPD will be on my case
1.w euro switch turned off one bar in 3rd brake light on and top two bulbs on but dim
2. When car is turned off switch off top bulbs stay on but dim but they turn off after a few minutes
3. Replaced both license plate bulbs and only the left side bulb will illuminate but if I turn the euro switch from on to off quickly the right bulb will Flicker as if it had a quick jolt of power to it.
4.turn signals are led ambers they blink way faster than stock is this normal?
My girlfriend's 2005 Jetta has started intermittently leaving its lights on after she locks the car. It seems to happen with the fob OR with the keys in the lock. It started a few weeks ago with just the left rear turn signal. Now it is starting to do all four corners and the repeater on the front fenders.
The lights don't blink, they stay on solid usually after doing the normal "lock blink" and noise. This obviously drains the battery so we've had to jump it a few times.
How to fix this? To me it is obviously something electronic, but I didn't know if I should look to replace relays/fuses/wires/etc.
Every time it rains the carpet is very wet by the left drivers foot. I have cleaned out the drain behind the front wheel and used a heavy gauge plastic mono line to clean out the drain for the moon roof. Unfortunately it still becomes wet. My next area to check is the drain from the area at the bottom of the windshield. How that can be done? 2000 Camry XL....
View 5 RepliesMy brake lights are staying on all the time. I changed my brake light switch. This did not work. I took it to the dealer and they could not figure out what was causing this. They felt it could be a wire which might take them 10 hours to trace down @ $95 an hour. I don't understand how a wire could do this.
View 2 RepliesBoth of my headlights are aimed too low. the left one seems to be even lower than the right. I took it into the dealer & apparently the leveling unit isn't responding & they're going to replace module tomorrow. (part is being rushed in)
Anyhow, i also noticed that prior to this trip to the dealer i had my DRL lights off. Now i guess they turned em back on because they're on all the time now. I don't like that option on, looks like I'm going to have to get my own VAG work done.
The traction light (06 passat) stay on all the time. I just noticed that the park brake motors on the rear wheels are missing. Is it the reason why the traction light stay on?
View 1 RepliesI try to open the rear door and it stay all time close. All others doors working well but not the rear one. I try to open it with the emergency opening behind the light but not working also.... What I could try ?
View 4 RepliesI love this car- i just bought it , but it has one problem i cant figure out .The high beams didn't work at all -till my mechanic figured the prior owner took out the two fuses - now they stay on all the time - even when the car is turned off . My guess is the light switch - my mechanic said it is probably more than that...
View 3 RepliesIn a cold weather also noticed the EV mode doesn't stay on for a long time even with a 90% full battery and fully warmed up. The engine starts to kick in randomly.
View 6 RepliesI was wondering if there was a way to have the charging port to stay on all the time when the car is cut off. When i leave my phone in the car charging, the charging port cuts off and my phone is dead when I come back in the car. If there is a way, how to do it.
View 5 RepliesThe headlights stay on all the time & wear the battery down. I've replaced the DRL module with two new modules & neither fixed the problem. I even examined the headlight switch (some burn up at the switch), but this headlight switch & wiring look new. I even took the headlight switch out & the headlights still stayed on. I made sure that the new modules were grounded to the chasis properly.
