I just got home from work, opened my door and went to close it, it bounced back and did not shut. Tried it again, it would not close. Tried pushing the key fob lock/unlock, did not work. I looked at the lock and its closed, any fix for this issue?
View 5 RepliesSo last night, I went to close my car door and it just "Bounced" when I went to shut it. It did this a few times and then I got it closed. So I left it until this morning and now it won't close at all and just bounces. I believe the latch is broken. Any quick fixes to this?
View 2 RepliesMy car's driver's side door is stuck shut. It won't open from the outside or inside. The lock still works (from the outside and inside). Sometimes the window will go all the way down and sometimes it won't. It usually sounds like it's running into something. We've tried using a flat hook through the window but can't figure it out.
View 1 Replies2003 Ex rwd 6.0l 125,000 miles. The complete rear left side door is stuck shut and has been for about 6 months. This is not a side door, but the very back where the lift gate is. I sprayed wd40 in there, nothing. It won't budge. If its a broken cable inside, how to I take off the interior door panel to get to the access holes and actuator on that door or both doors on the tailgate?

View 4 RepliesJust picked up my Avalon and the drivers side front door doesn't want to shut. It will latch but won't close all the way. If you give it a hard slam it will. All other doors shut with a gentle push.
View 2 Replies-1 (-20 wind chill) here in South Bend this morning, and the Touareg did not like it. All but the drivers door frozen shut. All power windows frozen shut. Defective tyre warning went off once, and then check tyre pressure has stayed on. Wonder what She would do to me if She was not in a garage. The heated seats worked great, how I would have loved to have the heated steering wheel this morning.

The drivers side rear door on our 2004 T'reg is stuck shut. Neither the interior or exterior door handle will open the door. I tried locking/unlocking it a few times, both with the remote and with the interior button. Is this a simple fix, or is it off to the dealership with me?

View 9 RepliesThe wife and I bought a 2014 Santa Fe 2.4 FWD back in August and so far we are pretty happy with it. A few issues have come up in the first couple months of ownership.
1) The dreaded squeak from the rear passenger side started a couple months ago. I’m going to try the easy fixes first (adjusting the tailgate stops, etc) then take it to the dealership if that doesn't work. I hope they don’t have to do the spot weld fix but if that’s what it is, oh well.
2) Another issue that just came up as of recently is that it’s leaking coolant out of some strange fitting on the front o
Among other issues that have been happening with our tig, the battery crapped out. Replaced the battery no problem. The drivers side auto up and down stopped working but that was an easy fix.
When the battery died we noticed the chirp wasn'tt happening when you lock the car. Back left door isn't locking or unlocking with either the fob or any buttons on doors. The lock buttons on the affected door either, but the window works fine.
This seems like the battery dying caused it, is there some way to reset it like the auto up?
My driver side back suicide door won't open. It is the top latch that is not disengaging. I think I heard something loose in that door over the past month. Am I going to have to take off the inside panel to fix it?

View 1 RepliesI just recently replaced the driver side 4-button window switch with one from AARodriguez (FixmyVW.com) on my 2001 MKIV Golf. The new switch had been working fine, but over the last few months, the back windows intermittently wouldn't roll down. It was a gradual process that started when I realized that the windows would actually start to roll back DOWN when I was rolling them UP, or was it vice versa... regardless, it was backwards, and I would have to do it a few times to get it to work properly.
Now, the windows won't roll down at all using the driver's switch, but I do hear a click in the back doors as though some connection is being made. The windows just won't budge. The switches on the back doors work flawlessly, so I don't think it's the motors. The switches for the front windows on the new 4-button switch work fine. There's always a possibility I got a bum switch, or that this one went out, I suppose.
I have 7mm spacers and when I take a hard turn, I get like an almost bouncing, rubbingish, thudding noise and feeling from my driver side wheel/tire area. I have FK coils. Do I need bigger front spacers? I have RC's btw, it gets worse as I go lower, and seems to go away if I really raise it up... how does everyone get away with this?
View 11 RepliesSo I've noticed a problem. When I go to lock my doors with the keyfob my drivers side door doesn't lock. Manually I can turn the key and lock it. Now what's weird is my drivers door will lock when I press the lock button on the inside of the door(the button on the handle). So I'm pretty sure the actuator isn't bad since the door will lock via the inside button, maybe I'm wrong though? Not really a super bad problem but annoying nonetheless.

I'm interested in some color matching door grease. I've always hated the black gunky door grease. Why? Cause I'm OCD. I saw on the MKVI R [on CW anyways] their door hinge grease was color matched.
If this is too absurd, any recommendations for removing/cleaning the grease currently on the door hinge and replacing it? It comes off as straight forward.
2000 Jetta 2.0L bought used with broken key fob and separate valet key.
Problem: I have always had problems with the electrical system since a little after I bought the car. For example, after unlocking the driver's side door with either key, and starting the car, my hazards would flash and alarm would sound (car thinks I'm trying to steal it). I fixed that by disabling the alarm.
Just recently however, I locked my car as usual (pressed the button on drivers side door locking all doors except for drivers side and then manually locking the drivers side door). When going back to my car the next morning, I put the key in drivers side door and turned--- NOTHING. The key (both fob and valet) turns both ways but the drivers side door will not unlock and I am stuck getting locked out frequently.
Just recently in the last month (owned the car since aug 07) I have noticed large amounts of wind noise around the driver side door. At first I thought it was on just windy days, then it started to get worse every day. I'm taking it in to vw to check the seals around the door, but I'm not real certain this is the issue since after visibly inspecting the car the seals look pretty solid
