View 5 RepliesI wanted to know that at the moment my prius does not automatically locks the doors when reaching above 20km/hr as its suppose to.
I went through the manual and tried to turn the power button on and pushing the gear in N and pressing the lock button but it didn't work.
I normally open my Jetta with the key, as apparently the "remote" works on all doors but the driver's one. I will fix it at some point; anyway, what really disturbs me, is that all the doors get locked after a short time I start driving and stay closed even when I stop and turn off the engine. It's very inconvenient because I normally always put something I need to reach on the back seats etc. Can this behavior be changed? Do I have some options?
View 9 RepliesStarting a few days ago both of my key FOBs stopped locking the car. They both can still unlock the car and open the trunk, but they cannot lock the car. However the doors can still be locked from the button inside the door. From that I know the locking mechanisms aren't broken so it must be something electronic. What could be causing this?
View 1 RepliesI just got my car a couple weeks ago and still haven't figured out how to lock the doors as I'm getting out of the car without using the key fob. I looked through the manual when I got the car and thought it said that I could just hold down the button for longer. That didn't work.
I saw some threads that mention (no detail) manual locking and how it doesn't enable the alarm...??? I guess I don't understand what 'alarm' they're talking about either. I thought the only anti-theft security measure is is the fact that the keys are chipped. Does an audible alarm go off if the car is broken into?
What am I missing? I feel like my manual describes a lot of options are are not standard or even available on US cars. It's pretty crappy compared to what I got with my old Honda. BTW I don't have the KESSY option.
I recently purchased a 2006 Ford F-150 XLT and don't know very much about it, nor Fords in general. I was just wondering if there is any way to have the power doors unlock automatically when I shift into Park or turn the ignition off? It has the option to have the doors automatically lock once I reach 5-10 mph, but I can't find any information about programming it to unlock automatically. It doesn't have the programmable computer display, so everything requires pressing a bunch of buttons when the key is turned on accessory and things like that. I have kids who are always in the back seats, and it gets annoying trying to get them out of the truck when it's off and I forget to manually unlock them.

View 24 RepliesOkay, i have an issue with both rear doors randomly not locking or unlocking, i have to manually push down on the rear door lock buttons to lock them, then when i try to unlock them they get stuck, then when i pull the inside door handles they pop up again only sometimes.
1. I use keyfob to lock or unlock wont work
2. I manually put key into the drivers door, still not working
3. I use the inside drivers door switch and still doesn't work
Other problem is when I arm the alarm with keyfob, battery goes flat, i think it's sensing that the door is open why its draining the battery. Both front doors work excellent.
Is there any way to disable the alarm honk when locking the doors (2010 GTI)? The sound is obnoxious and I cannot stand it anymore. I took it to the dealer for my 90 day check-up and they said they cannot do it with this model.
I'm pretty sure it can be done with the VAG-COM........ but I don't have one. Is there a way to just unplug the unit that produces the noise.
My key when I press the button will lock all of the doors except the drivers door, I can still lock the drivers door, but only if i put my key in the lock and do it manually. I know on my brothers 02 golf gls it would lock all of the doors with the button on the key.

But it looks like on the Display Audio system, it cannot be set. Can the dealer set it instead?
I recently purchased an '05 Camry LE V6 and noticed that when parking, and turning off the Camry, the doors do not automatically unlock. Is this a programming issue ? Also, can the Camry be programmed to unlock all doors with on click on the FOB ? On my '08 Highlander, when stopping, and putting into park, the door locks unlock automatically. Toyota was able to program the HL so that all doors unlock with a single click.
Also, is there a way to program a new FOB ? I purchased a second FOB for the car. to program the FOB to work with the Camry. So, can the Camry/FOB be programmed the same way as my Highlander ?
Last night while getting the circus out of the car, the door didn't get locked. This morning I went out and found the old iPhone I had in my console was missing - the usb cord was strewn across the drivers seat for good measure. So as I'm here changing passwords to anything that may have been connected to that device - I'm wondering if there's a setting that can automatically lock the doors if I happen to forget...

She has been pressing button of remote to unlock doors. She didn't even know the door can be open automatically when she insert hard into the handle. She also didn't know about the car pool green stickers, is it too late to apply? She just send in her form yesterday.

If I leave the car unlocked and I stand in the proximity of the car, after about a minute or so, the lights will flash and lock the doors automatically (without me pushing the fob button). At first I thought the button was being pressed accidentally, but I proved myself wrong by taking the keys out my pocket and laying them on the garage workbench. Is this normal ?
View 10 RepliesI traded in my '03 Camry for a '16. In my '03 Camry, if I did not lock the doors after closing them and walking away, they would automatically lock after 30s-1min. I can't seem to get my '16 Camry to do the same thing. I found the "Auto Lock Timer" feature in the "Vehicle Customization" of the ETune Audio System display. I tried setting it to 30s or 60s and standing outside of the car, but the doors do not lock, even after 5 minutes. What I can do to get them to lock automatically?
View 14 RepliesI have an 06 Limited with the smart key, and am trying to find out if there is a way to lock the doors automatically. It seems there's all kinds of things the smart key can do, but this isn't one of them. Between the Engine Immobilizer and the smart key, they can be set to do everything automatically except lock the doors. I know the smart key can lock the doors from the outside, but you have to press the door lock button on the smart key which isn't much of an improvement over just sticking a dumb key into the door lock.

This is not the first time this has happened, lucky I was at home and went inside to get the other key. What did I do wrong or how can i prevent this from happening again?
