On the MKVI Golf, is there a way to disable the DRL logo in the dash without having the DRLs off? I don't mind the headlights turned on....but the logo in the dash bugs me.

I found something on Ross-Tech's website, but it doesn't seem to apply to our cars specifically, or does it? Like, specifically the way I want it (chime down, icon stays) with success, and can walk me through it?

My 08 has this blinking red light with key logo on my dash, when I lock it through the key, it stays on and does not blink. No problem with starting, steering wheel, and keys has new batteries.
View 3 RepliesI'd like to turn off my drl's.....getting new front bulbs and going to install some led's to use as drl's. Up to now, I've only read about using VAG-COM to turn off. I just came across a YouTube demo about turning off drl's by pulling out switch on dash, disconnecting switch from connector and bending down a prong inside the connector. Sounds and looks simple. I haven't seen this method written up on Vortex before....

View 15 RepliesThe backup camera under the vw logo staying open. Mine takes at least 10 seconds to close, and if I don't wait and turn off the car, it will remain open which prevent you from opening the hatch. It's become extremely annoying, especially Christmas shopping in the rain!!

I think if your parking brake is engaged they are on but if its just headlights on they turn off. Also I'll just whore this pic of my R ....
I've got a 2012 base model Golf. The key fob does not work and I have to lock the car manually. The issue is when I unlock the car, the alarm goes off. Quite annoying in early morning hours or in full parking lots with people staring at me. I'm looking to either disable the honking portion of the alarm, or just completely disable it.

I just want to know how to turn my DRLs off on my GTi, its the sunroof nav package with BI Xenons. I think I heard you need to use VAG COM to load some special code, and that's about all I heard. So where to get it to turn these off.
View 12 RepliesSo, just recently i had both of my DRLs burn out. They both burnt out at the same time which I thought was weird but I thought that it was because of how cold it was here that it may have happened that way. So, I bought new ones and replaced one side and went to check it, nothing. Took it back out, checked the connections and reinstalled it. Nothing again. I looked at the fuses but didn't notice any blown ones so I am stating to think it is a head light switch.

I know there's a way to wire the city lights and fogs to run together, but I love the way the halogen DRLs look and i would like to run them together with the fogs. I do have a Euro switch.
I'd like to run my DRL's and Fogs at the same time in auto mode. Currently if you have the headlights set to auto and turn on fogs it enables the regular headlights as well. Id like only the U shaped DRLs and the fogs.
View 2 RepliesTook the R in the touchless car wash Monday night and immediately drove home and parked in my garage. I went in to eat and came back out into the garage about 2 hrs later and noticed my replica A6 DRLs were on. I noticed that when I shook the wiring they would flicker but stayed on. I took off all the electrical tape and noticed water had somehow made it's way into the relay. I blew air on the relay and the receptacle. I then greased up the relay prongs and plugged it back in and shook the wiring again and the lights still flickered and stayed on. I pulled the relay to keep the DRL off so they wouldn't kill my battery. Hopefully when I plug the relay back in tonight, all the moisture will have dried up and the DRLs will only light up on ignition as their supposed to.
My question is: How do I keep moisture from getting into the relay in the future? I thought it was very well taped up with electrical tape, but water still managed to make it to the relay. I was going to reluctantly wrap the works with Saran Wrap and tape up the ends but that's the kind of ghetto fix that I usually stay away from.

View 2 RepliesSo looking to replace the passenger side front LED fog light assembly as the one that's currently on the car has a bad seal or something and lets water in. I have a new LED assembly but I'm lost with how exactly I'm to get the new part in. I've searched for diagrams regarding the replacement of the part and found one diagram that said the front bumper had to be completely removed from the car but I find that a bit hard to believe... (Then again its euro so maybe it's not hard to believe). Can the lower intake grill on the passenger side not just be pulled out or something? 2012 Golf R MK6....

View 4 RepliesI have searched and can not find what the issue is, only dead ends, had NAV out a little while ago for screen repair, put it back in and not it is not accurate, no GPS logo under the compass on the screen, so I assume the GPS plug is not seated all the way in( this is all my search info returned) , removed and checked all the plugs and they seemed all plugged in good.....but I don't know which is the GPS antenna that I really need to be focusing on...

How can I eliminate it? Just worried that it might drain the battery. Any reset procedure or anything? I can't see any instruction on the owners manual.
How to change the Toyota Logo that appears on the screen when you start the car? I know there is an option for that in the Settings menu toward the bottom. There is a preset Toyota logo and the user may add more or modify the current one. There is an option to extract from USB, but when I do it says failed.
My usb flash drive is formatted properly, and I do have pictures in there that I would like to put. However, it says to refer to the Toyota User Guide for picture information, but I cannot find it anywhere.
Perhaps my pictures are too big for the screen, so that is why?
My MFD now only shows the Toyota Logo, whatever I do. Also, I cannot play music. The trick with pressing (hold) INFO and headlights three times does not bring up a diagnostic screen. My theory is that the MFD is waiting for some signal over the network before showing the usual screen (and it never gets that signal). Some years ago, I had a third party fit a new audio tuner and player (non-Toyota), and that worked more or less fine for years.
They had to leave the old faulty Toyota audio in the circuit to make it all work, and they said to leave the graphic equaliser on even settings, and then forget it. The old Toyota audio CD changer had failed, but the rest was OK. My 'guess' is that they had to leave the old audio device connected because it terminates the AVC-LAN with a 60 ohm resistor. Maybe that connection came off, and now the LAN signals are not good, and the MFD is locked up 'always waiting' for the signal from an ECU.
