I checked the owners manual and didn't see anything. I've noticed that when I stop on a hill and let off the brakes the car doesn't roll back. Its holding the brakes for me on an incline, I am assuming its normal, but kinda surprised I didn,t see anything in the owners manual or on the window sticker about it
View 6 RepliesI have a 2012 Toyota Camry and I noticed that when I am on a slight upward hill, my Camry will slowly roll back if I don't have my brake pedal applied. Does this happen to you and is it normal? This is my first new car and my old car which was a 94 lincoln never did this even on very steep hills.
View 14 RepliesI drive a 2016 Golf TSI S and I am having this weird brake problem. Every time I try to modulate my braking, it would suddenly bite and brake hard then let go. It feels like the front and back brakes are not in sync or something. This happens when I am going slow or less than 20mph. Its really hard to slow down to a smooth stop especially in traffic when this happens.
View 1 RepliesI have been having problems with my drivers side power window on my 06 Ford F-150. At first, it would roll down, but wouldn't roll back up, so I replaced the switch. After replacing the entire power window control switch, if you push the switch for the drivers window down, it will start to go down, then stop, and you have to press it about 20 times to get it all the way down. You can definitely hear the switch clicking off. All the other windows work perfect. I took it to get the oil changed and asked about it, and they said to change out the regulator, which I did, but the same thing happens. I checked the fuse and that was fine. Is there a relay or something I should check?
View 12 RepliesI drive a 2011 GTI. The other day I left my car parked in the sun for a while so it was all hot and stuffy inside when i came back. I rolled down all four windows and then pulled out the key after they were all the way down. Within like 3-5 sec, all four windows rolled back up by themselves.
This kinda threw me off cause I didn't expect that to happen. I tried to show my friend later to impress him but it didn't do it. So im thinking whether that was just one of those freaking moments that only happens once, or is this an actual feature that comes in the GTIs.
So for some reason today, my passenger (front) window decided that it doesn't want to stay shut when I auto roll it from both the driver and passenger side switches. It will go all the way up, and then roll back down approximately 2-3 inches like it is doing a pinch protection. If it is rolled all the way up manually it stays up. I have visually checked the track and don't see any obstructions, which I didn't expect to find since it will stay up when done manually. Is there something I'm missing or an easy fix?
View 6 RepliesI've had this problem a couple times now. I start the car in the garage, take the parking brake off and try to move forward. Car does not move, but inches forward like I still have had the parking brake on. I double check, it's off. And to state the obvious, I do not have my foot on the brake.
I think maybe it's hill assist, though my garage barely has an incline that probably wouldn't trigger hill assist. I try to put it in different gears and attempt to accelerate in reverse, same thing.
So, that leads me to believe, are my brakes stuck? I steadily accelerate and the car finally budges. I hear a loud "POP-TWANG!!" under the car like I just popped the parking brake. The car lurches forward and I drive out of the garage normally.
I don't hear or see any other performance issues after this under normal city driving. This was after the car was not used and was in the garage overnight or longer. I did drive a few hundred miles the day before but not under significant load or stress on the car.
We had light snow here in Boston tonight, and its a little chilly, nothing crazy. I get into my car after finishing work, start the car as normal and clear the snow off the windows.
Get back in the car, select 'R' and the car doesn't roll back like usual... I apply some gas and... nothing. I try 'D' and again the engine just revs - its just totally failing to get any gears. Engine oil levels are good.
I just recently replaced the driver side 4-button window switch with one from AARodriguez (FixmyVW.com) on my 2001 MKIV Golf. The new switch had been working fine, but over the last few months, the back windows intermittently wouldn't roll down. It was a gradual process that started when I realized that the windows would actually start to roll back DOWN when I was rolling them UP, or was it vice versa... regardless, it was backwards, and I would have to do it a few times to get it to work properly.
Now, the windows won't roll down at all using the driver's switch, but I do hear a click in the back doors as though some connection is being made. The windows just won't budge. The switches on the back doors work flawlessly, so I don't think it's the motors. The switches for the front windows on the new 4-button switch work fine. There's always a possibility I got a bum switch, or that this one went out, I suppose.
I have a 2013 RX 350 AWD and I'm wondering if it is equipped with hill assist. If so, how does it work?. On my other ride (Q50), the car won't roll backwards on a hill if I let go of the brake.
View 5 RepliesWhen driving Prius v 2012, I've noticed that prius will roll back a bit when stopped on a steep slope. I think it is due to cvt transmission design.
For example Subaru have a "hill holder" button, I did not noticed anything like this on prius or is there one?
When parked nose down in a steep (and narrow) driveway, was unable to get it into gear to back out. After many, many tries it finally got into gear and backed up. Seems to be working fine otherwise. Needless to say, no more parking in the driveway, What do you think it will take to repair this??

View 9 RepliesRecently had a driver's side window replaced in my 99 GMC Sierra. Also had the regulator and a door handle replaced as they were broken as well, but I knew this going in. Was informed I needed a new master switch and had them order/install.
Today I turned the key on and the window began rolling down on it's own. I hit the switch to stop it, which it did, but only as long as I held the switch down. Now the window is all the way down and will not roll back up. Passenger side window works fine from either switch. Door locks work as well for whatever that's worth.
I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. The driver window controls will not roll down the back windows, but it will close them. What is the issue, I am thinking a broken switch.
View 4 RepliesMy brakes will not stop squealing and it is driving me nuts. I have the stock pads / rotors with 12k miles and three track days. To try and get ride of the noise I have:
- pulled wheels and cleaned all dust from wheels and calipers
- I have the TyrolSport caliper stiffening kit and pulled and greased front bolts
- re-bed in the pads and rotors
- when I had the wheels off and working on caliper bolts the pads looked like there was plenty of material left
I know people have complained about stock setup making noise in cold weather, but that cannot be the case here. It lonely happens at low speeds. What am I missing to get rid of the noise?
I have a 1998 Range Rover. I had 22's put on it for 1 week until I was able to buy regular tires for it. While I had the 22's on I went down a hill going 45 mph, the car began to shake back and forth severely, I thought the tire was about to fall off. Ever since then it squeals when I accelerate, and clicks when I turn left and right. I've had the belts looked at. I have no clue.

View 3 RepliesI have a 1999 GMC Jimmy. Today I rolled my power front passenger window down and it's still there. Main Control panel on driver side won't roll it back up and passenger switch won't roll it up either. All other windows and locks work fine and I do not hear anything when trying to roll the window up. Does this automatically mean the motor just went out all of a sudden?

It seems that every time I hit the brakes and come to a complete stop my brakes scream with this annoying squeaky sound ... My car has a little over 800 miles haven't driven hard, or dogged the car just been taking it nice and smooth for a proper break in.
View 20 RepliesOn a steep hill, mine rolls back when the transmission is in high range, but it does not roll back when it's in low. On a mild incline, mine does not roll back when the transmission is in high.
