I seem to have locked myself into valet mode. I have searched this, read the manual, tried everything still cannot get out of valet mode.

View 14 RepliesI am taking my 2012 Sonata Limited in this afternoon because while I was demonstrating the Valet feature of the trunk over the weekend, after I closed the trunk the manual key will not open it. I can insert the key into the lock, but when I try moving it right or left it does not budge.
I did not want to force it and chance breaking off the key in the lock, so I decided to take it in. Hopefully it will be covered by warranty.
I tried both manual keys and neither worked. I also tried the keys in the driver's door and glove-box and they both work fine.
I wonder how they will get into the trunk since the seat release is also in the trunk.
I had to do some work on the car which required disconnecting the battery, Usually the radio goes into safe mode which I unlock using the 4 digit code. However this time i entered the wrong code and the radio went into 02 safe mode?? Now the radio is not responding at all to any inputs from the buttons, its literally locked. I have disconnected the battery again and left it for a bit hoping it would clear it but no luck it still says 02 safe and I can't enter the code to unlock it.
View 5 RepliesProblem started after an ignition coil went bad where '06 Accent w/ 45000 miles locks into 3rd gear failsafe mode. Changed coil and plugs, flushed transmission fluid and refilled with SPIII. Old fluid was very dirty but not full of metal bits. Car still goes into failsafe first time it reaches 3rd gear after initial startup. If you disconnect and reconnect battery after driving for 1-2 miles in 3rd gear the car works fine. Even after sitting for an hour and still slightly warm car works fine. If car gets cold again 2-3 hours later in winter you go into failsafe in first mile. Once again battery disconnect/reconnect puts it back to normal. I assume it is some type of sensor going bad and don't want to have a repair shop replacing good parts.
View 5 RepliesI'm a new prius owner. I noticed that when I'm driving and the doors are LOCKED the door will open if I pull the handle. Only the drive and passenger side opens when LOCKED in drive mode. The back two door DOES NOT open when LOCKED in drive mode. Is this normal?
View 4 RepliesI was driving along today and my dash lit up light a Christmas tree. I got PCS, ABS, Brake and BSM lights and I was locked out of first gear in manual mode. Other than the lights and having to driving in auto mode, the car drove fine. When I got home I inspected the rear suspension and saw that the driver's side speed sensor's rubber shielding where it attaches to control arm was damaged. It was not completely severed, but there was a hole and some exposed copper wiring. I had SPC rear control arms and RSR coilovers installed and the car was lowered about 1.3 inches in rear. I was able to use extra copper wire and electrical tape to temporarily fix the problem. After all the wires where connected and shielded with electrical tape, I got zero lights when I started the car.
I'm not sure how it happened. Maybe the wire was damaged during install or it was pinched due to car being lowered. Whatever the case, make sure the wire is secured in a way to avoid being pinched during suspension travel. I ordered the new wire and will attempt to replace. Looks pretty straight forward except the wire goes into the interior of the car somewhere. I read that I will have to remove rear seats. If so, that should be pretty easy. Is there something I'm missing? Will any of the rear interior need to be removed? How to do this?
I have a UK right-hand drive Prius gen 2 2006 T4 model.
My rear door on the driver's side won't unlock. it appears to be stuck in double locked mode. It cant be unlocked manually from inside the car and the lock button just springs back to lock position (as you'd expect it to do when in double lock mode).
I can lock/unlock the car other 3 doors using the fob, I can lock/unlock the cars other 3 doors using the internal button on the driver's door.
I suspect there must be a failure of the lock motor or solenoid inside the door but I cant figure out how to get the door unlocked just so i can get the trim off and check. What the cause or remedy could be?
[URL]............... How to take out the transponder out of a non valet key? I don't wanna cut open the spare key without remote entry.
View 14 RepliesLong story short, I believe someone stole my valet key and I want to deactivate it. I've read the instructions
You can erase all the keys and start over by turning a working master key 6 times and then opening and closing the door 7 times. Then remove the key and reprogram again.Click to expand...
from Programming New Keys, but I'm afraid if I erase all my keys how will I reprogram it? Will it accept the first master key inserted to the program, since there will be none stored in the memory? Will I need to do the initial procedure to marry a master key to the ECU and let it set for 30 minutes?
This is a gen1 Prius, but I believe it uses the same interlock system.
Bought the 04 Solara with just the Gray Valet key that has the transponder in it.
Valet key will start the car but not lock/unlock the glove box or truck lock.
Do I need a black Master key to program a new transponder key?
or can I do it with the Valet key since it has (I think) the same transponder chip?
Had a friend at vw change my haldex fluid and the next day I'm driving my tires locked then let go and skidded a bit now my car is making a very weird noise from the rear and where the haldex is located I'm getting a bit of leaking.
View 24 RepliesI have a mk6 golf tsi (highline/gt). While cleaning it I found out that if you sit in the car and use the key to lock it there's no other way to get out other than using the key. What if someone gets locked inside in a hot day? I for example am claustrophobic. In my other car (2004 e class) you can open the door even if the car is locked. I have the multifunction display can I fix it from there?
View 15 RepliesI replaced the rear brakes on my 2003 Jetta 2.0. Reman. Calipers, new pads and rotors.
I bleed the rear right and then the rear left. Have full pressure in the pedal but the disc in grinding at low speeds and when I apply the brakes the rear wheels almost lock up.
I normally open my Jetta with the key, as apparently the "remote" works on all doors but the driver's one. I will fix it at some point; anyway, what really disturbs me, is that all the doors get locked after a short time I start driving and stay closed even when I stop and turn off the engine. It's very inconvenient because I normally always put something I need to reach on the back seats etc. Can this behavior be changed? Do I have some options?
View 9 RepliesSo I have a 2.0L jetta with 160,000ish (daily driven) miles. And I'm starting to see a bit of a shifting issue mostly into third. Seems like I get locked out of the gear while shifting from second to third. I have to push it in(catches the "lock out") then I pull back and push forward again and it pops in. I rarely miss gears or grind. And I've noticed only a few times it does it in fourth as well. No grinding (unless I try to force it super hard) just won't let me go into gear.
Also while on subject of gear issues...
When I go into reverse, after the car has been sitting over night or for a longer period ( I would say between 8-14 hours) it will act up, almost like I am trying to drive with the parking brake fully engaged. In order to make it stop such bad behavior I have to rev it higher and it makes a *pop* or *crack* noise. Then it reverses just fine.
I've done a little bit of searching, "Look for a binding in the engine bay" and I have looked and haven't found much.
I have a 3 year old that sits behind my passenger seat and I put the seat all the way front and leaning forward so she doesn't kit the seat (and mess up the back of the seat with her dirty shoes).
The problem is, she then has a habit of kicking the seatbelt that is dangling on the side because it's fun to pull daddy's chain while he's driving. So I pulled the seatbelt over the headrest of the passenger seat to move it out of her way.
Now the seatbelt is tight and I can't get it to release so I can pull it off the headrest. How to release the tension? If not, how do I remove the bottom panels to get at the mounting bolt so I can just unbolt it and take it off?
Went to have 2007 Rabbit "flashed" tp get rid the rev hang problem. Shop said they do this all the time, but for some reason my ECU is locked and they cant get into it. What was going on. Strictly stock. What is going on?
View 1 RepliesSo I've noticed a problem. When I go to lock my doors with the keyfob my drivers side door doesn't lock. Manually I can turn the key and lock it. Now what's weird is my drivers door will lock when I press the lock button on the inside of the door(the button on the handle). So I'm pretty sure the actuator isn't bad since the door will lock via the inside button, maybe I'm wrong though? Not really a super bad problem but annoying nonetheless.
View 4 RepliesOk so I don't really use the back seats too often but on a carpool ride one of my friends whos riding in the back mentions that the armrest/tray wont come down. Im like WTF so when I get home I realize it really is stuck and im trying to find a way to fix it to no avail. Is there something really simple that I am not seeing or is it really broken?
View 6 RepliesI have recently picked up a 2011 Gti and I have 2 questions.
1. Is there anyway to disable that annoying honk when you lock the doors w/o a vag-com? I've searched but didn't find anything.
2. Need to know if the Golf R has the same suspension as this car? Obviously spring rates and specs might be different but I may get airbags for my current car and would like to take off the bags and put them on the R if I pick one up.
I can't get the trunk to open while the car is locked from a normal standing position. I used to be able to, but now I have to rub up against my car to open it. gotta hump the back of my gti to open trunk... its been 3 months. is the key already dead?
