View 7 RepliesIs there a way to disable the horn when locking the car without VCDS? I couldn't find anything in the car menus?? I got my car last night and coming home I was trying to be quiet as to not wake my gf and/or neighbors and realized just how loud the horn is when locking the car. I have to disable this some how.
View 13 RepliesIs there any way to disable the alarm honk when locking the doors (2010 GTI)? The sound is obnoxious and I cannot stand it anymore. I took it to the dealer for my 90 day check-up and they said they cannot do it with this model.
I'm pretty sure it can be done with the VAG-COM........ but I don't have one. Is there a way to just unplug the unit that produces the noise.
Is there a way to get the vehicle to honk or beep when locking the car with the remote? I tried single click, double click, and triple click on the lock button and the lights flight, but no audible feedback. Is this really not an option? I checked my horn, it works.
View 24 RepliesI only have one thing I want to change on our new GTI (which happens to be the ONLY thing I miss from our A3).
When we locked the A3, it gave a nice, short, clean, electronic "beep." However, locking the GTi generates a mildly annoying, and just-a-bit-too-loud "honk."
Is there any way to make the GTI "beep?" Is it as simple as coding, or does it require an add on part to actually make that noise?
I have a 2013 Limited w/o nav, and 3 days ago I noticed my car won't honk after I lock it using the key fob, but it will lock it. How can I turn that feature back on? I like that reassuring honk! If I can avoid a trip to the dealership, that'd be best!
View 6 RepliesCouldn't find anything in the manual about changing the settings to avoid the doors locking automatically when I reach 10 mph. I realize I'll eventually get used to it but until then it's driving me nuts.
View 6 RepliesWhat is the procedure to disable the horn beep when locking the car (without using VAG-COM)?
View 7 RepliesLove the car..... really wish it would honk or chirp when I lock the doors. Any clue how to make this happen? All that happens now are the lights flash....
View 16 RepliesRecently purchased a new 2012 Corolla S and when hitting the lock button and unlock button not only does the car chip but the horn honks. I think this sucks. How can I stop that from happening.
View 7 RepliesI am used to hitting my lock button on my key fob and hearing the horn honk to confirm it is locked. Is there a way to have the horn blow as well as see the lights bling to indicate the doors are locked?
View 17 RepliesI am another "got explorer totaled and bought an F150" story. Picked up a 2013 FX4 eco. What a difference 10 years in technology makes, from a 03 exploder to this, wow!
Is there any way to program a 2013 FX4 to honk once with the door lock and twice with unlock? It ahs option pgk 402A with perimeter alarm.
Also does Ford sell a siren add-on so I can tell if it is my truck in trouble? I found DL3Z19A361A Can't find the contents on line and the parts guy does not know what it contains.
How I can disable the horn toot each time I want to lock the car? The lights flashing is sufficient I think.
View 14 RepliesI have a 1993 Grand Prix. Just wondering, how to disable the auto locking on this Pontiac Grand Prix? The switch stopped working and I would just like to disable it rather than try to figure out why the switch does not have power.
View 1 RepliesI was told by the Lexus service dept. that they could do it for $30, so I was wondering if there was a way to do it for less money or no money at all. It's for a 2004 RX 330.
View 11 RepliesIs it possible to disable the automatic door locking when the car reaches speed via VCDS. So the actuators don't wear out so quickly.
View 4 RepliesI'm slowly reading through the ES-350 manual, picking and choosing parts to read. There are several 'Personalized Preferences' that I've noted down and will have addressed at my 1st month service.
I noticed on pg. 21 of the manual that there are settings to set and cancel the door-locking/unlocking functions. These functions are also mentioned in the 'Personalized Preferences' section, so there is overlap here (on paper anyways).
Anyways I tried a couple of times to follow the instructions on pg. 21 to disable the door locking and unlocking when the car is placed in Park and Neutral.
It didn't work for me. The instructions aren't all that clear to me, nor of what they are supposed to accomplish. I'd like to not have the doors lock when I place the shift out of Park and not have the doors unlock when I place the shift into Park.
Stereo started to get bad static last night eventually died so all I heard coming from the speakers was static and popping type noise. Once I got home from work alarmed the car and noticed no honk when I alarmed it. I disconnected the connections to the amp in the trunk and pushed on the stereo to make sure it was secure. Left for work this morning had sound for about 20min then it went out completely again and still no honk when alarming car at work? Could it be a sign of a dying battery?
View 8 RepliesIt's not particularly bothersome, I actually kind of prefer it but i'm just wondering if its something I did, perhaps a sequence of button presses on the remote that made it stop honking every time I lock it. It just started happening out of the blue and now it doesn't honk anymore, started 4 days ago
View 7 RepliesI found out why my alarm would not honk on arming.. the hood microswitch had fallen out of the latch.. i can't for the life of me find the right place for it.. Looking for a pic of the proper install?
View 18 RepliesI have just purchased a 2013 Passat, SEL Premium. In my GTI, I could disable traction control with the "ESR off" button. I do not see anything like that on the display. Is this a menu function somewhere? While I do not need it all the time, when we do get deep snow, the traction control needs to be disabled.
