in my 2011 jetta i got a low tire pressure icon on my dash, turns out there was a nail in my tire, i repaired it and filled all of my tires to the ideal tire pressure and now 3 days later the icon still shows on my dash....?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 F350 that has been throwing the "tire pressure monitor fault” on the dashes info center. Here is where it started. I purchased new wheels, tires and sensors a few weeks ago. I put them on and they were fine on the way home because I assume that the stock ones where still being read (they were in the bed of the truck). Put the old ones in the garage and then while driving to work the next morning I got the message. I tried to reset or “learn” the new sensors that night with no luck. There are two ways to get my truck into learn mode. One uses the hazard flashers then releasing some of the tire pressure until the truck horn beeps. The other method is a series of break pumps and turning the ignition from on to off then using the TPMS tool that apparently comes with the truck.
The truck went into learn mode every time with either method but it would never recognize the new sensors. After attempting everything on the sensors I checked to see if for some reason the trucks actual monitor was in a “fault” mode. Last night I tried relearning the old stock sensors with great luck. They all were recognized… for about 10 minutes. After getting them to work I left the shop I work at and on the way home the "tire pressure monitor fault” came back again. So just in case something had been in sleep mode when I did it I pulled over and reset them once more. Again with great luck… until this morning on the way to work again it went back to fault mode even with the stock wheels still in the bed.
2009 Ford Explorer, 6cyl, 4L, 33K miles. When its started up, the message "Tire Sensor Fault" appears along with the low tire icon flashing (steady light after ~30 seconds). I can then press the reset button on my dash to clear the message. However, the tire light icon stays lit. I've checked and re-checked the tire pressure in all the tires (spare included) and I'm right at the recommended 32-34 psi on all the tires. No signs of leaks at all. I'm assuming one (or more) of the tire pressure sensors have gone bad and there's no way for a garage (or myself) to identify which one or repair this. Should I assume a trip to the dreaded dealer for this problem ???
View 10 RepliesI bought a used certified 2012 Toyota Camry LE with 6000 miles on it directly from the main and larger Toyota dealer two weeks ago, I chose to get original tires inflated with nitrogen which is a service provided by dealer.
Right now I'm realizing that the display screen is not showing me the tires at all, just the trip and gas consumption stats.
Before taking the car to dealer and get in line is there a way system may be reset so tires and of course pressure data are properly displayed?
The tire pressure warning light has been on in my car for about a week. The dashboard computer says that the tire pressure in the front right tire is 17 psi, but when I use the pressure gauge, the reading is almost 40 psi. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing this problem?
View 16 RepliesJust bought the car last week and I am getting somewhat used to the "bells' and whistles" as a new Prius owner. The owner's manual as well as the Nav/Entune manual describe the Tire Pressure Monitoring System as having not only an icon for low pressure on the dash indicator display, but "if equipped" a separate display on the Nav/Entune display which will give the readout for all tires including the low tire "when it senses a low tire condition" (taken from the manual).
I thought my v-five was equipped with the second feature but it will not display when selecting the "Car" button on the panel. I tried deflating a tire and in fact the icon appeared on the dash,(for a low tire) but I still was unable to read individual tire pressures on the Nav/Entune display.
My dealer says the only place he has seen the individual pressure display was on a Highlander.
We are having extremely cold weather. Yesterday my low air pressure icon came on. When I went to check the air pressure, I could not remove any of the caps.
View 5 RepliesMy is350 F sport tire pressure sensors. Well I have after market wheels with the stock tire pressure sensors, when they were first installed everything was fine, now about 2 months later now that it is a little cooler. My two back sensors are showing the warning light. it still reads the pressure and shows correct pressure but sensor warning light for both rear tires are on. Why this is? I was thinking the colder weather but why only the rear two and not the front. they go off and on but lately both have been on.
View 3 RepliesOur 2011 SD 6.7. 190,000 km Came home after a week off and started the truck up via the command start, when I got in it the little red battery icon was lit up on the dash. Well this is my 3rd SD and in the past I always ended up needing an alternator when that light came on. So off to the dealer and was about to replace it, the service rep. stated the alt. was ok and there was something else wrong and it was turning the light on.
So you think here goes my next weeks pay looking for the Needle in a hay stack. Guys the Tech who is a great guy found a 18 guage red wire that runs from the pass. side battery under and infront of the motor not in any real wire harness and it goes to the alt. had some corrosion forming in under the insulation causing some resistance, and it was telling the system to turn the dash light on.
The tech replaced the bad wire and all is good now. Also you can test the out put of the Alt. and it will show around 15 volts with the truck running even with the red icon on, so you will know it's the bad wire and not an Alt.
All of a sudden I have only one light (Driving lights)) on the dashboard. I used to have two. I have the Driving Light indicator showing but the headlight indicator light is not lighting up.
The headlights come on OK but not the indicator showing the headlights are on.
I had my wheel replaced, new tire put on but the tire pressure monitoring system is still telling me "Tire Pressure Too Low" and there's an icon in the speedometer of a tire with an exclamation point in it that flashes....
View 24 RepliesI'm having an obvious tire pressure loss on my rear left tire. Fill it up and in a few days I get the warning. I don't see any holes or anything. My question is this. Whats the cheapest route to go about this? I bought the car in June, so wondering if warranty would even cover tires? Is it worth a try? Not sure if I should take to the dealer to check it out, or just a town fair tire place.

But without me doing anything, for a while I got/had a 'house' icon showing for my 'home' point on the map. It has since disappeared. It is now that red circular thingy again but with a number 2 in it?
View 4 RepliesWhich tire each of the tire pressure readings on the dash belong to? I have a 2007 LS460 and apparently had a nail in a tire that was slowly losing air. It took a bit of extra time to test each tire to discover the culprit. The dash displays tire pressure readings (1-5 including the spare) for each tire's PSI. Which one is the correlating tire for each reading (1-5). I checked the manual and it was not clear which reading position went to which tire.
View 5 RepliesOur winter tires on the 2010 prius have the pressure sensors insalled in the wheels. Yet, ever since they were installed, the tire pressure light has been on on the dash. I have checked the tire pressures numerous times, and they are okay. In fact I now have the tires slightly over inflated instead of at spec, and it's still on. Do the sensors go bad in the wheels? We've had no issues with the system with the summer tires and wheels.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2011 GTI, has about 4000 miles on it. Sunday went for a quick ride down some FM's and on the hi-way. Got up to about 85mpg for about 10 miles, hit the exit back to the house which is only about a mile away. On that mile ride home I took it real easy maybe 35-45 mph decided to have a little AC also (outside temp 90F degrees).
I pulled into the garage sat and idled for about 30 seconds, on the MF display up pops the Cruise Control Malfunction icon ( amber on the MFI,But the owners manual says it's RED. it's a cruise symbol with a giant exclamation ) then it goes away. I looked at my cruise stalk, cruise was Off. I turned it on and up Pops the Malfunction Icon again then goes Off. Took the GTI back out and No Cruise malfunctions. Also, when I did finally park the Car both cooling fans were on for at least 4-5 mins after I had shut everything down.
Did I run my little GTI too hard? Is the Cruise control Malfunction icon like a nuisance message that doesn't really mean anything or, is it a sign CC it's already toast, or getting ready to go.
I own a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, my grandma owns a 2014 Sonata, and my other grandparents own a 2011 Sonata. On their cars, when their low tire pressure light comes on, the little display inside the RPM gauge shows them which tire is low. My low tire pressure light comes on and works, but for some reason it doesn't indicate which tire is low. It'll tell me which door is opened, but won't show which tire is low. How to fix this, or why it's happening?

View 18 RepliesThis happened once right after I bought the car in February and the service center said that I didn't have low tire pressure, but it registered because "cold air makes the air molecules move slower and sets off the tire pressure sensor". Yet all my tires are at 37 psi. Now this stopped all through the spring, summer and fall and last night it went down to 32 degrees and the thing popped up again!
View 4 RepliesI had a low tire indicator show up on the dash today while driving home. It was flashing. I continued to drive, (only a mile from home) since there was no indication of anything going wrong with the tires. Then, the indicator stopped flashing, and went to steady. Then, by the time I hit the brakes to turn down my road, the indicator was gone. So, I checked all my tires, and with my very old accoutre gauge, they all showed 34.5 (35 being the spec). I hope to not see that again.
