I have a 2010 JSW TDI and when I shut off the engine, sometimes the front windshield wipers "jump" up about half an inch. This also causes a "clunk" sound when they hit against the windshield. It has not been raining where I live so I didn't accidentally leave it in intermittent or anything. Is this normal? I'm beginning to get worried that there may be an electrical problem with my Jetta.
View 24 RepliesWe were borrowing my brother-in-law's 2006 Jetta and the day after a snow storm, the windshield wipers stopped working. They came up half way and then stopped and don't move further. You can hear a whirring noise,like something is trying to go, but no movement. We've been quoted $500-600 to replace the windshield wipers and motor, but we don't think they need to be replaced, just repaired.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2006 Dodge Caravan that when I drive at highway speeds and it's wet out, my air bad light comes on and about 50% of the time, the radio, fan, windshield wipers, and 12v outlet stop working suggesting the fuse or some other wiring is getting wet. The dealer cannot replicate and will not suggest any fixes. What do I have my local mechanic replace or seal?
I know there's a Chrysler recall on 2005-2006 Caravans, #J38, but my Caravan falls outside the specs by 2 mths (it was for vehicles in service between Jan 2005 and April 2006).
Noticed yesterday when I turn my car off, the wipers move about an inch. It is very odd. Is there something I am missing?
View 3 RepliesI have a mkvi gti with all stock suspension except rear sway bar. And I'm right about to order driver gear springs. But have a question about suspension. My rear driver side of the car sits about half inch lower then then rear passenger side on a flat ground. Would this be caused by springs? Or struts? Or what. Planning on ordering the driver gear springs but what the real problem is. I want the driver gear so I'm a bit lowered but not crazy low since the roads in my home town are awful and my street I have to do figure 8's all the way down it to not hit a pot hole.

View 2 RepliesWe have a fleet of Prius's with 11k miles on them. Windshield wipers don't work and cigarette lighter plugs don't work. I'm guessing this is due to blown fuses. Where the fusebox is? I'm getting fed up with this. Also, is there a diagram somewhere that shows which fuses are for which circuits? (IE Which number fuses protects windshield wiper circuit) so I can finally see in the rain...
View 8 RepliesAs soon as I start the car the windshield wipers start on their own and wont stop. I diagnosed the relay as my fualt and I was partly correct. I put the new relay and it worked. However I still had the rear wiper motor disconnected. Once I plugged rear motor back in, the front windshield wipers started going on their own and won't stop again. So, what should be next? Motor diagnoses? I can't see any visual water damage in the motor when the cover is off.
View 8 RepliesWhen driving in the rain, I've had the scary experience of the windshield wipers suddenly stop working. Maybe 30 seconds later, they start working again. I'm just glad the cars in front of me have had their lights on. It even seems that the wipers go the same speed no matter how fast I want them to. Also, the blades do rub against the windshield. Is it the linkage or should I simply replace the blades?
View 2 RepliesLooks like my driver side door leaks at the top when driving with the windshield wipers on. Usually only in a good rain storm will it do this. It isn't pouring in but it's a few drops on my ride home from work today. How would they even try and replicate this at the dealership? Worth taking in since it is just a few drops it is this the precursor to something more devious if not taken care of?

I'm not sure if the this is a problem with the stalks on the steering column or possibly a relay.
When i pull the left stalk my high beams will come on but only when i do that.
The windshield wipers would not turn on at all and the windshield wash would not even spray as well.
I also noticed that my AC/Heat controls wouldnt respond either. Any clue as to what it might be.
I have a 1993 f150. Problem is that the steering wheel can wobble back and forth about a half inch or so. I took the wheel off and it looks like there is a lock ring holding everything in place. I just wondered if there was a solution to this to fix it

I only wash/vacuum my 2007 Camry once a year. Found it while vacuuming the floor mat.
This rubber piece was caught between the carpet and the floor mat near the gas pedal and/or steering column that goes through the firewall.
Coming from an mk4 jetta with solid rear beam i know how the one side can be out a bit from the other. that being said the mk6's rear eand shouldn't be doing that at all right???
Because on my 2010 golf the right rear wheel sticks out more about 1/4" or so than the left. im on air and just got a full alignment done last week with my rear camber set @ -3 degrees on ride height. coz now im rubbing ever so little on bumps on the right rear that is why i noticed. i guess my question....is it normal for mk6's to have this too? if not...what coud be the cause of this?
I have a 2006 Camry LE. It seems as if the wipers on my Camry are not wiping as far as they should/could. Specifically, the driver's side wiper only wipes to about 4" from the edge of the driver's/left side edge of the windshield.
This wasn't so much a problem in the rain, but in heavy snow, it leaves a pretty severe blindspot in the driver's left side of the windshiled. It seems as if the wiper should wipe at least another 2-3" further to remove more rain/snow from the windshield and give the driver a better line of view.
Further, when the wipers come back down, they come to a "clunk" as if they were coming down too far. Is there an adjustment for the wiper arms/wiper motor to allow them to wipe more of the windshield?
