So I recently bought a Ross-Tech cable and have been doing some coding and was a little disappointed when I wasn't able to change the diff lock settings. After exploring a little more I came across Byte 1 bit 6 in CAN Gateway [32] Differential Locking. I tried checking it and then going back to adjust the diff lock settings but still no dice .
My vehicle is 2010 Golf TDI 5 door.
I've been trying to order a 2009 or 2010 V6 TDI. I'm being told by dealers in the seattle area that I can't order an '09, and also that the 2010 will not have the Air suspension, or Rear diff lock.

View 3 RepliesTook 2011 Prius to an oil change service. The "oil change required" message had come on to stay.
Afterward, on the multi-display (I have the smaller, "headsup" display), I see the message, "Settings (Press and hold)". I figured out how to enter the Settings menu, and I have tinkered with every option there-- "Eco", "Steering OFF", etc. But no matter what I do, the "Settings (Press and hold)" message will not go away.
I am trying to set my locking system so that one touch on the remote (lock or unlock) will control both doors and the hatch, instead of having selective unlocking; I can't find this in the MFD menus, and I can't seem to access Controller 46 through VCDS, or anywhere else I'd expect to find that function. but where to change this setting?
View 22 RepliesSo i was installing a led light in the trunk of my car to replace the old halogens an when it came out a spark happened and now i am unable to use my key fob or roll up the windows, lock the car, or get in the trunk. Also already tried to reset both FOBs but they are not working.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 Golf R that has the Kessy system. I get "Keyless Defective" on the screen and am unable to lock/unlock doors by touching the handles. Key fob lock/unlock buttons work fine.
It ended up being a plug had come undone. I have a feeling it's the one that's just under the back of the rear seats. I was installing stereo wiring and it kept coming apart. What to look for under the hatch floor or the seats?
Nothing that was suggested in the forum so far works with my car. I agree with the others that it's not in the manual. Do I need to return to the dealer to get it changed?

View 2 RepliesI just picked up an 09 F250 a couple of weeks ago and I was planning on replacing all the fluids since I'm not sure when everything had been done in the past, but it did pull a camper 5th wheel. It has about 93000 Km/57000mi on it
One thing I noticed when reading the manual is that a rear diff fluid change is not necessary on these rear axles unless they have been submerged in water or repaired etc..
Just after I got it I noticed the pinion seal was leaking. It was fixed under warranty but the dealer did not replace the diff fluid as they said Ford will not pay for it.
My question is do you think I need to replace the diff fluid or should it still be good, given the relatively low mileage.
I have a 2002 F450 2WD AT with the common Dana 80 4.88:1 posi rear diff. If I change the ring & pinion to 4:10 do I need to change the carrier or does my current carrier fit 4:10 & lower [4.63,4.88, 5.13 etc]? Will I need to adjust my speedo readings & if so how is this accomplished? Electronically via the diagnostic port?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2010 4 door GTI. I'd like to install my daughter's front facing Britax child seat either in the rear right or rear central position. However, in either case, I'm finding that most of the rear weight ends up on the headrest and I would like to simply remove the headrest from that seating position.
I read in the user manual that to remove the headrest,I pull it to it's highest position and then push the button on the right side of the plastic entrance of the head rest into the seat, and 'simply' pull the headrest vertical out of the seat.
This is similar to how this was done in other cars I've owned. However it is not working for me with the GTI. Once I pull the headrest to the highest possible position I can get to, I press the button but the headrest simply refuses to come out. I've tried this on the other rear seat and same problem. With the middle rear seat I can't seem to pull the headrest out beyond its lowest position.
I have Toyota camry LE 2003 model. Today evening, my car got started but I was unable to change the gears. Apart from that, my odometer reading goes off. My heater fan also did not start.
It's very cold here in minneapolis, (-10 F outside). Is this because of that? I started my car from my parking lot to shopping mall which is 0.5 miles apart. while coming back, this happened.
The backup camera defaults to normal backup mode and you have to manually select the parking assist functionality. Is there a way to change the default operation to the parallel parking mode? I have looked in the owner's manual and can't find the information. I will admit that I could have missed the information, but I don't think I have.

I find it very distracting to drive with the NAV on when I don't need it, but it's a pain to always have to go through the menus to turn it off every time I drive. My only question is, is there any way to change the settings on the remote start? I lock my car, hit the remote start, car turns on and all is well.
But when I unlock my car, the engine stops running. It just seems a little redundant to have the car shut itself off when its already locked, as other manufacturers seem to keep the car running after the unlock button has been hit.
I am experiencing with my key fobs on my current 2004 Prius. The issue is that I am unable to unlock and lock the car via the SKS Remote, and I am only able to turn on the car via inputting one of the fobs into the slot to turn on the car.
View 19 RepliesI have burnt driver side H4 light but am not able to change it. After turning the rubber dust cover it comes loose but is stuck somewhere (in the middle) and won't come out. The power connector is disconnected.
I don't want to force it out so is there a trick for this? The metal pin is still holding the bulb in.
Is it a big operation to take the whole sealed beam (is that right word for it? The whole front light box I mean) off so I could take a better look. There is not too much space behind the fuse box.
I have a 2010 Toyota Camry 4cyl. My car will automatically change from recirculating air setting to open air on its own. No matter vent setting I have it on. I took it into the dealership. The said they didn't notice anything. So I was checking to see if this is normal, bad relay or switch or whatever.
View 13 RepliesI have a 2013 Prius Wagon. Have noticed that I can go into the General setting and should be able to change from kilometers to miles. Go through all the steps, selecting miles as the new option, and then nothing happens. There is no screen to save settings, so nothing happens.
On the other hand why would those smart apples designing this system just not link to whole process to the button on the dash that changes the speedometer function. Just like it did in my 2005 Malibu!!!
My son used my Santa Fe this afternoon, and when he came home the fob would not lock or unlock doors. Additionally, the door lock button in the car will not work-I had to manually lock all the doors. Car starts. Am I missing something?
