About 2 or 3 days after picking up my car, I started to notice that it sounds like the doors are whistling, almost like there's air coming through. At first I thought that maybe my windows weren't shut all the way, but checked them, then had a passenger point out the same thing on the other door. (3 doors not 4).
View 7 RepliesI have this whistling noise coming from the front area of my truck (97 dodge dakota) 4X4. The noise sounds like air at high pitch (just my opinion and friends), happens around 30 to 40 mph when you hear the whistling noise. I've taped all holes and gaps that might be causing the sound but no avail. I've had a friend look at it, that's a fire truck mechanic and no luck and he said it didn't sound like wheel bearing problem.
View 1 RepliesThe issue began around July/August of this year. It sounds as if the car locks are attempting to lock and unlock while I am driving. It is a clicking sound. The doors will automatically lock when the car is going at 10 mph - this is normal. The locking/unlocking sound sometimes will start within 5 minutes and other times within 30 minutes - it is totally random. This does not happen every day but it is definitely monthly and has lasted anywhere from 3 days to 10 days. The other noise associated with it comes from the console on the passenger side. It is a clicking sound. This sound happens during the locking/unlocking sound but on intermittent cycles. The doors never become unlocked while I am driving. I purchased the car new.

So I jacked up the rear and found that there was play in the passenger rear wheel.. The bolt holding the hub together was tight..

View 7 RepliesIs there any way to disable the alarm honk when locking the doors (2010 GTI)? The sound is obnoxious and I cannot stand it anymore. I took it to the dealer for my 90 day check-up and they said they cannot do it with this model.
I'm pretty sure it can be done with the VAG-COM........ but I don't have one. Is there a way to just unplug the unit that produces the noise.
The speakers themselves are not rattling, but the door panels themselves are. What kind of cheap material did Toyota use on the Gen 5s to cause door 6x9s rattles on the panel when listening to bass heavy music

It was not, and I guessed that there was some other piece of the car that had come loose (similar to a previous incident with my splash guard under the bumper and I just popped it back into place and re-secured the pin).
View 19 RepliesI just noticed this ever since it started to warm up outside. Usually between 4-6 ticks (the lights that light up when you change the power), the whistling is the loudest. It's a very annoying noise and I can't pinpoint the issue. I was thinking it was maybe just some air turbulence within the vent, but even when I put the air to go on the floor only, I still hear it. Wondering if it's something worth taking my car in for. My gf and mom heard the noise as well, so I'm not going crazy. I also compared the air conditioning to my gf's Elantra GT an hers was completely quiet, with no whistling noise. Have this whistling noise with their air conditioning on? It's not really "loud", but it's clearly there. Really is noticeable when I switch between power levels of the air condition.

Kind of alarming considering the car is about 1 year old with 12k miles. Taking it to the dealer for a tire rotation and a oil change next week, I'll have them check it out then.
View 12 RepliesIs there a typical cause for whistling noise on Elantra ? Mine is a 2011. The whistling noise started recently, and occurs only at high speed say 80 kph and higher. It definitely sounds like wind noise, constant frequency no matter the speed. Does not sound like brake noise or belt noise, and does not change with changes in accelerator or brakes. I have taped up most gaps around the front of the car, including all around the windshield, with no impact. Note that I recently fixed a windshield wiper washer nozzle, which necessitated the removal of the plastic assembly that sits atop the bottom part of the windshield. The re-installation went well and everything seems well seated down (I had to replace 4 plastic rivets).

I am a newbie of the Golf R32. There is something curious when the operation speed of more than 120km On the right side of the engine compartment are as mad as a strange noise.
Quite a loud noise like whistling, as a rapidly rotating. Is this the original R32-sounding? I heard this noise because the sound generator is this true?
Had this noise before and can narrow my search for what I need to do to resolve it.

I just recently notice a whistling noise when I hit boost. I'm not sure but it sounds like it is coming from my gauge. I'm not losing boost pressure. I do have a glow shift gauge. The most recent install was the TIP which I clamped on to the turbo but I'm wondering if it isn't on tight enough.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 F250 extend cab 4x4. While traveling about 70 down the freeway I get a whistling noise. It is usually worse when the wind is blowing hard or behind a semi. Wind makes the noise louder so I assume the noise is coming from the air hitting something. Slow down to 50 and noise goes away. Do not think it is mechanical because when a gust hits the truck it is worse. Checked all the windows, windshield and rubber parts. Where I should look.
View 9 RepliesMy APR dealer is double checking on this. Got an APR Stage 1 tune today and am now periodically noticing a whistling/slight rattle when I punch the accelerator. Only appears to happen when I build revs quickly. Never heard anything like this before the Tune.

View 1 RepliesSo out of nowhere my car made a loud whistling/wining noise when i started it up in the morning last saturday. i applied some pressure to the clutch and it went away. talked with a vw master-tech buddy of mine and he said it possibly might be the slave/throwout bearing, but couldn't tell me until the car is opened up for inspection.
Fast forward to this morning, car ran fine and the noise was intermittent. get to a stoplight and the clutch pedal travel was 1/2 what it usually is. made another shift and the pedal fell to the floor. i was able to limp it to my jobs parking lot.
Now as we all know, this isn't an inexpensive repair and while the trans is open would be the optimal time for a clutch replacement. However, the clutch felt fine with no slippage prior to this hiccup. I am opting to just replace parts that are no longer functioning, but if i need to replace the clutch. which kit(s) should i consider? my car is a daily driven with occasional runs thru the mountains and canyons.
My mods: blue haldex controller/miltek catback/neuspeed pulleys/neuspeed chip/vf mounts/among other suspension upgrades.
