I have an 09 GTI that I bought a few months ago and recently I noticed a rubbery squeaking noise whenever I turn my wheel on the right side. It only happens when I'm going slow and only for a short turn of the wheel both ways. I've tried looking at it with the wheel off but I cannot figure it out for the life of me.
View 1 RepliesI've got an '12 F-150 with 7k mi. on it. It developed a squeak/creak noise about 1k. mi. ago. It comes from the r. front suspension area and I noticed it one morning leaving from work. It occurs under suspension loading/unloading and it only happens during cold and dry conditions. It won't make the noise when it's wet or damp outside. I've had it at the local dealer 2 times now and they can't seem to locate it. It sounds like rubber on metal or when the 97 & 98's had the dry tie rod ends or ball joints problem. They are reluctant to throw parts at it to try and eliminate it and I agree with them. What were the findings?
View 5 RepliesThe noise is really only audible when I start the car after a very long cold start. When I put the car in drive and start off slow (yes, I specifically have to start off slow) the front left wheel has a squeaking noise (WITHOUT brakes applied), and it sounds like something going around the wheel (meaning its not constant, it sounds like something going around in a circle, if you can picture the noise...).
Anyway, there is a groove in the middle of the rotor that goes all the way around. The rotor is not worn down at the top, which would mean I need new rotors, but this grove which is in the middle of the rotor goes all the way around the rotor.
What makes this even more weird is that the noise completely goes away after some driving or if I turn the car on after a recent drive (recent being 1-1.5 hours). [URL].................
Quick question : I just noticed a strange "creaking" or "squeaking" coming from my front suspension when I turn the wheel back and forth - while having the car at a stand still in the driveway...
I'm assuming my Strut Mounts (bushings) and/or Strut Bearings have gone and need to be replaced? As the creaking sound really souds like it could be the rubber bushing buckling?...
I just want to be 100% sure this is my issue before ordering the parts. Need to confirm that this noise I'm hearing is bad mounts or bushings? Or is there something else I should take a look at before ordering the parts?

I am recently experiencing some weird squeaking/creaking noises coming from my front suspension.. It manifests whenever I am going over humps faster than usual (or if the humps is not "perfectly sloped"). I seldom experience this during daytime but during nighttime, it is very evident.
this is the list of things that I replaced already:
2x ball joints
2x stabilizer links
2x shock absorbers
2x tie rod
2x rack ends
Did some wheel balancing and wheel alignment already...
I was able to replicate this by parking the car in a slope - parallel to the street with the wheels turned to right or left, and pushing the top fender downwards.
Driving along our streets, highway, and highway curved ramps is flawless.. Could this be bushings on stabilizer bars? or the control arms?
I am having this issue when crossing a bump at high speed, it only sound when the shocks de-compress and only happening in the mornings so I think it might be the piston rod inside the shocks that is "getting dry" on the night and therefore making the sound in the mourning.
View 3 RepliesMy car has been making a weird squeaking noise when I start it up sometimes in the morning. It doesn't happen all the time, and my car has been running great. I drive a 2010 Corolla S. It has about 18,000 miles on it. I just had the Engine Drive Belt Replaced last month. It almost sounds like a belt is causing the noise. I'm going to mention it to the Dealer next time I take it in for a oil change.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2009 Elantra with 150k miles. It has recently started making a squeaking noise when I make left turns. It only does it when the car is moving and only when the turns are moderate to sharp (not on gentle turns). It seems to be coming from the engine bay but I can't really tell for sure. I had the steering column replaced last year. I haven't had any warning lights or adverse driving effects. I have posted a video on youtube with the noise.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 Trailblazer EXT 4wd. I have an issue with my front driveshaft. I have been hearing a squeaking in a tin can kind of sound. It is kind of hard to describe. I thought front brakes. Checked them and they are fine. I crawled up under the front end and took off the skid shield to look around. Since it was in 2wd I tried to turn the front driveshaft by hand and there was the sound. The driveshaft does turn and the sound was appearing to come from the front diff.
I thought "Oh Crap" is there fluid in the front diff. It would make sense if it was empty to make a sound like this. I unscrewed the filler hole and there was fluid. Then I decided to flush and fill the front diff with fresh fluid. It was pretty dark and I don't know when the last time the front diff was serviced. I took it out for test drive and still have the noise. What i am asking now is what to look for next? Like I said, when turning the front driveshaft by hand in 2wd it makes that sound.
By the way, 4wd works just fine in all modes.
I just got a 01 passat the new body style got 197k on it and the suspension at front is making a squeaking noise like an old mattress, what that could be?
View 1 RepliesSounds like worn out brake pads but it is way before they are supposed to get worn out. Took it to dealer they said brakes still have a lot left on them, but it still squeaks like crazy every time I stop. Taking it to dealer again. I am thinking something is defective, pads or rotors, as I just heard another new Santa fe have the exact same squeaking as they were driving along. My car is at 30k km.

It was around 30 degrees out last night and driving and there was some squeaking heard the first time from the right front of the car it sounded like when hitting pot holes or certain dips in the road. Couldn't tell if it was the dash or suspension. Sound's like Styrofoam squeaking. Pretty sure its the suspension. First time I've ever heard any noise since I've had the car, bought used with 20k now has 107k on it.
View 1 RepliesI have a newly purchased 2006 Volvo ST60. It was making a lot of clacking noises so I had the struts and shocks replaced. It still makes a lot of noises and now I distrust the people who did the job to give me a competent answer as to what is going wrong.. In the AM it also makes a squeaking noise mostly on the front right...maybe a bushing rubbing against something...not sure but that noise goes away after driving for a while. Short bumps in the road seem to elicit more sound that others but the car just seems to have very stiff suspension. This was also true before the strut/shock replacement. Sometimes it sounds like two washers without rubber bushings are rattling together.
View 19 RepliesYesterday I noticed that there was a high pitched squeaking noise coming from the front of the car as I was driving. It was loud enough to hear over the radio, which I muted to confirm where it was coming from. It sounded as if it whatever was making it was rotating, if that makes sense. It was the most noticeable from speeds 5 mph to 30 mph, but I couldn't tell if it was the wheels or engine compartment. I have 4300 miles on it.

See the attached videos. The first one (night time) was made before I took the car to the dealer the first time. Dealer said that I was going too fast over the speed bumps, so I made another video (daytime) showing the speed (10-13 mph). Both times you can hear a squeaking noise coming from the front that I just started hearing last week. The car has only 23,000 miles on it. I bought it brand new back in September of 2010. I don't know what to do because the dealer (of course) says that they checked everything and there is nothing wrong with the car.
What was the cause of it. I can take it to a mechanic and check it myself and then bring it to VW for repairs and telling them exactly what's wrong and why.

When i drive the truck straight, turn left, turn right and even backup i get a Squeaking noise coming from the front and it is loud.
When the truck is in park and i turn the wheel back and fourth it still Squeaks even inches at a time turning it i can hear the Squeaking noise.
I can have the truck shut off and i put my weight on the front bumper making it bounce up and down i can still hear the same Squeaking noise
But when i jacked up the front end and turned the wheel back and fourth the nose is gone and seems to be great.
Sounds like the Squeaking noise is coming from the driver side. What this can be?
So originally I was told it was my front brakes going bad, which was the case. To address the issue, I replaced the rotors and pads awhile back and the noise disappeared for a bit. Fast forward a month or so ago and I hear an on-and-off squeaking noise when the brakes are applied. It does not happen every time. Usually when I ease onto the brakes to a slow stop.
Figuring it could be my pads going bad for whatever reason, I decided to check my brake pads and rotors again. No odd signs of damage on the rotors and by the looks of it there was still plenty of pad left. I then sprayed some brake clean assuming it could be dust but there wasn't much.
I have not touched the drums yet but I'm thinking it could possibly be the drums or a bad bearing? The car is a 2012 with 38k miles which is the reason I'm doubtful of it being a bad wheel bearing. What could it be?
2 days ago I changed my driver side wheel bearing and put in a new cv shaft
The axle nut may have been somewhat over torqued but nothing crazy over the spec.
Everything else is as per spec.
My problem is that every time I turn left slow fast sharp not sharp it's making this good awful noise.
It is not a constant squealing. It's every rotation. On off on off on off. No bearing humming or anything when driving straight or turning right. Just left. I'm pretty good at solving pretty well anything with my gti but this one has me stumped

View 1 RepliesI recently bought a 2014 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T about a 3 months ago, and have since noticed a couple issues that have come up with it. First was with a squeaking front suspension, but that was fixed by simply lubricating the sway bar bushings.
The second is that the steering wheel seems louder than normal when turning left/right at low speeds, mainly when parking, it sounds like two pieces of paper rubbing against each other right behind the steering wheel like a dry noise.
I test drove another Santa Fe before getting mine for about a week and didn't notice this issue. Is this a normal sound that eventually develops after having the Santa Fe for a while? I'm like at 3,600 miles.
So I started hearing these random squeaking noises coming from the front suspension its what it sounds like. This only happens thou when i drive up into a drive way that is slanted. Or any kind of slow making slanted turns (~5-10mph)
I'm not 100% positive but it sounds like the suspension because it only makes noise when the car moves a little when ever i go up a drive way.
