I get my iPhone 5 paired with my car for calls and music but not for messages. Is there a trick to doing that?

View 1 RepliesI'm having troubling pairing a phone to the Bluetooth system. I worked fine with my plain-jane Sprint cell phone as well as my kid's iPod. However, when I pair my wife's phone the car's phone system does not see the device after a few seconds.

View 13 Replies2013 Prius. Audio worked fine yesterday but on my way to work this morning the car would not play audio from my iPhone 6s. The Bluetooth is connected fine and calling still works but when I play music the screen shows that the music is playing but I get no sound from my speakers. I've tried resetting my phone and turned the car off and on to no avail.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to figure out if I'm dealing with an isolated situation...my iPhone 4's BT music streaming tends to have a slow-down effect whenever I start using the phone. It doesn't have to be a million apps running in the background for it to slow down (as if someone just turned off the turntable while the LP was playing), it could be caused by a simple accessing of the phone main screen... My prior car (Acura TL-Type S '07) worked flawlessly with my iPhone 3GS, so not sure if it's the iPhone 4 or my Prius V...
View 1 RepliesJust got a Verizon iPhone4 (finally) and am having bluetooth pairing issues with my '06 Prius (non-Nav). The behavior is not quite what I've seen described on other threads, so I don't know what try here. Note that my old junkie dumbphone worked reliably with the Prius over Bluetooth.
View 8 RepliesI have a Prius two 2012, have been using an old iPod for music over USB, and a blackberry over bluetooth handsfree profile. blackberry phones allow you to manage which BT profiles are connected, I disabled the music over BT profile. but now I just got an iPhone 5s to replace both phone and ipod, it automatically pairs with all profiles supported by the car, no disable or selection per profile. I want to play music over USB, not BT, the quality is better.
But the iPhone doesn't support both, if BT music is enabled, then that is where it goes. i have not found a way to disable the BT music. I confirmed with Apple tech support, they say the car side decides what services to pair with the phone, the iPhone just slavishly does what it is told with no user control options. Looking then at option control on the radio side, i have looked at the radio BT setups, there is no option i can find to select which profiles to automatically connect. How to configure the BT settings so the iPhone is registered only for handsfree and not BT music? Pls note that have only the basic display audio...
Bluetooth connection with iPhone 4 iOS7 failed?
View 3 RepliesBrowse button is greyed out when an iPhone 4S (iOS 5) is connected using Bluetooth. Browse button is not greyed out when connected with iPod cable.
View 19 RepliesI switched from an Android phone to a iPhone 4 and after the switch I noticed that sometimes the bluetooth A2DP audio goes out in the middle of playing. The bluetooth does not drop connection or lose pairing, but there just no sound.
I can tap the "play" icon on the Nav touch screen and the sound comes back for a minute or so and goes out again repeatedly. If I don't do anything and just wait, after a minute or two the sound spontaneously returns and usually keeps going.
At first I though it was a problem with the podcast app I was using, but then I noticed the exact same behavior with playing music with the built-in native iPod app.

View 4 RepliesBoth my wifes and my iPhones have had our favorite Phone numbers deleted after pairing with our brand new Prius V. We've only had it two days and Im starting to NOT like the Toyota technology at all.
View 2 RepliesI just got the Droid X and it paired easily with my 2010 prius and I can play my music folders over the blue tooth connection in the audio/nav. system. But, it will not transfer my phone contacts.
It will go through the motions like its going to happen and then I see the words attempt failed.
I added my iPhone 5 to my Prius 2011. It works fine with the BT Phone, but fails on the Audio. Even I select the iPhone 5 as portable device, it still fails to connect.
View 1 RepliesI have a nexus 6 with the 7" Entune with Nav but non jbl unit. Everything works fine except everything comes up unknown for receiving text messages. I played around with the settings a quite a bit. Rebooted the head unit countless times using the hold down the power button for 5 seconds trick. Totally uninstalled Entunes and reinstalled and reconnected it to the phone again and did all the updates with no luck. It does read the messages and the phone displays the contacts from the phone fine but the contacts on the SMS aren't syncing together. Since they are unknown, I am unable to do any of the quick messages thru the entune system.
View 4 RepliesI can receive messages and the HDD unit reads back the messages from my iPHONE. But when I hit reply and pick a preformatted text like " I am driving. Will call later" and hit SEND, it gives me an error. I have not so far been able to reply to any incoming messages.
View 1 RepliesI found a way to retrieve messages from my home answering machine on a Prius equipped with the bluetooth built into the radio. I use one speed dial to call home and a second one programed with the answering machine code for new messages. Press off hook and speed dial for calling home. When answering machine picks up, press off hook again and select speed dial button with the answering machine code, then press off hook again. Code will be sent and you will hear your messages without being disconnected.
View 1 RepliesWhen I connect a phone to my wife's Prius it pairs easily enough. The problem is, each time i start the car, it finds the phone and decides to tell the phone to start streaming music.
View 5 RepliesI noticed that when I active BT on my phone it connects to my cars phone BT automatically. But has a harder time when I try to connect to the portable audio player to stream music. I have to turn off the BT on my phone and turn it back on and then hit the "connect" button for the audio player and it works. Then I have to go back to the phone screen and hit connect again.
View 6 RepliesWhen I am listening to songs from iPhone there are buttons on my head unit (C2 radio NOT nav system) for play/pause, fwd, rewind BUT the rewind and fwd buttons only forward through the song it's playing (like you used to be able to do with cassette tapes) and it does NOT skip to the next song. How stupid is that? I have never seen a digital audio player that did this, the fwd/rewind always skip back a song or fwd a song BUT the prius head unit only skips through the song itself.
View 6 RepliesI have a new 2014 Prius Three. I am able to play music from my new ipad mini through my head unit via bluetooth. When I try to play video however, there is a 1-2 second audio lag behind the video.
