I added my iPhone 5 to my Prius 2011. It works fine with the BT Phone, but fails on the Audio. Even I select the iPhone 5 as portable device, it still fails to connect.

The Bluetooth is connected fine and calling still works but when I play music the screen shows that the music is playing but I get no sound from my speakers. I've tried resetting my phone and turned the car off and on to no avail.

So I recently purchased a base 2008 Prius. The previous owner said she replaced the stereo so she can use her ipod. I see there is a Aux jack underneath the Radio with a power button. But when I press mode on steering wheel or press CD/Aux on the unit, it only goes to the CD, not Aux. I think its Toyota 51824 system. How can I use Aux since I want to use my iphone for music.

View 19 RepliesI bought a fully loaded 2004 Prius last summer with Navigation and bells and whistles. (I love it - even with 110,000 miles!) At the time I had a 3G Iphone (AT&T) and the bluetooth worked for phoning and the cord that came out of the compartment under the stereo worked for me to plug in my phone and play music. Of course there was no music display and I had to get the music going first and I couldn't view it at all while it was plugged in. (Meaning if I wanted to see the song or change to a new playlist I had to unplug it.) But nonetheless I was STOKED to have my iphone music playing. It also charged my phone.
A few months I upgraded to an Iphone 4S, and now when I plug my phone in I can't play ANY music!! (Bluetooth for phone works fine.)
Questions:
1. So I always assumed the cord came with the Prius although I guess the first owner could have put it in? Do that model came with one?
2. Most importantly: How can I play music from my 4S phone the simplest easiest way.....
Any way to transfer contacts from my iPhone into the Prius? I looked briefly and it did not seem so.

It doesn't have to be a million apps running in the background for it to slow down (as if someone just turned off the turntable while the LP was playing), it could be caused by a simple accessing of the phone main screen... My prior car (Acura TL-Type S '07) worked flawlessly with my iPhone 3GS, so not sure if it's the iPhone 4 or my Prius V...

The behavior is not quite what I've seen described on other threads, so I don't know what try here. Note that my old junkie dumbphone worked reliably with the Prius over Bluetooth.
View 8 RepliesSongs listed in the "browse" are not correct(looks like an OLD SYNC) and can't get it to update to the new songs that are listed on my phone. Tried to delete the phone on BT devices listed and re-start the phone, didn't work. When clicking through on the steering wheel dials, the correct songs play though. Also, if you try to search for songs and go "backward" from Z-A, the songs listed are completely incorrect for the alphabet.
View 2 RepliesI have a Prius two 2012, have been using an old iPod for music over USB, and a blackberry over bluetooth handsfree profile. blackberry phones allow you to manage which BT profiles are connected, I disabled the music over BT profile. but now I just got an iPhone 5s to replace both phone and ipod, it automatically pairs with all profiles supported by the car, no disable or selection per profile. I want to play music over USB, not BT, the quality is better.
But the iPhone doesn't support both, if BT music is enabled, then that is where it goes. i have not found a way to disable the BT music. I confirmed with Apple tech support, they say the car side decides what services to pair with the phone, the iPhone just slavishly does what it is told with no user control options. Looking then at option control on the radio side, i have looked at the radio BT setups, there is no option i can find to select which profiles to automatically connect. How to configure the BT settings so the iPhone is registered only for handsfree and not BT music? Pls note that have only the basic display audio...

Autoplay on iphone music when I was listening to youtube on my iphone, when the song on youtube was ending and heading to the next song on the playlist (on the youtube app); It would just autoplay the songs written on my iphone memory.
I've got a 2011 III with the solar sunroof/JBL package and there are a couple of things I wonder about:
The nav display shows the remaining time and distance to my destination. I've used Garmin units in the past that tell me what my estimated arrival time is. Can I change to show this instead?
I'm running iOS 5 on an iPhone. I can stream music nicely thru it, though I have to set up the proper app on the phone before doing so. It even lets me skip a selection playing on Pandora using the steering wheel up arrow button. My question is if I'm playing from the Music app, can I change playlists or albums using the steering wheel controls?
I just picked up my 12 Prius (three with solar sunroof) from the dealer on Monday. I upgrade from an '09 III. I imported my contacts from my Iphone and synced it to bluetooth and all my contacts are showing up double. Every time I go to call someone, it asks me to pick line 1 or 2, which are the same number.
