The car beeped at me when I tried to lock it. Initially, I thought I forgot to turn it off. But no, it said "keys detected inside". Not so, as the key was in my pocket outside when I tried to lock it and the other key was 10 miles away at home.
View 2 RepliesI had a Samsung Galaxy s4 that gave me the message tethering detected and then the only way to get my phone to connect via bluetooth again was to delete the phone from the car and reestablish the connection which only worked until the signal popped up again. I called US Cellular and they thought it was the phone so I chose to get a refurbished s4 over having work done on my phone. I had that phone hooked up and working well for about 1 month and now the second phone is doing it.
The message last popped up while I was in my office across the street from the Prius. I'm guessing it's either a s4 issue or a US Cellular issue being it happens in and out of the car, but US Cellular is convinced it's my car. I'm thinking about switching to an iPhone because this is only one of the many things I hate about Samsung galaxies.
While driving the key not detected message appeared three different times during a 50 mile trip. The message lasted approx. 30 seconds.

View 1 RepliesWhen I plug my iPhone into the USB port sometimes a message pops up that says "The accessory uses too much power and will be turned off" Then a few seconds later my phone will stop charging, but then within a matter of seconds it will charge again and go on and off like this each time giving me the error message.

CD stuck inside the cd player and making noises, there is an error message when i select CD on the screen and sometimes it goes off (the CD icon on the screen).
View 1 RepliesTwice so far, when my iPhone is paired with my V, base model 5, I get a notice that there is a software update, but it's always popped up at inopportune times. Now that I'm at home, I can't get the message to pop up.
Can I manually download whatever it is that needs to be updated rather than waiting for the message again?
I figured out how to get the text message function to work on my head unit. It was a setting on my iPhone, under Bluetooth it was the "show notifications". Then all of a sudden bam any texts I get while in the car pop up and the HU will read them aloud, also there are a bunch of quick responses.

I noticed when I have my iphone 4s plugged in to the USB and my BT is on I don't get the notification noise that i always do when I get a text message. When I get a phone call it rings on the car speakers since I have it connected to my BT but not the text message. I commute to work over an hour each way and i hate to keep checking my phone to see if I got a text since it's not going off when I get a message.

I paired my Galaxy S3 phone with the PIP and when my phone receives a text message, I get the prompt on the Prius' screen to read the text message to me. I then paired my wife's iPhone4 to the car, but when she gets a text, there's no prompt on the Prius' screen to read the text. Where should I start troubleshooting this?

After 15 min it start detecting and car got started. Key battery is new but i just recently added another smart key with prius smart key. I am wondering its happening because interference of another key?

View 8 RepliesI went to the dealership today with my '05 displaying a master light ( big red triangle) and "problem " posted on the screen with the green "hybrid system problem" box displaying.
The Prius guy had the car plugged into the computer for over 3 hours. It spat out a page and a half of codes, and then after a time distilled the codes to 4 things: a bad hybrid fan motor, the relay, a blower motor controller, and a bad aux battery. The problem is I replaced the aux battery a year ago. So it makes me doubt the entire diagnosis.
Is there a remote way to unlock my car that has keyless entry? The key is locked inside.
View 11 RepliesI got this message today, twice as I was pulling out of the driveway but it went away both times. After the 1st I stopped and pulled the key out of my purse. It came back on a 3rd time and right as I was trying to determine if it was significant enough to pullover when the hood flew up and hit the windshield. The hood was closed and there were no other messages.
View 6 RepliesI don't understand what this message means. I drove my 2005 Prius to the Emissions Testing station (CO) and they said the OBD wasn't "READY".
The CEL goes on and off 4 times a year. It stays on for months, then goes off. The dealership said to ignore it as they couldn't locate the issue.
I've had this happen twice now. I got my gen3 in October 09' and lately the car has said the key wasn't present though it was sitting on the passenger seat. I had to put the fob up to the start button just to get my car started.
View 9 RepliesAfter last maintenance at dealer where I got my Prius. I get two or three times of "Key not Detected" message per week when I try to start the car. I have to push start button several times for the car to detect key and start up properly. However, I don't have issue to unlock door by placing hand on the sensor and enter driver's seat. Where to start? I thought it was battery issue, but that wouldn't explain why I don't have any issue unlocking the driver door by placing hand on the sensor, which I always do before I push the start button.
