Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: How To Change Volume On Navigation Voice

When I have the navigation routing somewhere, I can't figure out how to adjust the volume of the voice. How can I do this?

View 9 RepliesEven though I have my 2013 Prius for 2 months, I just started trying the voice command system. I find that the volume of the voice prompts are very very low, and can't figure out how to raise that volume. The volume controls on the steering wheel have no effect, the radio volume control knob doesn't do anything, and there's no icon on the audio/navigator screen to make the voice prompts any louder (that I can see or find). It's probably something real easy and I'm just missing it, right?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 Prius with DVD Navigation, and now a 2012 Prius V. I cannot believe there is no "Go Home" command for voice navigation on the new system. This makes no sense whatsoever.
Does this system can be updated either on the fly or at the dealer in the future? The voice recognition is not nearly as good as on the 2011 system.
When in the navigation system it shows kilometers and meters. How to change it to miles.
View 1 RepliesMy prius 2008 I have been using for past 8 months or so was running fine with no issues until recently its audio system started malfunctioning. The power/disc/am/scan or volume tab won't function but it can be operated through the button on steering wheel .
After restarting car two times it started working.
I have no voice guidance on my nav. I am able to see where i'm going and if i'm looking at the map I can see when I have to turn but I have no voice guidance.
View 15 RepliesI recently bought a Prius 3 and am very happy with its mechanical performance and fuel efficiency, but the driver interface sucks for the electronics. I'm used to my 2008 Mercedes S550, which may be an unfair comparison, but I really hate having to take my eyes off the road and reach across the dash to use a touch screen. I do like filling the tank for $25 rather than $70, though
I have tried a few voice commands with mixed results. Sometimes I get the requested result, sometimes I get a random (or no) response, and sometimes I strangely get a message to the effect that this function is not available while driving, even though I can get it via touch-screen while driving.
I found on the Mercedes there are a few commands I use often, and a huge number that I have no interest in. They are easy to find from either a tree structure in the manual or an alphabetized list grouped by the subsystem.
From searching the manual and the various Prius forums it appears that there is no readily-available comprehensive list of commands. The manual seems to give only examples and implies that you can step through the on-screen menu trees by voice, giving occasional examples. But I've had very little success with that. I also don't like having to take my eyes off the road to read the list at each level or having the car speak the list, which is way too slow. Both take too much concentration away from driving. With the Mercedes I can usually activate a command directly even if it is several levels down in a tree (e.g. "navigate to <a stored destination>") while an audio screen is displayed.
I have found a few lists online, but they don't agree with each other and seem to be from 5-10-year-old models. In general, they seem to list far more commands than I see on my screens.
I have a 2012 Prius III and from the time I bought the car I have been having ongoing multimedia system and voice activation problems. I have taken it into the dealer numerous times, and they often say they were unable to duplicate the problems (so I started recording the issues with my iphone!). The third time I took it in with the videos in hand, they agreed to replace the multimedia unit...unfortunately, the problems persisted. They are outlined below.
1. Voice Recognition button doesn't work about 50% of the time. When pressed, it displays "Voice Recognition Not Available"
2. When plugging in my iPod, the multimedia system will often reboot
3. The touch screen buttons sometimes do not work (may 25% of the time, and only some buttons, not all of them, and they are different every time)
4. When my iPod is plugged in and I navigate to the playlist, the wrong songs will be in the playlist.
5. When plugging in my ipod, the screen will just load and load and load....forever...until I unplug it and plug it back in from the center console plug (not from the iphone side).
Turning my car off, then back on often resolves the problems.
I just purchased a new samsung android phone and i have only had my prius for few weeks. The phone wont automaticley link up evreytime and a most of the time (80%)people that call me or that i call cant hear me I hear them fine or when they can hear me the quality is poor I had the sprint guy look at it and he couldnt figure it out what should I do?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2013 model 4 with the solar sunroof pkg, which included the upgraded audio, center console display. Just recently the Voice CALL command stopped working. My phone was recently re-paired with the car's Bluetooth and does work. After pressing the voice button on the steering wheel, I am prompted for a command. I say CALL "<first name> <last name>" and the response is "Pardon". On the voice command screen on the center console display, only the CALL command is greyed out. The DIAL command as well as the other common commands are highlighted.
View 3 RepliesIs it normal for a clicking and ticking noise to constantly originate from the JBL audio navigation system? I've noticed this noise while the vehicle is in electric mode at a full stop. The noise is also present while driving.
I checked the 4 disc cd changer and they are empty. I usually use the blue tooth system to play the music.
2011 Prius III with JBL navigation system 9,000 miles on the odometer.
I have a 2010 Prius five and I blew the warranty in the first year and a half. At 134k miles the navigation is getting a bit crazy. So while I'm driving (not using the nav) a side bar screen will pop up with a few boxes that say calculating and it will freeze my whole system for about 2 or 3 minutes even though I can still see my location tracking behind the pop up screen. If I'm streaming music that will continue but I can't change songs or volume or anything. It also lags when I get an incoming call so I can hit the transfer button but it will take about 30 seconds.
I tried to see if my car needed an update from the 08.1 version but can't seem to find any info on it. No actual answer.
So here's the issue. I use voice recognition to tune my radio, but it doesn't tune.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2012 Camry LE and I always use bluetooth connectivity between my iPhone 6S and the car. I use an online radio app called "Tambura" (similar to pandora but something which caters to Indian Hindi songs). Now I also use my phone as a GPS navigation device on need basis. The problem I am facing is that, whenever I am listening to music using the radio app in my camry's speakers with volume on around 15-20, whenever the Google maps voice says something like "take next exit" or whatever, it is almost inaudible. I expect the sound to be on same level as my music but that does not happen.

View 10 RepliesI am enjoying the Entune System on my Prius C but I got a question? When using voice commands for playing a song on the USB drive it will list that as song 1/1 which is what it should do, If I choose a artist and album it will list all songs from that album. but how do I return to the playing the USB drive to play all songs from all artists?
I tried
Play...All Songs
Play...Artists Random
Play...Random
nothing, and the manual was not useful...
It has been more than 2 years and I am still very frustrated with the voice recognition. The problem is that the when I want to use the voice dialing, 90% of the time, the system interprets the number 4 as 0. But it will only mix up when the 4 appears in the area code. For example, when I say 416-123-4567, it will respond as 016-123-4567. Other numbers are responding correctly. In general, it is very unreliable in responding correctly to my number 4. My English is very fluent but with a very slight Chinese accent. The worst part is when I took the car and tried to show the problem to the service supervisor (with him in the car), the system will respond to my number 4 or 9 correctly.
Recently, I have bought my complaint to the dealer again. This time, the service supervisor who is also Chinese, told me that many Chinese customers have complained about the same problem. However, there is no software update on the system to address this problem.
The MFD works and I can change modes and stations, but no volume with the audio. Nothing for bluetooth handsfree, am/fm/aux/cd, etc.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2010 package IV not 4 because it is a 2010 and only 2010 used uppercase roman numerals for model designation, with jbl non nav stereo. I have been having issues with the volume control not working so was looking into upgrading it to a a jbl with nav since I can get a good deal on the stereo and nav antenna. My question is will the existing wire harness support this and will a unit from a 2012-2013 fit a 2010?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2011 prius with just a regular stereo and no amplifier. the sound in the speakers go off when putting the volume up, however if I umplug the front speaker connector to the stereo the sound will work fine on the back speaker but once I plug that connector back the sound goes off. the sound to the speakers work fine with the Bluetooth.
