I use my touch screen a lot on my prius. When I do use my steering wheel controls for the radio it won't change from station settings 1-2-3. But it will change stations on station settings 1-2-3. Is it possible to use the steering wheel controls to go through all of the radio stations? This might allow me to stop using my touch screen controls so much.

View 8 RepliesI Just bought my 2010 Prius and have noticed an irritating background radio static while listening to fairly weak AM radio stations. This occurs when accelerating or slightly accelerating, but almost disappears upon letting up on the throttle. Toyota has no bulletins, or answer on RF noise suppression on Gen. III models. One note, I went to my Toyota dealership & the service manager suggested I drive a new Prius to see if the noise is in a different car. He went with me, and bingo, it was noticeable in the new car. He said there was no information on it, but would check with Toyota and get back.
View 2 RepliesOwner of a brand new '13 Prius C Two. No "Entune" system, just the basic radio. I connect my iPhone 5 via Bluetooth; it works wonderfully. I can still use the handset controls to make phone calls; I have speed dials set up, and using my iPhone 5 as a phone in the car works great.
What stopped working this morning: skipping tracks using either the "Seek" button on the Prius radio itself as well as the controls on the steering wheel. Volume controls on the radio itself AND on the steering wheel work just fine for adjusting the volume.
The "Pause/Play" button on the Prius radio does work, but only after about :04 seconds or so. A song or podcast will play; the steering wheel controls for skipping tracks does not work; same with the Seek button on the radio itself; and pressing the pause/play button works, but not immediately after depressing it. Takes a few seconds.The only way to skip ahead/backward is on the iPhone itself.
For the almost 2 months I've owned the Prius C, this is the first time this has happened. Connecting audio via Bluetooth has "just worked" every single day. What's perplexing about this is that I've changed nothing on the iPhone overnight. The Seek button on the Prius radio worked fine yesterday, as did the steering wheel controls not even 24 hours ago.
The Seek button on the radio itself does work with the radio and a CD. Same with the steering wheel controls; as long as I'm not trying to control the iPhone, it works fine.
I replaced my Entune unit on my 2013 Persona with a Pioneer Avic Z150BH, best decision I ever made. I expected to lose steering wheel controls for the radio and hands free, but I did not expect to lose the steering wheel controls for my climate control and multi function display. I can no longer use the Disp, Trip, and climate control buttons now.
View 7 RepliesI've had this 2013 Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) for about 6 months. During that time on at least three or four occasions I've lost all my radio presets. They just disappear and are replaced with stations I don't use. It seems to happen in between car usages, not while driving, but I am not sure about that. I am not noticing any other problems. It's a HD radio. I did not continue Sirius after the introduction period.
View 13 RepliesI thought I'd finally move into the 21st century and jump on the mp3/bluetooth streaming wagon. Was always the traditional CD-album guy and after this, I may need to go back.
Problem is, I can't change track with the radio or steering wheel controls. Also, unlike the phone which automatically is available for use after the auto-connection happens via the car's controls, I have to manually launch the player on my phone then push play on it. Once done, music plays from the BT Audio system and when that track is complete, moves on automatically to the next one. The control of pausing, playing, skipping tracks does not work via the car (steering and audio controller) and is ONLY possible from the phone which defeats the purpose of a hands-free driving experience.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Android v4.3 and I've tried both Google Play Music and the native "Music" player on the device, with no luck. I have the standard Display Audio Controller (no-NAV).
I just got my Prius Four, not IV, 2013 and the satellite radio stations are already preset. How do I delete theirs, then save my own?

However, even after removing the center nut I still cannot get the steering wheel out. I have tired pulling it hard and tapping it lightly but no success.
How to get the steering wheel to come out at this point?
I use my iphone via bluetooth to play my music and podcasts. If it's wireless I have no control over the folders through the audio controls. I have to manually go through the folders on my phone to cue up what I want to play. Which seems counter productive. I can skip forward to the next song and pause/play but that's it. If I have it plugged into the USB I can control the folders when I am in ipod mode. But it wont let me play it. I then have to switch to BTA to play it. Then back to ipod if I want a different folder or playlist.
View 8 RepliesJust got a 2012 c3, and I'm trying to get my iPod Nano (4th gen) to show up on the display as an iPod, controllable from the steering wheel and display. The manual says this iPod model is compatible. The iPod software is up to date.
If I plug my iPod into the AUX with a standard audio cable, it plays over the speakers fine but the display shows only "aux" and has no controls for it. If I plug it into the USB with an Apple cable, it doesn't plays over the speakers at all, and the USB doesn't show up as active on the display -- it's grayed out. I tested the cable elsewhere and confirmed it's fine.
MP3 Audio controls (folder list/file list) on the touch screen gets disabled when driving at higher than 5 miles per hour. When asked at dealer they said it is kept for safety :mod: and can't change the the way it behaves.
While going for long drive it doesn't feel good. Only the driver is driving, what about the passenger sitting all the way? At least passenger should have the control. How to activate the MP3 controls while driving. Click to expand...
The right side of my (2011 level II) steering wheel has five buttons: Trip, Dist, air recirc, temp +/-. All but Trip and Dist are duplicates of nice big buttons on the climate console, so are rather redundant.
View 7 RepliesThe Vent/defrost/front/rear buttons on the steering wheel quit working so I replaced them, still not working, so I replaced the Clock spring, still not working. The controls on the touch screen works fine its just the steering wheel buttons that don't work.
View 3 RepliesMy 05 has a problem with the recirculate and defrost buttons on the wheel. The recirculate button will sometimes toggle the MFD between the consumption screen and the energy monitor screen like the info button does and won't change the recirculate light on the dash at all. Sometimes it will do nothing, and other times it works normal changing from outside air to recirculate. Also the defrost button will sometimes turn on the windshield defroster with 1 push then turn on the rear defroster with a second push and both will go off on the 3rd push.
Other times both defrost buttons will do nothing or work normally. When the wheel buttons are acting up the MFD will control both the recirculate and defrost functions normally so I don't think the MFD is the problem. The 12 volt battery has been checked and is good at 12.4 volts and there is no malfunction lights or codes set in the system. All the other buttons on the wheel function normally. What to check?
I have a question regarding the HUD display and the steering wheel audio controls. According to the manual there should be a audi menu in the HUD control by the steering wheel controls. I don't seem to see one? I have the upgraded audio with digital. I checked the TOC and can't seem to find anything about this. Am I missing something?

View 9 RepliesThe factory stereo in my Elantra 2015 sedan does not have bluetooth and the steering wheel does not have the audio controls on the left side. I want to replace the factory stereo with a bluetooth stereo and add audio controls to the steering wheel. If I get the same audio controls that are on Elantras with bluetooth will they work? Is the wiring or wiring harness present for the audio controls? Would the car computer have to be reprogrammed?
