I can hardly hear the bass on my new 2013 Prius 4, which replaced my lease of 2010 Prius 3 with Navi . both had their DSP setting at default balanced position. I thought it was because I got the base trim 4 with no addition, but my friend who just went from 2010 Prius 5 with Navi to 2013 Prius 5 with those whistle and bells felt the same on his new car.
View 8 RepliesDriving what was my wife's 2008 Prius, and for the most part the sound is adequate but I have a bass rattle in the doors and I'm wondering what's the best way to resolve it.
My source is my iPhone 6 via a Bluetooth add-on, and for the most part it is fine if i leave the iPhone volume level at Max minus 2-3 bars. But if the song is bass heavy and I have the JBL volume high, there is quite a bit of rattling vibration on the door (rattling panels, etc.), on all the doors.
Q: Is this something that can be resolved by adding a sub and rolling off the bass for the JBL speakers? Or does resolving it require more a sound deadening at the doors?
I just tried my iPod mini with the 3.5 mm audio cable and there is major hissing like you can't even hear the music. All the songs on my iPod are high audio quality. When I plug it in my Lexus via the same cable no issues. Can the dealer fix it?

I listen to a lot of am talk and it works fine. Problem is when I start my car it automatically switches over to FM.
I have a 2013 prius 4 and I would like to access music through USB. I have 2 folders on my USB. However when I plug it in, it does not recognize the folders and I get a list of all songs from both the folders.
Is there a way for the system to read the folders and access songs from those folders only?
I recently bought a 2013 Prius C 3. The display audio system makes a lot of white noise when it's on - sounds like a cassette tape hiss. That's okay I guess - chalk it up to oem audio. Right?

View 1 RepliesI have been driving my Prius III (2013) for about 6 months. Until 1 week ago, the vehicle behaved as expected. Now, the Bluetooth turns off after about 1 minute of being on. It will not turn back on. I did clear the paired devices under the clear personal data menu option, then I got my phone to reconnect. Then, Bluetooth shut down. It seems as though many are having this issue. Is this an issue that would be covered for repair under the warranty. My car is still under the original factory warranty.

While I understand the benefits of the beeping, it is SO LOUD! Is there any way to lower the volume? I know I can take it to the dealer to get it switched to one beep, but all I really want to do is make it quieter, not go away. Alternatively, where the speaker the sound comes out of is? Maybe I can muffle it with tape or something.
View 4 RepliesI can't get the NAV unit to read a jpg off a USB stick for the startup image. It read the stick for the shutdown image but always says it can't find a correct file (or something to that effect) when I try to load startup images. I set the USB stick up with the folders at the root level as per the manual.
View 5 Replies I may have a problem with the lights behind the buttons surrounding the Multi Function Display on my 2013 Prius (ex. "SEEK", "TRACK", "AUDIO", "SETUP", "CAR", etc.). The other night I parked the car and turned the headlights off for about 5 minutes (I generally leave the lights on at all times when the car is running - day and night). I turned the lights back on and when I did I noticed that the lights behind the buttons surrounding the MFD were no longer functioning (so you really can't see the buttons in the dark now). My wife tells me that they've always been like that, but that just doesn't make any sense to me (I'm almost positive they were working before I turned the lights on and off). About 2 and 1/2 months ago I installed an is imple gateway so I could hook up a SiriusXM xv200, but I wouldn't think I would get a problem like this from doing that 2.5 months after the fact. A couple of questions:
1. Should these buttons light up (or is my wife correct that I'm crazy)?
2. Could the problem be the isimple gateway?
2013 Prius C with Entune. The USB connection allows me to charge my iPod (3rd generation) and iPhone 4S but I cannot play music via that connection. The system is designed to allow playback through the USB, right? I plugged in a flashdrive and was able to play music. I have tried three cables and none allow the feed from the device into the audio system. I am able to connect into the Aux port and play music.
View 1 RepliesOwner of a brand new '13 Prius C Two. No "Entune" system, just the basic radio. I connect my iPhone 5 via Bluetooth; it works wonderfully. I can still use the handset controls to make phone calls; I have speed dials set up, and using my iPhone 5 as a phone in the car works great.
What stopped working this morning: skipping tracks using either the "Seek" button on the Prius radio itself as well as the controls on the steering wheel. Volume controls on the radio itself AND on the steering wheel work just fine for adjusting the volume.
The "Pause/Play" button on the Prius radio does work, but only after about :04 seconds or so. A song or podcast will play; the steering wheel controls for skipping tracks does not work; same with the Seek button on the radio itself; and pressing the pause/play button works, but not immediately after depressing it. Takes a few seconds.The only way to skip ahead/backward is on the iPhone itself.
For the almost 2 months I've owned the Prius C, this is the first time this has happened. Connecting audio via Bluetooth has "just worked" every single day. What's perplexing about this is that I've changed nothing on the iPhone overnight. The Seek button on the Prius radio worked fine yesterday, as did the steering wheel controls not even 24 hours ago.
The Seek button on the radio itself does work with the radio and a CD. Same with the steering wheel controls; as long as I'm not trying to control the iPhone, it works fine.
This happened several times on my way home today.
Car: 2013 Prius v Three
Symptom: Bluetooth connects and works but then stops after a couple minutes. The Bluetooth Settings screen indicates "Bluetooth Off" at this point but will not turn back on if I press the button that should toggle it. All other options on the settings screen are dimmed out.
Can Display Audio's phone interface accept pauses or waits (P or W) in the phone number? My phone uses them for voicemail passwords, eg dial the number, pause a few seconds, and then dial the password. So far it does not work at all through the bluetooth interface when initiated through voice command ("call xxx xxx xxxx pp yyyy#") or through the car's screen. I tried to directly store a similar number into the Display Audio "stored" numbers but could not find an option for the P pause.
View 6 RepliesI Learned on a Toyota Avalon web page that you can force your audio system to reboot itself by pressing the power button for three seconds. On the Avalon, it only works on the "Limited" levels. I tried it tonight on my Prius Four and it worked. Great to use when your audio gets "confused" and you just want to clear it and start over.

But there is one odd thing: Whenever I stop the car, or it seems even pause the playback, it seems to restart so as to replay a few minutes I listened to on the last session.

View 3 RepliesI presently use a 16GB USB drive that has about 240 MB of 2 to 10 MB mp3 files and it works well. The reason I ask is that SirisXM is going to drop my favorite channel (69) and I was thinking of making some large files of audio capture before it goes away. Large because its easier to make and play a few than many. There might be a file size limitation (not USB storage limitation) due to the amount of memory in the audio system.
View 8 RepliesSometimes in the bright sunlight, I cannot see the audio display or the small AC display that shows which vents the air is coming out from. Is there any way to illuminate these displays? Will some LEDs around them work or make it worse? I'm driving a C two. I have no intention of upgrading to an aftermarket sound system; I just want a simple inexpensive way to see the info on the screen.
