Why this would happen on a new 2012 Prius II?

View 19 RepliesAs others have mentioned, changes you make to the time don't stick. My clock is always off an hour. Someone suggested changing the time zone setting to compensate for this. I've tried multiple time zones and the clock is always off an hour (either fast or slow).
View 5 RepliesThe battery has not been disconnected. Any answers?
View 4 RepliesRecently purchased a certified 2010 Prius III. The clock was set in military time, I am able to change the time but not get it out of the military mode. I only have the quick start and nav manuals and they are not useful.
View 1 RepliesWhen sitting in my life C with the power on listening to music there is no clock available on the touch screen. Any mods for this?
Nexus 7 ?
Trying to connect a Garmin GPS with the car audio in Prius? It seems they could never connect. I have a Prius 2012 model.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius base model. The dash clock loses almost 3-4 minutes a day. Its still under warranty so I'll likely take it into the dealer and get it checked out..
The only thing "different" is I have a Garmin HD Bluetooth connector (which streams engine stats like the Scanguage does to my GPS unit) hooked up to the OBDII port..but that *should* not cause any issues I think.
My 2008 Prius has a dash that won't light up consistently. Also won't turn off until you hold the Start button for about 10 seconds. I found out my problems were a result of a bad 12v battery. So I changed it and the problem continues. Took the battery out and it tests fine. What else could be the problem and how can I fix it.
View 4 RepliesI've been using Google Maps on my iPhone 6 through my Prius C1's bluetooth for years, and it's 99% reliable. But only if I'm currently playing music from my phone (using the built-in Music app). If I pause the music, all the turn-by-turn directions invariably come through sounding like a shitty quality phone call. The "Talking..." prompt on the car's dash display also appears, so I'm guessing the car thinks I'm making a phone call, even though I'm not.
This wouldn't be that bad, except that every time a direction prompt sounds, the music pauses for a few seconds, playing through the shitty quality phone mode. This sounds awful, and is the main reason I want to find a solution to this problem. But it's not the only issue.
Strangely enough, if I start a navigation in Google Maps before I get into my car, the bluetooth will treat all the audio coming from my phone, including music, as a shitty quality phone call. The only way to fix it is to shut down the engine and reboot the entire car.
I've done a little bit of experimentation with Apple Maps, and it seems not to suffer from this problem. But I've been using Google Maps for ages, I'm using to the UI, and I trust it a lot more than Apple Maps. I'd much prefer to continue using Google if at all possible.
I confirmed that my trial subscription to XM satellite is active, but I get no reception. The antenna light on the dash keeps blinking. AM/FM reception is fine.
View 3 RepliesLooking for location of the XM tuner so I can switch out the poor factory antenna but I see no clear location specified for a 2012 Prius.
The closest location I saw was from a posting by GeoGeek that pretty much said there is no specific location for this tuner. He mentions several possible locations. Is that because they're usually dealer installed?
Before, I start tearing into my car, need to know How the rear seat comes out, lift from the front or back?
I had my headlights on last night and while I was driving through a few small tunnels my dashboard and Navigation lights went so dim....basically black.....I could barely see anything on them. What is this and how can I fix it?
View 11 Replies I got a 2012 Prius two weeks ago.
When the map was on the screen, I went down a new section of interstate where the GPS was telling me I was going over grass or turn here from the grass to a city road. How do you update the map or should I continue to use Google maps on my cell phone?
Can you transfer cell phone Google maps to the Prius?
what the lowest version of iOS that will work with the Audio System for a 2012 Prius? Couldn't find this info. in the manual.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius V and the rear speaker(s) hardly put out any sound. When I balance the system to get more output in the rear, I get hardly any sound in the frount. Is there an individual speaker adjustment? Is this normal or do I have defective speaker(s)?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius 4 and my USB-connected iPod skips. I've tried 2 different USB cables and 3 different iPods. I also tried the vehicle in different driving modes (ECO, Power, EV) and the iPod skips every time. However, the iPod works perfectly when using the aux jack.
I took the car to the dealer and they applied a software update but the skipping persists. The dealer tried the iPod in another 2012 Prius and it skipped. They admit there is a problem but the dealer says nothing can be done until Toyota technical support gets enough complaints that they come up with a fix.
I noticed on my new 2012 Prius II that I can't get at the keypad or contacts while driving. Is there anyway to over ride this as my wife makes calls as I drive and the contacts are not available. I have looked at options and have not found anything.
View 5 RepliesI have a Prius two 2012, have been using an old iPod for music over USB, and a blackberry over bluetooth handsfree profile. blackberry phones allow you to manage which BT profiles are connected, I disabled the music over BT profile. but now I just got an iPhone 5s to replace both phone and ipod, it automatically pairs with all profiles supported by the car, no disable or selection per profile. I want to play music over USB, not BT, the quality is better.
But the iPhone doesn't support both, if BT music is enabled, then that is where it goes. i have not found a way to disable the BT music. I confirmed with Apple tech support, they say the car side decides what services to pair with the phone, the iPhone just slavishly does what it is told with no user control options. Looking then at option control on the radio side, i have looked at the radio BT setups, there is no option i can find to select which profiles to automatically connect. How to configure the BT settings so the iPhone is registered only for handsfree and not BT music? Pls note that have only the basic display audio...
I have not been able to locate where this is on the 2012's. Not looking for how to access the menu where you hold down the Setup button & tun your lights on & off a few times.
I am looking for the menu that used to allow users to be able to Override the navigation. I have had a ton of other navigation, both factory & aftermarket, & don't like having to stop to enter a destination.
How to access this menu & whether or not it still allows for the Override option that it once did?
Getting used to my new-to-me 2012 Prius, and my nav does something weird and hoping the experts here can tell me if this is an antenna issue or a nav system issue. So I know where to focus.
Sometimes I'll be on the freeway and the nav suddenly thinks I've moved off the freeway to a parallel location just off the freeway and starts reroute me all over the place. Similarly I might be on the freeway and it suddenly tells me to get off the freeway when I'm miles from my destination and there's no reason to be getting off.
Thoughts on how I can fix this?
Just bought a 2012 Prius 3.
Ipod music cuts in and out intermittently. Sometimes it will go 30-45 minutes without cutting out, other times it will happen much more frequently. At first Toyota did not want to admit there was a problem and made me come in a number of times to look at it. I tried different cables and ipods.
