I have a new 2015 Prius 4 and have the 3-month trial of SiriusXM radio. I need to understand what functions would go away if I let the subscription expire. If I navigate to a destination, I get audible real-time traffic updates for the selected route. Is that from the satellite? If I am driving without a destination set, there are areas of congestion shown on the navigation screen. Satellite? Anything else?
View 7 RepliesI've got a 2010 Prius IV that I got back in July of 2010. My car's only option is the navigation system. I have not made any modifications to the car, with the exception of tinted windows.
View 2 RepliesTrying to connect a Garmin GPS with the car audio in Prius? It seems they could never connect. I have a Prius 2012 model.
View 1 RepliesI noticed that when I active BT on my phone it connects to my cars phone BT automatically. But has a harder time when I try to connect to the portable audio player to stream music. I have to turn off the BT on my phone and turn it back on and then hit the "connect" button for the audio player and it works. Then I have to go back to the phone screen and hit connect again.

View 3 RepliesI Just bought my 2010 Prius and have noticed an irritating background radio static while listening to fairly weak AM radio stations. This occurs when accelerating or slightly accelerating, but almost disappears upon letting up on the throttle. Toyota has no bulletins, or answer on RF noise suppression on Gen. III models. One note, I went to my Toyota dealership & the service manager suggested I drive a new Prius to see if the noise is in a different car. He went with me, and bingo, it was noticeable in the new car. He said there was no information on it, but would check with Toyota and get back.
View 2 RepliesI bought a fully loaded 2004 Prius last summer with Navigation and bells and whistles. (I love it - even with 110,000 miles!) At the time I had a 3G Iphone (AT&T) and the bluetooth worked for phoning and the cord that came out of the compartment under the stereo worked for me to plug in my phone and play music. Of course there was no music display and I had to get the music going first and I couldn't view it at all while it was plugged in. (Meaning if I wanted to see the song or change to a new playlist I had to unplug it.) But nonetheless I was STOKED to have my iphone music playing. It also charged my phone.
A few months I upgraded to an Iphone 4S, and now when I plug my phone in I can't play ANY music!! (Bluetooth for phone works fine.)
Questions:
1. So I always assumed the cord came with the Prius although I guess the first owner could have put it in? Do that model came with one?
2. Most importantly: How can I play music from my 4S phone the simplest easiest way.....
I was able to pair a Sky 4.0 (Android 4.2.2) phone to my 2014 Prius 3, but can not establish a connection.
View 2 RepliesThis is a video on how to connect smartphone to toyota prius head unit via bluetooth, it shows the steps in details on both the car and the phone for easy connection. I hope its useful.
View 9 RepliesI had to replace my 12 volt battery a few weeks ago. I'm also having issues with my samsung galaxy s4. For the last 2 to 3 weeks the phone in the car won't connect and the bluetooth is not working. Is it the car or is it the phone? If I uninstall the phone and reinstall it does connect but there's no guarantee that it will the next time.
View 5 RepliesI was driving to work yesterday and my stock radio completely shut off. It will not come back on. The local dealer was very supportive today, however. After a few hours of investigative work & a few calls to Toyota corp. They have determined that it was a bad component in the radio. They are rush ordering me a new one.
View 7 RepliesMy iPhone 5 links with my Prius via Bluetooth to make calls and to play music stored on the phone, but it fails every time I try the Connect To Internet option. I have entune on my iPhone. I've registered at the entune site.
View 12 RepliesSo all I wanted to do once I got my new Prius was set up the bluetooth. What a nightmare! Got the phone to recognize the car. Tried to upload the phone bock from my blackberry and all I got was a display saying "talking" . I waited and waited and gave up after 15 mins as I only have 50 names in the book. Now the radio isn't on when because this stupid "Talking" is on all the time. When I verbally dialed a number I tried with the 1 at the start, then without, but the area code and then no area code, and still no dial....
I have had the car 5 hours and if I could pick it up and throw it I would.
how do you connect from the amp to the deck? Im completely confused and lost. I have a 2013 prius 2 so no JBL.
View 1 RepliesWe have a 2010 IV and a 2012 pip. My Android phone will pair and connect with the 2010. It pairs with the 2012, but the 2012 will then say "Connect Failed" when my phone is selected. My wife has an iPhone which pairs and connects to both cars. My phone uses Bluetooth 4.0 profiles. And after pairing I've limited it to telephone audio only. I've deleted and repaired countless times with the same result.
View 2 RepliesIn June my Grandfather picked up a used 2010 Prius (not exactly sure what trim package it is? I think it's IV? It has heated front seats, voice activation, bluetooth, navigation, XM radio, NO sunroof though)
He honestly doesn't like the car that much, I don't think he knew about the "PWR" button that would make the gas pedal behave more like a standard throttle, but he is away on a trip right now so I am borrowing the car. I love it, and I'm going to show him the "PWR" mode when he gets back and see if that changes his opinion of the car.
ANYWAY I noticed when driving it that pressing the MAP button doesn't actually make the map display and instead changes the radio station? I did some searching and found that this may actually be a known flaw although from my searching it doesn't look like Toyota has addressed this?
I'm guessing the car is probably out of the original manufacturers warranty? Not sure if there might have been some sort of warranty from when he purchased the car pre-owned? I definitely plan to talk to him about this when he gets back because it is very annoying to not be able to switch back to the map easily. The only ways I have figured out to work around this is use the voice activation and say "show map" or to press the "DEST" button, choose a destination, and then delete that destination and then it shows the map.
The Prius V drops the bluetooth connection sporadically and after a bit reconnects; when I start up the car the connectivity is not always seamless-often saying no Bluetooth is set up but then after a few seconds connects; I can be on hands free and talking away only to find out I lost bluetooth and the call reverted to the phone, and finally I have tons of static.
The bottom line is I can no longer use the phone in the car for business.
I just started using Spotify, and would like to stream music from its app on my mobile phone (iPhone 6) in my 2011 Prius.
I plugged the phone into the USB jack in the center well, and found this seems to work fine. However, it would be a little easier if I could do the streaming via bluetooth with no wire connection.
When I start the car, in a few seconds I see a message that the car is connected to the iPhone as a hands-free phone. If I press the "Audio" button at the lower left of the dash screen, the "BT" tab is grayed out and I can't select it.
I listen to audio books through my phone/bluetooth connection. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. My phone is paired and bluetooth shows connected but it can't find the device...
