I bought a 05 prius, the model has the upgraded audio package and came with a cassette player. First time we used it it worked fine, the second time we tried to rewind another cassette and it got stuck. The audio screen says audio off, i'm unable to do anything with any of the buttons and the CD player and cassette stays powered even when the car is off.

View 1 RepliesI noticed that when I active BT on my phone it connects to my cars phone BT automatically. But has a harder time when I try to connect to the portable audio player to stream music. I have to turn off the BT on my phone and turn it back on and then hit the "connect" button for the audio player and it works. Then I have to go back to the phone screen and hit connect again.

View 2 RepliesSometime while playing music on a thumb drive, the song will stop playing, and even though I can browse to another song, it won't let me switch songs. The only thing that turn off the car, then turn it back on. This is not a good solution if one is driving on the highway. I've tried unplugging and re-plugging in the thumb drive, switching to radio and back to USB, but this does not work. I've tried turning the audio off, then back on, does not work. Is there a way to re-boot the audio unit without turning the car off and on?
View 11 RepliesMy used 2010 IV isn't accepting disks anymore. It happened suddenly where it wouldn't load consistently and then after ejecting all disks nothing loads anymore it keeps pushing against the disk when it's set to load. The car is under the 60-day warranty but I'm assuming it isn't covered under the warranty, but I'll ask tomorrow - I have 75k on it.
View 6 RepliesRecently bought this used 07 model in June of this year. Was enjoying the drive till the cd player ate the cd. Power and eject buttons no longer work, including Scan, Seek, Track buttons. Only the volume and tuner dial works, plus all steering mounted controls for audio. The only way to "turn off" the radio and cd is to toggle it to Aux. Is this deck pretty much shot?

View 7 RepliesMy wonderful three year old put a penny into the CD player. First it played, then it stopped and we got weird loud popping noises, even with the volume off. Now the radio/CD player is off and can't be turned on.
It seems like a good time to upgrade, but what should I be looking for as far as no power to the audio?

Whenever I am listening to an audio device, like a phone or MP3 player, via the AUX connection, and I plug the device into a 12v outlet to charge, I get a loud buzzing noise. It matches the ICE in frequency, for example when I accelerate the static noise "ticks" increase in frequency, like it's picking up the engine cylinders firing. When the ICE shuts off, the static persists but it's not as loud.
I've used many different devices and both the console and dash 12v outlets with the same result.
I've tried many different car chargers- high quality, low quality, and even an Energizer battery charger with a USB port, but the noise always comes through.
Is there a solution for this? Or perhaps is there some "power cleaner" accessory I can purchase that isolates this noise from the outlet?
I just noticed that my car's cassette player is not ejecting the cassette, not playing it ( means not lowering the cassette inside the deck to play it. Looks like some issue with stuck mechanism.
I want to remove the player open it and study waht's wrong, Is there a easy way to do so ? I can hear it clicking trying to activate the mechanism so it's getting power.
My car is 2005 camry XLE with JBL deck.
Brand new PIP base owner, got all the phone stuff working with ATT Samsung Galaxy S4 KitKat 4.4.2 except messaging. When I select that item on the touch screen it just churns "refreshing" and never advances.
View 1 RepliesThe CDs in our 2011 Model 5 (with ATP) are stuck and can't be ejected. According to the repair manual the Nav unit will need to be replaced. This raises two questions:
Can the CDs in there (a book on CD from the library - which are due tomorrow) be recovered by the dealer?
IF the Nav unit needs to be replaced, does the dealer have some mechanism to move the settings (address book, which has some 50+ destinations) + phone numbers associated with the Bluetooth phone).
This car is turning out to be a lemon. First the DRCC sees phantom vehicles and freezes (which Toyota will not do anything about), and now this!
Recently purchased a certified 2010 Prius III. The clock was set in military time, I am able to change the time but not get it out of the military mode. I only have the quick start and nav manuals and they are not useful.
View 1 RepliesI have a first-gen iPod Touch running iOS 3.1.3. When I got my Prius C 3 about 3 weeks ago, I was able to plug the iPod in to the USB and it worked great; album art, voice control, everything. A few days ago I finally decided to try out Entune by pairing with my Android phone. That worked fine, but ever since then I have been unable to use my iPod. When I connect the iPod it will sometimes start playing the last track that was active, but when I press Browse or try to change songs, I get a spinning disc image on the screen and it says "Loading" but never finishes. Also I noticed that when I connect the iPod it now says "Accessory Connected" on the iPod screen and asks me if I want to install an app, which it never did before.
If I had to take a guess, I'd say it looks like the audio system is trying to communicate with the Entune app on the iPod. However the Entune app isn't installed so it just hangs forever waiting for a response. And I can't install the Entune app because it requires a newer version of iOS than my device supports. Is there any way that I can get the audio system to go back to its previous behavior of treating my iPod Touch like just a regular iPod?
I have a 2010 Toyota Prius. The battery went dead, so I jumped it. The car started fine, but the Nav system is all black and says "Please insert Nav DVD". I do not have the original Nav DVD. How I can get around this? I've read some posts saying to disconnect the battery, but I'm not really sure how to do that. I feel like i've been through this before and the solution was simpler. In the past, I remember an option to 'skip nav dvd setup' or something like that. Unfortunately, I don't have that option.

View 4 RepliesI started my Prius and the Navigation Display open on it's own without me touching any buttons as though it wanted me to load a CD. Now it is stuck in the open position and the CD player is making noises like a CD is stuck but do not have a CD in the player.
I have hit every button to try to get it to close, no luck. It is stuck on the FM station I was listening to and will change stations or to AM, CD, SAT. I turned the car on and off several times just stuck open.
Just noticed while I was driving that the led lights in lower drivers door courtesy lamp was on. All other lights like dome are off.... I can open door and dome comes on and close and it goes out but my drivers door lamp just dims a little but stays on.
I tried to leave the car and lock....all lights shut off but the drivers lamp! Had to disconnect lamp for now to avoid drain. What could cause this?
Just a thought.....could the LED lamp go bad and cause this?
I have a 2012 Prius and when i press "Map" it won't open. It is stuck on loading page and spinning icon.
View 8 RepliesCan Display Audio's phone interface accept pauses or waits (P or W) in the phone number? My phone uses them for voicemail passwords, eg dial the number, pause a few seconds, and then dial the password. So far it does not work at all through the bluetooth interface when initiated through voice command ("call xxx xxx xxxx pp yyyy#") or through the car's screen. I tried to directly store a similar number into the Display Audio "stored" numbers but could not find an option for the P pause.
