The CD drive motor has started to run continuously. Nothing will make it stop, other than shutting down the whole car, and even then it runs for a while longer. Is there a fuze somewhere that I can pull? My guess is that the CD player (which still works) would have to be replaced and that doing that is several hundred dollars. Our Prius is 2006.
View 1 RepliesI presently use a 16GB USB drive that has about 240 MB of 2 to 10 MB mp3 files and it works well. The reason I ask is that SirisXM is going to drop my favorite channel (69) and I was thinking of making some large files of audio capture before it goes away. Large because its easier to make and play a few than many. There might be a file size limitation (not USB storage limitation) due to the amount of memory in the audio system.

View 10 RepliesI bought a 64GB usb 3.0 flash drive and I loaded about 1,500 songs onto it from iTunes. When I plug the flash drive into the car, it shows that I have 496 songs on the flash drive.
View 11 RepliesMy biggest convenience complaint is the awkwardness of navigating a large set of music folders on the USB thumb drive I use. The display screen scrolling capability is very slow, even if it were not disabled at any speed. When driving, I have to hold the up or down steering wheel buttons to move between folders one-by-one, which is very slow because I have about a hundred folders. At least it wraps, but if I am on, say, folder 20 and I want to get to folder 60, I have to hold and click the button 40 times.

View 10 RepliesI just noticed today that I can't switch to Aux in my 2006. I remember using it at some point last week and it has not given me any issues before.
When I tried to switch to aux this morning I hit the CD/Aux button and heard a CD start, so I hit it again. It did not switch from CD to Aux. So I tried hitting the mode button on the steering wheel. It cycled through every single option except for Aux. I tried to turn the car off and on again and my ability to switch to Aux didn't come back.
I have a 2006 Prius with about 53,000 miles on it. For some strange reason, about 2 times a week there will be no sound at all from the FM radio. The AM radio works, the CD player works, and the AUX in works fine, but complete silence from the FM stations (not even static or a hiss). If I turn the unit off and back on again over and over, the FM will eventually come on and work fine.
View 2 RepliesJust got a Verizon iPhone4 (finally) and am having bluetooth pairing issues with my '06 Prius (non-Nav). The behavior is not quite what I've seen described on other threads, so I don't know what try here. Note that my old junkie dumbphone worked reliably with the Prius over Bluetooth.

1) is there a way to stream music using this built in bluetooth?
2) The Prius was asking me to SEND my contacts phonebook over to it.... but I don't see an option on my android phone for this...
I always listen to my Ipod in the car, but about a month ago the AUX button doesn't do anything when I press it the button is like this [CD AUX] but when I press the AUX side aux mode doesn't come on, but the CD side works. I took those plastic wheel trims off , it looks way better. I was looking on here and found out how to get into system check mode on the display and it gave me these codes for the radio, can't figure out what they mean though.
View 13 RepliesI have a 06 JDM prius with hard drive-based audio and navigation system. Today the car was parked in a ready mode with the stereo playing and the audio cut off abruptly. I investigated and found that all of the audio and navigation controls on both the steering wheel and center console were unresponsive. It is impossible to switch between modes I.e. CD, HDD,radio and the CD drive no longer rejects. Bluetooth pairing works but no sound coming from the driver side speaker when in a phone call. When the car is started the MFD shows that it's playing audio from the hard drive as shown below but there's no sound and its impossible to change tracks.
View 2 RepliesCan Display Audio's phone interface accept pauses or waits (P or W) in the phone number? My phone uses them for voicemail passwords, eg dial the number, pause a few seconds, and then dial the password. So far it does not work at all through the bluetooth interface when initiated through voice command ("call xxx xxx xxxx pp yyyy#") or through the car's screen. I tried to directly store a similar number into the Display Audio "stored" numbers but could not find an option for the P pause.
View 6 RepliesI Learned on a Toyota Avalon web page that you can force your audio system to reboot itself by pressing the power button for three seconds. On the Avalon, it only works on the "Limited" levels. I tried it tonight on my Prius Four and it worked. Great to use when your audio gets "confused" and you just want to clear it and start over.

But there is one odd thing: Whenever I stop the car, or it seems even pause the playback, it seems to restart so as to replay a few minutes I listened to on the last session.

View 3 RepliesSometimes in the bright sunlight, I cannot see the audio display or the small AC display that shows which vents the air is coming out from. Is there any way to illuminate these displays? Will some LEDs around them work or make it worse? I'm driving a C two. I have no intention of upgrading to an aftermarket sound system; I just want a simple inexpensive way to see the info on the screen.

This happened a couple of weeks ago and then again. ALL the buttons on my steering wheel work, AC, Temperature, Defrost, Recirculation etc , except Audio. ( Dash audio functions work fine! )
The last time, restarting the car and the functions came back to life.
Is there some kind of official "reboot" process for the computers?
