So I pullled into a reststop to relieve myself and when I drove off none of my lamps (high,low,or fog) worked. Along with them my blower fan does not work nor the rear defoggers, wipers, spray with wipers, turn signal (hazards do work though). Is there a fuse or relay that connects them together?
View 2 RepliesI have a BMP 20th and I notice that I cannot turn on my high beams but I can flash them. What the problem could be? I was planning on installing my OEM HIDs tonight but now I am wanting to get this fixed before I put them in.

View 3 RepliesOk so I installed HIDs in my stock housing, I no longer have high beams since I bought the low beam ones only and I think since there is nothing running to where the high beam wire on the oem harness my high beam light on the cluster is stuck on no matter if its on low beams or high beams and its causing my Fogs to not work.
View 7 RepliesJust the other day, I'm driving along and flashed my lights at another car so they can make a left turn into a parking lot. No big deal. However, when doing that, I noticed a buzzing noise when I pulled back the lever to engage the lights.
After I got home, I tested things out and found:
With my Euroswitch, I don't have any lights on during the day (no DRLs, etc). This is when this buzzing noise occurs. As it was getting dark out, I also noticed that when I pull the lever back to engage the high beams (i.e., to flash them) the dashboard would light up (like if I turned on the lights normally).
Now, if I have the park lights or headlights on already (which includes the dashboard), and flash the high beams, the buzzing noise does NOT happen.
It also doesn't happen when I push the lever forward to enable the high beams fully. The buzzing sound seems to come from the lower left, around my left knee area or near the steering column.
Why this is happening, and what the cause might be? What is the possible part that needs to be replaced?
I have a 2004 Jetta GLI 1.8T 6-speed. Seems like the old signature is gone.
2005 Jetta Gli 1.8t. It decided to do some funky things on me today. I has been running perfectly fine up until I went out for dinner.
When I came back to start her up. Everything worked except for: Radio, Low Beams (both) Fogs, windshield wipers/fluid, rear defrost button, turn signals (but hazards worked fine) and the fan for my heater.
What was working, oddly enough are the amber lights, tails and brake lights, all other lights including the high beam, but ONLY in the position when the stalk is pulled toward the driver. (Have to hold it to keep the high beams on).
It's not the battery because my car wouldn't have started at all if that was the case. It's not the alternator because I disconnected my battery and the car ran just fine and never died. I checked all the fuses of the things that went out but nothing seemed out of the ordinary and all of them seemed just fine.
Where to look next or what to do. I have no check engine lights, or any lights for that matter so I have nothing to scan.
I have a b6 Passat and the high beams are not working. I am going to be installing HIDS in the next week or so so I located a vag com disabled the drls and enabled Xenon without the shutter. now no high beams. they will only work with the car off and pull back the switch instead of pushing it forward.. I'm sure there are ppl on here with HIDs and there high beams working on a b6.
View 9 RepliesI'm a new owner of an 05 Toyota Prius. Im loving the car so far, however, i am having an issue with my high beams not working. After doing lots of research it looks like the high beams on the Prius comes from the same bulb, what controls the high beams is the reflector.
My low beams and all other lights are working fine. After removing my bumper and looking through all the wiring I have noticed that their are two plugs that are not attached to anything. The lights look brand new, so my thoughts are that this car had HID lights and they were then replaced to non-HID lights.
How to get the high beams working. I don't see any HID ballast anywhere, so converting it back to HID would be costly since i would need new headlight plus ballast and bulbs.
I tried looking for wiring diagrams but can seem to find any.

I replaced the high beam headlight bulbs in my 09 Sonata, resulting in no high beams working at all. Took out the new and put the old ones back in. Still not working. Checked all the fuses, and the relays. No problems there.
View 3 RepliesDriver side low beam was burnt out. I replaced the bulb with a new one then no low beams would work, high beams work. Turning on manual switch and I checked fuse 7 & 10 fuses which were okay still no lights.
Could it be the low beam relay? The passenger side was working. Do they only come on when it is dark enough as I can't remember if they are running lights and worked in daylight?
I've ran into an issue with my high beams on my 07 Camry SE. All lights are working except high beams. When you switch to high beams the lows only stay on. The dash light comes on and shows high beam indicator, but no brights! Fuses look good, and so do both bulbs. Going to go buy a bulb later today just to try. Like I noted they both just suddenly stopped. I'm leaning towards dimmer switch on column now.
View 11 RepliesLow beams work fine. When I push the Multi-Function lever on the column forward to activate the high beams, I have no lights at all. When it is in low beam (middle) position, low beams work fine. When I pull back for click to pass, only the low beams are active. No high beam indicator in instrument cluster. I have:
1. Replaced both headlight bulbs
2. Replaced the multi-function switch on the column. Checked test pins on switch (MF) they are hot when in either high beam position or click to pass position
3. checked fuses (interior)
#8 - power on both sides of fuse
#16 (15a) High beam headlamps, instrument cluster. ***NO POWER ON EITHER SIDE***
4. checked fuses (engine compartment)
#10 - power on both sides
#21 - Power on both sides
#23 - power on both sides of fuse
My High beams for a 2003 cavalier are not working. I checked the bulbs and they are good, The Low Beams Work and my drls work. I switch from low to high and the blue indicator on the cluster panel comes on.
View 5 RepliesSo I bought an 01 GTI last week with a decent amount of things pre-modified including a Jetta front end swap? Anyway the guy I bought it from knew absolutely nothing about what had been done to the car other than the fact that there was an HID kit installed and it was set up to run high beams only.
I figured I'd remove the HID's until i drop some cash on a pair of nice projector housings. I removed them and plugged up some nice sylvania bulbs as per the OEM standard 9007, and figured I'd have no issues... They are still stuck on high beam only... What could be causing this?
I have an 07 with the AFS lighting. bulb error on dash- as I understand it, this has to do with a faulty shield for the high beam on the passenger side. Can this be repaired? Or should I just shell out the 300 for a used one on ebay.
View 3 RepliesI bought a used 2002 Camry (at a discounted price because of a few dings and dents) and the headlights are not working. The high beams and turn signals work but not the headlights. I changed the bulbs, checked all the fuses and got a new relay but still nothing. I brought it to an electro-mechanic and he told me the ECM was busted and that he could maybe grind it down. This seemed odd to me so I called my old mechanic in the states who said he has never heard of an ECM causing headlights not to work and suggested I install a toggle switch. Does this sound like it could work? Could I do this on my own? I'm pretty handy but am a little hesitant to try any electrical work on my car as I have no experience with electrical work.

View 7 RepliesI have a 2011 ford ranger XL and I get no high beams. My low beams work fine but when I try to either activate the high beams or pull for the flash to pass they do not illuminate and the indicator on the dash doesn't come up either. I have replaced the fuse with a fresh one, even though it didn't need to be replaced, and also replaced the headlights as well cause one was burnt out.

The High Beams don't work at all. Low beams are fine. I've put new bulbs in, and fuse 16 in the passenger compartment has continuity. I'm suspecting the multiple function switch, because when I pull out to engage the high beams, nothing happens. The indicator on the dash doesn't come on, and the low beams don't turn off either.
The second issue is the coolant gauge doesn't read. When I turn the key to the on position, the needle on the gauge moves up just a bit, but it never moves after that. Anything to check?
There are a couple other minor things like the e-brake light on the dash doesn't always turn on, but I can deal with that.
My truck only has low beams. When you move the stalk on the colum backwords it changes nothing, when you move it forwards the low beams go out but the high beams do not come on.
View 14 RepliesI bought my gti about a month ago and every time I warm it up in the morning or any time it has been sitting over a long period of time the rpms sit at about 1300 until about a minute and it goes under 1k ... I am not to familiar with this issue.
