Recently my tail lights went out and my turn signals dont work either, the light for the turn signal on the dash doesn't light up either. My brake lights do work tho and so do my reverse lights.
View 3 RepliesI have checked all fuses, checked wires on top of steering column all checked out ok. Hazards work but when I press brake tail lights just blink with no brake light but the 3rd brake light works??? Signal switch maybe??
View 14 RepliesI started my car yesterday and noticed the headlights, A/C, defroster, turn signals were all not working. I checked the fuses and they're all fine. Checked other posts and it looks like the common denominator is the ignition switch. (Looking for pics) how to change out the ignition switch? And what is the level of difficulty?

View 1 RepliesX2 nights ago at 11:45pm I was driving home from a friends house with my gf and were going about 65 on the highway and it's lightly raining, then all of a sudden my headlights, windsheld wipers, turnsignals, my ac/fans all just shut off so I had to pull over right away. After sitting there for about 15 mintues I figure out my high beams still work but only if I hold them on(clicking it on doesn't work. So I drive home and the next day check all the fuses in the drivers door and they r all fine. Everything else works in the car but the stuff stated above. My car was reposesd about a year ago when I lost my job and they put this thing I have to enter a code every month, it messed my windsheld wipers and turn signals up before but not anything else! But it still works and the other stuff doesn't, and behind the dash it sounded like crackling and smelt like burning electric right before it shut off.
View 6 RepliesI found out last night that all 3 of my brake lights are out. However, my tail lights work, and my turn-signals work. So obviously its not a big wiring deal. I was looking for the brake switch but i don't know where its at because i looked underneath. What fuse is the brake lights cause my manual doesn't have it listed. I drive a 04 Elantra GLS.

I have had this ongoing issue with the rear running lights on my 337; the lights just don't turn on all the time. At first I thought the bulbs were burning out but they aren't. I can just knock on the tail lights and the lights come on and stay on. I assume that it's not a short or bad contact or they would flicker.
View 6 Replies2005 Jetta Gli 1.8t. It decided to do some funky things on me today. I has been running perfectly fine up until I went out for dinner.
When I came back to start her up. Everything worked except for: Radio, Low Beams (both) Fogs, windshield wipers/fluid, rear defrost button, turn signals (but hazards worked fine) and the fan for my heater.
What was working, oddly enough are the amber lights, tails and brake lights, all other lights including the high beam, but ONLY in the position when the stalk is pulled toward the driver. (Have to hold it to keep the high beams on).
It's not the battery because my car wouldn't have started at all if that was the case. It's not the alternator because I disconnected my battery and the car ran just fine and never died. I checked all the fuses of the things that went out but nothing seemed out of the ordinary and all of them seemed just fine.
Where to look next or what to do. I have no check engine lights, or any lights for that matter so I have nothing to scan.
My driver side tail light is dim when i brake. Passenger side is fine, changed the bulb and nothing. Thought it was a fuse and nothing. Checked it with Tesla light and i get power and all but still dim with new bulb and fuse.
View 7 RepliesAir condition will not work in my car. The A/c button will light up but will not do anything. The fan speed will only work on high and not on the other settings. I mean when I set it on 1-3 it will not kick on the fan. When I switch it to 4 it will kick the fan on but no A/C still even at that setting.
View 1 RepliesCar ran perfectly normal. come back out start the car, the EPC light comes on, and my gas pedal doesn't work. Doesn't do a THING...first 3 times i killed it and re-started it, the rpms shot up to 4500 for a second then fell to around 1100 and stayed there. now i start it and it just hangs at 1100. car has 47k miles on it, a 3in DP 2.5in magnaflow catback, short ram intake, TIP, 710N DV, stock N75. Only thing I can think of is TPS but I don't have access to a vag com.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 F150 XLT and the passenger side tail light doesn't work whatsoever. The light does work for hazards, turn signal, or when braking. The passenger front turn signal works, so does the front and the driver sides tail light. Only the 1 tail light doesn't work. I bought a new brake light bulb and it didnt't fix it, so i swapped the drivers and passengers bulbs out, and it still didn't work. I replaced the 10 amp fuse (#36) in the fuse box. What is causing the problem.
View 2 RepliesMy buddys mk4 GLi headlights and signals just stopped working if he holds the stalk in position the brights will come on but that's it. The car is a 2005 GLi with a euro switch, Were going to replace the switch in a little bit, as of now all fuses seem fine.

View 3 RepliesMy '99 F150 is having wiring issues. It started with a left flasher being fast and the rear bulb not working. I put in new bulb and that didn't fix it. Then I realized that I also had no tail lights. The reverse lights are good and the brake lights work too.
So far I have searched for and repaired suspicious splices done by PO, added a ground wire that was cut off from the trailer wiring harness, checked every fuse that I could with an ohmmeter and I pulled the multi function switch and tested it with an ohmmeter also. It tested fine but I did find one of the female pin connectors had pulled out of the harness. I managed to get it back in and seemed to click into place alright. Somewhere over the course of all that I now have both sides of my flashers fast and still no tail lights. Good news is that I haven't broken my brake lights or reverse lights yet.
Could I have a bad flasher relay? Earlier in the process I did have my 4 way flashers working correctly and a couple times I even had the turn signals going. Now, none of the rear blinking lights work but the front ones go 90 to nothing and I still have no tail lights. My truck does have the auto lamp thing.
I just got a 2000 F350 cc drw 7.3l.
I did search but have had no luck. My turn signals do not work, unless my foot is on the brake pedal my green arrow indicator wont even turn on. When they do my bulbs work but don't cycle so I know all the bulbs are good as I had my wife check all four corners when I got them to come on for a split second. I have tried replacing the MFS and the turn signal relay under the radio in the dash.... When I do turn on my blinkers I can hear the relay click once but that is it, no more.
I tried checking the wiring in the column and tilting the column to its extremes while trying to engage the turn signals. Also, if I unplug the brake light switch then I do not get an arrow on the IC to light up so I am guessing the power flows through that switch. I don't have a chilton manual yet and the owners manual was not in the truck. I did check fuse 23 ?
I just found a nice Prius C for sale with little damage to the front right corner, no frame damage or anything, just some bodywork needed. So, after it was fixed up. I brought the car back and there is weird issue that I have - turn signals and Hazard lights dont work. When I turn it on, i can hear clicks from it, but I dont see lights blinking on the dashboard and my head/tail lights dont blink as well.

View 2 RepliesToday, I replaced the flexible coupling in my steering column. All went well and seemed great until I realized my turn signals were not working. I tried the hazards and promptly heard the 10amp fuse blow. I took the paneling back off and realized that the wire bundle to the turn signal was being pinched above the steering column.
After lowering the front of the column down and removing the wires, I noticed that there was some damage. One wire (blue) was cut and a few others had damage to the sleeves. I repaired the sleeves and fixed the broken wire. The turn signals now work perfectly fine, but when I activate the hazards all the signals go dark. I cannot find any blown fuses and the relay appears to be working just fine for the turn signals.
I have a problem with my 20th anniversary gti. My 1st and 2nd gear won't work. Every other gear works fine, the gears never grind before or any unusually noise. I was pulling off my driveway and they just stop working. Even when the car it's on I can move my shifter to 1st and 2nd without the clutch and nothing happens.
