GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Speaker Makes Bad Noise

I have a 03 vw jetta gli 24 valve and i would like to change the speakers because 2 are blown and the third one makes bad noise. The problem is that i don't know what kind of speakers to buy.

Last night on my drive home, I was listening to my iphone 5 with the apple lighting cord. I have an aftermarket kenwood kdc-x697 head unit. I also have all the correct wiring harness, and antenna harness. So last night my head unit started skippy through the song being played on my iphone. I didn't know what the deal was so I removed the face plate. Put the face plate back on and my head unit did not turn on. Once I got home, I pulled the single din head unit out and the unit started back up. Now my passenger front door speaker has a crackling/whine noise.
Last night and all this morning I have searched and have found a lot of monsoon issues with wiring. However the majority of finds all ended up with someone going to the dealer and never doing this issue themselves. How to fix this or where to start. I'm going to pull the radio now. I do know that most of the time a whine in the speakers is from alternator whine which is true but like I said it only happens to this speaker.

When driving my car, my oem shifter makes a clicking noise going into gear. is there a way to get it to stop, other than getting a short throw?

The speaker in my drivers door is blown or there's a wiring issue I haven't taken off the card yet to inspect it. I have two stock speakers from a buddies car that only have 8k and two years on them. My question is should I stick with stock ones since I plan on sticking with the stock head unit, or should I upgrade? What speakers that work well with the stock system?

Whenever I turn on the ac the air smells terrible and makes the ac almost unusable. I think there must be some mold or something.

My 337 transmission is acting a bit weird lately. Sometimes when I shift the gear from neutral into the first gear too quickly when the car is stationary (with the clutch fully pressed), the gear or the transmission makes a distinguish sound. I don't know how to describe this sound. It sounds like gears knocking each other in order for it to engage or set in place. It sounds different from shifting gear without fully pressing down the clutch. When I took the car to the mechanic, he test drove the car around the block but didn't hear anything strange. So he told me to wait till this problem becomes worse and happens more frequently.

So, it's been 8 years with this awesome car. Still enjoying every day. Over the past year or so, I've noticed my engine get gradually louder and louder. By that I mean, the overall engine noise at low RPM. It's a mechanical kind of noise. Clicking, etc. The engine has 101,500 miles on it.
For the past 2 days now, this noise has gotten dramatically louder. I've tried to capture it in the video below. Might have to listen with headphones. The noise is most noticeable at idle and then goes away after about 2000 RPM. You'll see. What this might be? Btw, there is no reduction in the performance of the car.

I've been having an issue with my 20th lately and haven't been able to figure out what it is. The car has 55k on it and recently (within the last 500-1000 miles) I've noticed a grind/screech/clang almost metallic sound when I get the car above 3500 rpm. At first I though it might have been a drivetrain issue but when sitting in netural it also does it. The car is all stock except for a VF lower mount and R32 short shifter.

I just bought a forge 007 and an apr chip. When i installed the DV i ran it in reverse and am getting a fluttering noise.... i'm running the yellow spring which should be right for a chipped car.

well what are the chances that all in one week.. I would get my front end hit in the same spot that i just fixed.
get a crack in my windshield.
get a flat tire.
Have the tab that holds the passenger sun visor in place break off.
Have a new "clunking" noise in the front end.

I just pulled my axles, cleaned and regreased the cv's, and replaced all the torn boots with better ones. Now it seems as though the joints make noise when they didn't before. It's kind of a metal scraping sound, at low speed over sudden bumps, when the wheels are turned.

So, when i throttle down i get a hissing noise, almost like a very small jet engine. then when i let off the throttle I get the psh psh psh psh noise and not the solid pssshhh noise. It sounds real bad while actually driving... some weird ticking noise and It's not a rod or an exhaust leak cause I couldn't find one or any of the shops I brought it to. What this could be? I'm tired of it sounding like a subaru. It has a 3 inch tb exhaust and f4t frankenturbo setup with 415cc software and injectors. I just picked up my new GLI the other day. It sounds like a diesel when I start it up. It only has 200 miles so far, so I'm not sure if it's because it hasn't been broken in. My dad has a brand new A4 1.8T with about as many miles as my GLI and it doesn't sound anything like mine when its started up. I don't remember other GLI's sounding like mine when I test drove them. Is this normal or am I being oversensative?

I went to go get gas today and tried to open my fuel door with he button on my door and it wouldn't open. The trunk opened fine but when I pressed the gas button it made no noise and didn't move at all. I've never had a problem with my fuel cap and all of my locks besides this one work fine. I also can't manually open my fuel cap from the back, because in my GLI, you can't bet much further back behind the tail lights.

I recently developed a tapping/popping noise come from the passenger's side of my GLI. The noise is kind of hard to explain, it's similar to the popping sound the seats make every once in awhile when you move around in them, if that makes any sense. I can't really get a video of the sound because I don't think it's quite loud enough. It's starting to get worse, and getting aggravating. It's not coming from the seat, it's more up near the front of the car, maybe where the door hinges are? I can't really pinpoint it.

I just picked up a 20th and it seems when it's running and parked i get this very distinct rattling noise from somewhere in my engine bay. I go to put the clutch down and it stops, as soon as i lay off the clutch it comes back (almost humming) could it maybe be the trans?

I have an 04.5 jetta gli ... Mods are unitronice stage 2, eurojet tb exhaust, cold air intake, diverter valve, nothing else really.
So, whenever I'm driving alone my car is fine. But once I have a really heavy person in my car, or maybe 2 people in it, as soon as I start the car I hear a vibration. It sounds as though it could be my exhaust? Because before I had it installed months ago it would never do this.
Also, as I accelerate I feel and hear that it is bogging like my car is struggling to go fast and i do see some signs of loss of power. So is it the exhaust?

My car is 2000 GTI 1.8T. When you put the key in ignition and turn it( not to start car, but get all the instrument lights to come on), after 15 seconds there is a "beep" noise and the oil light flashes.
Vag-Com doesn't pick up any faults, and when you start the car and start driving the light doesn't come on, and I am talking 600 miles 5 times in the last month!!!
Only when the key is in Ignition on position does it beep. Also recently the brake light has started coming on as you drive. It flashes and beeps only when you driving! Vag does not pick up this fault either...
