I am wondering what size spacers i should run in the front and back?
I am going to be on the stock aristos for a bit but would like some poke, fill the fender or maybe even come out a little bit further.
I just had new tires put on my rx330 and had an unbelievable combination of errors occur. The tire store put on 215/65 r17 tires on the front and 235/65 r17 tires on the rear. I know this sounds impossible but that's what happened. So I ended up with a substantial mismatch in tire sizes front to back.
Unfortunately I didn't discover this until 2 weeks later after driving around 225 miles half of which was high speed highway driving. Before the tires were changed the car ran straight without any pull to either side. Now it pulls to the right.
The tire store has offered to replace the tires with the correct ones and to compensate me for any damage to the transfer case, viscous coupling unit or transmission.
So how do I determine what level of damage occurred if any? Would all the damage be evident already simply driving the car. Alternatively, would the damage be a reduction in the operational lifespan of the drive train leading up to a "surprise" future failure?
The tire store has asked for an estimate of the repair costs which will be evaluated by an appraiser.
I don't want to identify the tire store until after a final settlement has been reached. However, it is a popular nation wide tire retailer.
So my Gti 337 it starts but it turns right back off starts and turns right back off people are telling me it's the fuel pump checked it it's not that people are saying its my ECM.

View 1 RepliesStarted losing pressure on my clutch pedal yesterday. When I would push in the clutch pedal it would not push back up to the reset position. It would only come back up half the way. Now today I have a steady ABS light and ASR light on. Checked for fault codes and found no trouble code. Checked brake fluid resevoir for leaks; still has plenty of fluid. Checked slave cylinder bleeder valve for leaks and looks dry. The only thing I think it could be is the clutch master cylinder. If I drive the car for a few minutes I am able to build pressure back up in the clutch, however the ABS light and ASR light still remain while driving. Turning the car off and back on again shuts off the light for a few minutes until I start driving, but the clutch pressure starts back low again.

That was almost a week ago, today I went back to the same place to get a short shifter, I told them the problem while I was there and they said it was my coil packages. I replaced all 4 and im still having the same problem...

The issue: when I'm driving (not every time) and letting the car coast to a stop after going about 30+mph lightly applying breaks, the car seems to die for a split second and come back to life. My radio turns off(restarts) headlights dim, heater fans die out. Rpms dip very low; but the car never totally dies or stalls.
I had my plugs changed recently thinking that was the the issue, but didn't work. Also my car is apr chipped. Another symptom is it idles pretty rough and lastly. Occasionally the car makes a funny high tuned sound that matches the rpm (ie revs up higher noise) ....
I have a 2005 GLi and noticed my back right woofer wasn't working, only the tweeter, how do i go about taking the door apart, is it just the two screws on the bottom of the door?
View 6 RepliesThe other day my transmission was driving fine, until I stopped to let someone out. When I tried to throw it back into gear, it wouldn't engage at all, just had a slight grind almost like the sound of a chain coming off a bike (so I pushed back in the clutch and parked it). I haven't been having any issues with it nor have I been driving it hard.
View 2 RepliesI got a quick question about limp mode. I know this has prolly been covered a few times but I couldn't find anything too similar. Well, to start out my car cannot boost past 3lbs. If i turn the car off and take the terminals off the battery and let it reset for a while, it goes back to normal for a while. After a few times driving it, limp mode comes back on.
The first time this happened, the check engine light came on also. But once I reset the battery it turned off and went back to normal. But it never stays away for good, limp mode always ends up coming back...
My reverse light switch bit the dust and I'm trying to find the OEM part number. Would it be the same part as the MK4 R32 for our O2M 6spd trans? (Part #: 02T945415P)

I have recently replaced my stock pads with pbr ceramics,front and rear. now my rear brakes are squeeling loud everytime i back up. i have tried to file the edges, did not work. What to do? change pads?

View 10 Repliesso whenever i unlock my car with the remote on the key, i can open the door. while the door is still open it will lock back, turning the alarm on as well. would that have anything to do with the key? or some other problem?
View 13 RepliesSo over the past few months, my passenger side seat has been giving me some issues. When I pull the latch up to get into the back, sometimes the seat wouldn't click back into place when pushing it back down, it would just 'bounce'. After playing with the lever, up +down, eventually it would lock back in place. Yesterday however, I could not get it to lock in place, it just keep popping back up.
The seat also no longer folds forward, it is stuck in the _l position..
ive actually owned 4 volkswagens one of which was a 2002 big turbo gti which made 325whp..... so now i have a 2005 Jetta GLI with about 41k on it. This car has a serious idle problem. Start up is fine and it runs great and hits boost perfect. It has a 6 speed, APR chip intake, forge DV, and DP. When i come to a traffic light and come to a complete stop after about 10 seconds it hiccups and the idle drops to abou 600 and then back up to normal idle. It will also do it if i just leave the car running in neutral it will randomly stutter. I have new spark plugs and new fuel injectors and i only use 93.
View 1 RepliesI have been having an issue with my interior lights, namely all the dash lights (cluster, climate, stereo, etc)
I have to keep switching the euro switch back and forth until it finally switches on the interior lights. The headlights still work but not the fogs, unless the interior lights go on.
What this could be? Perhaps an electric problem? Faulty euro switch?
well what are the chances that all in one week.. I would get my front end hit in the same spot that i just fixed.
get a crack in my windshield.
get a flat tire.
Have the tab that holds the passenger sun visor in place break off.
Have a new "clunking" noise in the front end.

View 4 RepliesWent to lower my front end today and after trying for 15 min the nut directly under the spring was frozen. i sprayed it with PB blaster let it sit for like 20 min, kept on spraying it during that time. tried adter that and still did not budge a mm. even tried with a flat head and a hammer trying loosen it. did not work. was wondering if there was any other way i can get it loose?
