Today I used my remote to unlock my car without a problem. When I got home from work I went to lock my car and nothing. I went a bought a new battery and replaced it, still no luck which now means I can lock my car but cannot set my alarm. I tried my extra remote and no luck with that one either.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2003 20th anniversary edition and when i lock the car with the remote it sometimes does the alarm honk and sometimes doesn't. when it does honk after locking it, about a minute or so later the alarm goes off. but when it doesn't honk after locking it with the remote i am fine, nothing happens and the car is locked.
View 5 RepliesSo yesterday I finally got around to replacing the driver side door lock module in my GLI. I bought a OEM replacement. After taking 4 hours to install it yesterday I locked the doors and armed the alarm to see if replacing the module would stop the possessed car alarm. It didn't, at 1:30 am the alarm went off waking up me and my family. I've ran out of options of what it could be setting off the alarm and it's annoying having to unhook the battery every night.
View 6 Repliesso whenever i unlock my car with the remote on the key, i can open the door. while the door is still open it will lock back, turning the alarm on as well. would that have anything to do with the key? or some other problem?

My key remote stopped working and it will not unlock/lock, open trunk, or panic button for a while, so ill just lock the door putting the key in the door and turning twice. Now i do the same thing to lock the doors, but now it honk like it used to, until i open and close the driver rear door?
View 14 RepliesI have a 20th anniversary gti and the driver side door wont lock and the gas door wont unlock. The passenger door is fine. The drivers side door will not lock from the switch inside the car or the remote. I already replaced the locking module and nothing changed. I also unplugged and cleaned the 3 plugs for the drivers side wiring harness.
View 2 RepliesI have a 1999 F250 super duty with the V10 engine. I purchased it when it was @111k miles. When I got it the passenger side lock did not always work and after time they both stopped. I have ready the post on how to repair them for little or no money that is not my question. My question Is there a way that I can tell if the truck had a remote for the locks when it was new and if not could I put it in the truck? Yes my wife likes that I unlock her door first but a remote would be nice when it is raining.

I want to know how can i be sure that the car dose not have the alarm unplugged or those not have at all and if it doesn't can I put the VIP RS3200 security system.

I've also noticed about a week ago in my gauge cluster that the sign for the door being opened was on and then it turned off and then flicker on and off for about 30 sec ? So I think that has to do with the alarm but my question is how do I fix this problem???
View 8 RepliesJust yesterday my alarm went off. I thought maybe it was because a cycle went by with loud pipes, but I disarmed, opened the door, re-armed and it went off again about 10 minutes later.
Last night it went off/on for about 2 hours every 10 minutes when locked and armed/disarmed. The last time I went out, disarmed it, left it unlocked and started walking away when it went off. Scared the hell outta me at 3am. What the problem could be?
MY mk4 key fob has been working just fine till the other day. I went to unlock the doors with the key fob and the alarm started to sound. Proceeded to unlock the doors with the actual key and then that shut the alarm off. So I can only lock my car with the key itself now. I changed the battery out of the fob and still nothing. Every time I go to hit unlock it triggers the alarm.

View 4 RepliesSo recently my car alarm on my GLI has been going off randomly while I'm at work and school. The alarm goes off for about 5 minutes and then stops. Tonight it's going off constantly and I don't want to wake up my neighbors and I need to sleep tonight. It's going off every 5 minutes even after I disarm the car. I've been searching up why it's going off online and haven't had any luck finding the source. Also after a few minutes of unlocking it the car locks itself and then the alarm sounds.
View 8 RepliesTurns out you can. Each door has a manual actuator on the inside door jam area beside the door catch. It's covered by one of the rubber grommets and the grommet has a symbol of a lock on it. If you remove the rubber cover, you can actuate the lock manually by inserting your key and turning it. All doors seem to have this. Mind you, I didn't check the trunk. I keep learning something with the Tiguan
View 24 RepliesI have problem in my alarm siren, need to say it's an original electronic with 3 pins connector, the problem is i don't hear any sound to the siren when it's going off , when i arm it i do hear 1 peep and when i disarm i do hear 2 peeps, but when i open any door it's just blinking the hazard without any sound! i checked via VAG-5051 in 46 then 02 to find faults, i found 1 fault : H12 no communication!
When I do 46 then 03 to operate the siren i do hear it just peeping ! I wondered if the 5051 telling me no communication with the sirenH12, then how do the siren peeps in lock and unlock?
My GLI's remote key will not lock the drivers door when I try to lock the car. I can unlock the entire car with the remote but when I try to lock it, it locks all the doors except for the driver's door.
View 2 RepliesI have found a new issue with my trunk. When I hit the release button the latch unlocks but when I set my alarm and then attempt to open the trunk it is still unlocked even after the alarm has been set!! The worst part is the alarm doesn't ever go off after I open it..
View 1 RepliesI tried searching and couldn't find any info about this... the problem is that after my FMIC install my hood won't lock unless i force it down by sitting on it... I checked with tape and everything to see if my upper FMIC pipe was hitting the hood but its not, and nothing else is hitting the hood.
The hood mechanism is working since I went over it with a screwdriver to see how it locked and everything. The only thing that comes to mind is that since the same piece that holds the hood mechanism is the one that holds my IC that is sagged down? but everything seems to be tight and not moving.

I have a problem with my 20th anniversary gti. My 1st and 2nd gear won't work. Every other gear works fine, the gears never grind before or any unusually noise. I was pulling off my driveway and they just stop working. Even when the car it's on I can move my shifter to 1st and 2nd without the clutch and nothing happens.
