On my GLI, the passenger side doorpin rattles obnoxiously. I read an old thread that said to wrap the door pin with scotch tape, but I was hoping for something more permanent.

View 15 RepliesJust in case the dealer wants to be a jerk and skip fixing the rattles I have on my car, just curious about creaking noises coming from the front doors. I have one that is pretty bad on the passenger side door. It sounds like a small creek, it happens when i go through roads that are not perfect. The noise goes away if I push against the door panel, not so much when I yank it in. I currently have a broken driver seat too, so hard to pinpoint if I have the exact same problem on the driver side front door, but the creaking is the same.
View 14 RepliesI tried searching around, but nothing. the rear door on the passenger side sticks out a little, im wondering if there is an adjustment i can do to fix this.. its out less than a quarter inch. someone said adjust the striker, but i cant seem to find it.
View 8 RepliesI'm new to Volkswagen, never had one before. Just bought my buddies 2003 GTI 20th anniversary #106. My bud install glass projector headlights, which he has the projector as his DRL's and for some reason when you release the E brake, which turns the DRL's, the projector lights on, they flicker and only the driver side stays on leaving the passenger side off. If I pull the E brake back up to turn them off and back down again it flickers on but won't stay on. Sometimes it does switch sides to where the passenger side works and the driver side doesn't but its the passenger side that mostly has the problem. Now I can continue to do this and eventually after 3 or 4 pulls of the E brake i can get them both working. I'm OCD about these little things like this and i want it to work right.
View 4 RepliesSo I just recently purchased an HID kit for my GLI. After installing i went to turn them on and my passenger side is out. But when we tested both sides individually they both worked fine. I checked the bulb and tested it with a new one and the new one didnt turn on either. We tried 3 different ballasts and still nothing. I took it to my local shop where i bought them and they were stumped as well. We tested it for power and yes there is power getting to it. Along with all this, my highbeam light on my dash is on?

View 4 RepliesI recently developed a tapping/popping noise come from the passenger's side of my GLI. The noise is kind of hard to explain, it's similar to the popping sound the seats make every once in awhile when you move around in them, if that makes any sense. I can't really get a video of the sound because I don't think it's quite loud enough. It's starting to get worse, and getting aggravating. It's not coming from the seat, it's more up near the front of the car, maybe where the door hinges are? I can't really pinpoint it.

Figured I'd ask to see if there has been more of a solution as the threads seemed pretty old.
When I accelerate or rev, the car has a rattling sound coming from the passenger side. If i take the car out of gear and slow down or let it idle, the noise disappears completely.
I have no clue where it came from but now my car smells like mildew. Where and how it came in? Also how to get rid of the smell? To make things worse I have monster mats so I never knew it was there until I smelled it then lifted the mat.
View 8 RepliesYesterday (well for a while, but yesterday was bad) I had some brake issues, turns out the passenger side front caliper went bad (corroded, doesn't retract) so I need to get another one. Only place I saw Red caliper for my jazz blue for sale was on ecstuning and that was 189. Seems a little steep so I was wondering if there are any other places who sell the Red OEM calipers. If not I might just go through ecs.
View 2 RepliesCouple of days ago I notice some rubbing on my front passenger side and I'm pretty sure it's my sway that rubs on the axle. I could understand that if I was slammed but I'm not even all the way down on my vmaxxs. I have about 15 threads left and it still rubs especially while making left turns. When I first got my coilovers I used to drive all the way down with no issues but now it's getting worse and worse and I don't know what to do besides going up couple of threads. The tricky part is that my driver's side front doesn't rub at all. Any ides why would start rubbing all of the sudden when it never rubbed before even when I was lower? Is there anything I could do, maybe adjust the end links or something? I know I can cut the sway out but but I'm pretty sure there is another way to fix it since it started rubbing recently.
View 13 RepliesI just picked up a Black 20th tonight. All stock with 48,000 miles. I'll get some pics up asap. But for now I'm gonna be lurking around trying to work out the kinks of the car. The Temp gauge doesn't work and the passenger door only opens from the inside when first unlocked.

View 1 Repliesso i got a set of saw blades of my buddy for nothing. before installing the car drove true and after lowering and putting adopters and saw blades on the passenger side wheel wobbles and pulls to the right its pretty much all over the road and cant for the life of me figure it out. only thing i can think of is axle or wheel bearing but there's no movement in the wheel when i move it side to side. only the right side seems to have this issue.
View 2 RepliesI have had a bad squeak on the front passenger side suspension. It only happens while you are pulling into a driveway, going over a speed bump, or driving slow on a bumpy road. I brought my car to my mechanic and he thought it was the control arms that were shot. They were changed after forking over some cash. I noticed right away the handling was better due to the control arms which is said were shot. But... the squeak is still there, and has not become lower sounding at all. He said it might have something to do with the suspension but it is not worth it to change all the parts.
View 11 RepliesMy rear camber is different from driver side and pass. the ride height is the same, looking from where the fender tucks the tire. but if you look from the rear it cambers in more. I don't know the problem.

I have two stock speakers from a buddies car that only have 8k and two years on them. My question is should I stick with stock ones since I plan on sticking with the stock head unit, or should I upgrade? What speakers that work well with the stock system?

I happened to look behind the passenger side seat and there was 3in. of water on the floor so i looked up at the sunroof and there wasn't any stains or anything from water as well as the doors windows everything... It's the strangest thing I've seen the only thing wet is on the floor...
View 4 RepliesSo i have a 2005 mkiv TR GLI. I had thought that the car leaks water at the front passenger side however it was a little drip, until last night. It rained heavily last night and I got in my car to find a good amount of water under my front passenger side mat, nowhere else. I left no windows open, and it looks to be running down between the side of the dash, and the inside of the door on the passenger side.
