Where it's located i heard passenger side behind front bumper. i just looked for about 30 min can't locate it. Reason being is when i check the outdoor temp i get ---F so either it fell off or it's bad lol if someone can post a quick pic ....
View 8 RepliesSo I'm at a momentary loss for what's wrong. My wife's '02 Passat GLX is not getting a signal from the outdoor ambient temp sensor. Both her cluster and climate control display show "--" and I've replaced the sensor, cleaned the connector and done a brief outside inspection of the wiring from their to the engine bay harness which all looks fine... In the cars defense, were the second owners, it's been dealer maintained and is in immaculate condition so there is no oil soaked or ghetto hacked wiring, period..

View 3 Replies1992 3.0L aero crancks but won't start. Gives codes 114 and 116, these are about IAT and ECT sensors. Where is the ECT exactly located? I see 3 or 4 sensors that are screwed to intake manifold over there. I would like to find the sensor for dash cooling meter too, because it is moving only a fraction of the distance that it should. Thermosthat is checked, it seems to work.

View 5 RepliesI'm an owner of a 04 Gli car is great just had a problem this weekend my dash marks coolant level I fill it up all the way and later on it has none I checked the hoses and there is no leak and the fan does not turn on i bought it a new fan switch does .a question i have is at what temp does my fan need to turn on? any is it marking coolant...my check engine light is not on.
View 1 RepliesI need a replacement driver side door, towing mirror for a 2011 Ford F250 SuperDuty with turn signal, heated, electrically adjustable manual-extend and manual fold options. The truck VIN number is 1FT7X2B67BEC96261. The truck also has an Outside-Air-Temperature indication which is what I'm not sure about. It is my understanding that the Outside-Air-Temperature sensor may be in the side mirror. Looking for any info on the temperature sensor located on this truck? I found an aftermarket mirror while I can not afford Ford. However, the aftermarket mirror ad says it does not have Outside-Air-Temperature and I would like to keep that working.
View 1 Repliesso my check engine light came on recently and i took my car to a local shop to get it checked out and they told me one of my o2 sensors might be bad and that i should replace it. but because the catalytic converter that i have installed is an aftermarket one(installed before i bought the car used), they told me they were unable to remove the sensor attached because it was welded(?) on or something to that effect and they didnt have the tools to fix it.
so i did some research and found a better shop that deals with catalytic converters and exhaust systems and im thinking of taking my car there to see what they can do BUT, i was just researching online and ive found other posts saying that it may not even be a bad o2 sensor, it could be a different problem but the its just the bad o2 sensor code that comes up and now i dont know what to do.
just wanted to see what everyones opinion is on this subject or if they have gone through this before!
I have a 20th GTI and the Temp light is flashing. The car does not overheat, and runs normally. The temp gauge acts normally.

The temperature actually just rises when i start driving and the mpg doesnt change at all? Should I just disconnect the battery so it resets? ]

View 11 RepliesSo the motor has a new oil pump and pickup and was all cleaned out. Sludge is not the issue here. I'm running the royal purple filter ( the equivalent of mann 950/4) and royal purple 5w30. My heart dropped after the light came on on the first drive. I pulled out over and checked the oil and for leaks and... full with no leak. So I checked the temp and proceeded to drive home. I don't have an oil pressure gauge but I'm getting the bottom of the fill cap with oil so I know it's making it all the way to the top of the motor, and the motor is not loud or sounding starved.
Basically, I wanted a second opinion that it is most likely oil pressure sensor malfunction. Garrett 60 trim, feed and return lines are brand new and sufficient diameter.
I have an 04 GLI and keeps throwing a code for the 02 sensor, and after putting the car on the lift, and disconnecting the 02 sensor harness, a fine oil leaks out at the end of the connector and smells and looks like power steering fluid.
