I just installed a eurojet race FMIC (bumper fitting was horrible but thats another story) and now my outside temperature and mpg readings are all off on the cluster computer. The temperature actually just rises when i start driving and the mpg doesnt change at all? Should I just disconnect the battery so it resets? ]
View 1 RepliesMy sister has a 2004 gli 1.8t with 65k. The temperature gauge says its overheating, the cel is on, but the car appears to run fine, the fluid levels are appear to be fine, and you cant see any leaks. Her fiance thinks its water pump issues...

View 15 RepliesI just installed a brand new 42DD downpipe in my car about two weeks back. About a week later, I started noticing a rattle that I hadn't heard before, coming from the undercarriage, about mid way back, where I assumed the downpipe is. I only hear the rattle at low RPMs, like 1000-1500 revs, when I pull away from a light. I can stop the rattle by giving it more gas before letting the clutch all the way out, but if it's something I can easily fix myself, I'd rather just do it.
I searched some DIYs and found this. [URL]..................................... I bought new sets of stage 1 dogbone mounts that I need to put in soon, probably next week when I'm on break, if that will remedy it.
I have a 20th anniversary gti and recently installed my 3 inch down pipe.. but after i got it installed my check engine light comes on. the code says its an 02 sensor. i got that o2 sensor spacer from ecs tuning.. but the light keeps on coming on.. what should i do? this light bugs me so much....
View 10 RepliesOk so I installed HIDs in my stock housing, I no longer have high beams since I bought the low beam ones only and I think since there is nothing running to where the high beam wire on the oem harness my high beam light on the cluster is stuck on no matter if its on low beams or high beams and its causing my Fogs to not work.
View 7 Repliesi just installed my downpipe and i took it around the block and i opened the hood and there was smoke coming from the turbo could it be b.c i didnt put the washers witht he bolts to connect the dp but i put them on really tight or could it be the wd40 i sprayed on to loosen the bolts?

View 7 RepliesI have a 337 and the check engine light came on a couple months ago and i got the clutch safety switch replaced. but I forgot to take the light back off with my friends snap on tool. the car runs fine now but another friend with a TDI jetta said something about a master ecu reset? something like turn the key in the on position then hold the gas pedal for like 15 secs? I tried it but nothing happened. I just want the light to go away...

Now I need to install out temp sensor.I know it's mounted somewhere on the driver side behind air duct.I just need the picture to see how exactly this sensor is mounted. My new (used) euro bora sports cluster. I temporally install the sensor.
View 12 RepliesI'm an owner of a 04 Gli car is great just had a problem this weekend my dash marks coolant level I fill it up all the way and later on it has none I checked the hoses and there is no leak and the fan does not turn on i bought it a new fan switch does .a question i have is at what temp does my fan need to turn on? any is it marking coolant...my check engine light is not on.

View 8 RepliesI'm not sure what to make of this ... I disconnected the battery before installing . The gauge seems to be reading correct based on what i researched. If there was a slight leak would it throw the CEL ? is it maybe just a one time thing that needs to be cleared afterwards ? Car drives fine and I plan on trying to stop at autozone to get there crapo freebie scan . Kinda annoyed considering everything went smoothly up until I drove the car more then 50 miles .

View 5 RepliesI just replaced my turbo inlet hose because I was losing boost due to a crack in the OEM one. After I replaced it, my speedometer stopped working and my gas gauge goes up and down when I drive it. I saw a sensor broken off when I looked under hood but I couldn't tell which one it was. Besides obviously replacing that sensor. I'm not sure if the two are correlated.

View 24 RepliesCar now has about 67,000 miles on it. I drove it from the bay to Lake Tahoe 2 weeks ago, which is when I first noticed the light. I tried to go to a couple of autozone's to get the code read but none of them would do it. I also noticed that now on my boost gauge that i am only reading 4-5psi under load, so its not quite feeling like i'm getting as much power as before. What a common issue is at about this many miles on a 1.8t car? (GLI)
View 3 RepliesDriving into work this morning I noticed that my car was a bit sluggish. So in the name of science (mainly curiousity) I decided, that I would try to punch it. Came to find out that my girl is runnin a little sluggish. Turbo was pulling as hard as it normally does, and my gauge was saying that im only hitting 9lbs when usually its around 11lbs. Could this be a sign of my turbo going out and now is time for a k04-22 or is it time to change the springs in my 007?
by the way I just rolled over 113k. had all the services done at 104k
I've had this problem a while but now i want to get around to fixing it.. my boost gauge is always at 0 now and sometimes when i drive the car it starts working but it starts like sticking... like when i didn't have my chip it would go up and down really fast between 10 - 15psi... i heard from a friend that you can take it apart and re-adjust some screws or something so it works like a charm... right now its just like frozen at 0 psi when i drive it doesnt go down or up.
