i just recently put in 35W 8000K hi/lo HID's in my GLI the problem is for some reason on my instrument cluster it says my hi beams are one which they are not and it is only lightly illuminated. if u turn on the hi beams the hi beam switch on the cluster turns on and gets brighter so is their any way i could have the switch completely turned off like it was with stock bulbs?

Other Facts: Had this setup for about 8 or 9 months now with no problems whatsoever. Drove my car home last night and they worked fine. Got in my car tonight for the first time since last night and my headlights wouldnt turn on. All lights, work, just not the low beam HID's (and the high beams, but that's because there's no bulbs in there).
The fact that neither bulb works leads me to believe its the relay harness. Whats the deal? What can I check? All connections and fuse for relay harness seem fine...
Last night was the 1st night my car spent OUTSIDE the garage and it POURED! Anyhow, the door ajar symbol is lit in my instrument cluster but all the doors are shut. I did the walk around, made sure all the doors and hatch are closed. The symbol would disappear for a minute then reappear. Whats up with that? I never came across a problem like that.. Where are the sensors so I can check them? Are they the little things that stick out underneath the door?

With DRLs enabled and a Euro switch in Auto, I get HIDs, city lights and side markers during the day - no DRL indicator on instrument cluster.. With switch in Off, I get only HIDs, but with DRL indicator lit. In Auto I expected only HIDs as DRL and DRL indicator lit. No city lights or sides.
View 2 RepliesOk so I installed HIDs in my stock housing, I no longer have high beams since I bought the low beam ones only and I think since there is nothing running to where the high beam wire on the oem harness my high beam light on the cluster is stuck on no matter if its on low beams or high beams and its causing my Fogs to not work.

Toyota service said a circuit board was burned out. I searched and found numerous such problems with 04 up to 09 and eventually (in 2012) Toyota initiated an extended warranty to cover replacement of the board.
So I got this car for 750 and I did choose to take on the problems of the car for the miles on it and how much life I've seen these jettas go for I thought it was a pretty good deal runs and drive great except front left wheel bearing. Onto the lighting so found that the low beams only work when the car is in the on position and when the car is started and running the low beams do not work the bulbs are good because I replaced them and they work when the ignition is in the on position and I have check the fuses all seemed to be fine I also noticed that the only lighting I get on my cluster is the two display screens down on the bottom not even rpm/mph cluster? Could any of this be symptoms of faulty headlight switch? Or too much resistance somewhere?? I also notice my high beam switch also doesn't stay on I would have to hold the switch if I wanted to keep it on....
View 2 RepliesI have 87 Ford Ranger. 2.9L 4x4. Before any tips, I have checked the fuses, I have changed the Switch for the lights and the instrument cluster. Still no luck. I don't know if there is something wrong with the wiring. But what I was plan on doing is finding out on one of the Wiring Harnesses on the back of the Cluster which wire turns on the back lights on the cluster. Everything else on the cluster works (Gauges, Highbeam indicator, all the warning sign lights). What wires are what on the wiring harnesses. I was going to just run the wire to its own switch.
View 1 RepliesMy 04.5 GLI's cluster is so dim when illuminated (yes i have the dimmer turned up). I was comparing it to my friends GLS jetta and my other friends GLX GTi (they have a different cluster for me obviously, but same as each other correct?). Unfortunately there are no other 3/2/G's around the area to compare with. i have a new south color match boost gauge, and it is almost twice as bright as the cluster. yet it looked "perfectly matched" in my friends GLS. Are the 3/2/G clusters just straight up dimmer or what can i do to diagnose/fix this problem?

View 6 RepliesThese last few days I've been having issues at startup. Ill put the key into the ignition and it will just click once or twice without anything happening. Power to the radio and instrument cluster will get distributed but the engine wont turn. Then the other day the engine would turn on for a brief moment but turn off within ten seconds. Whats going on?
View 2 RepliesOne of my bulbs sometimes doesn't come on when I turn my lights on. I actually have to hit the dashboard to get it to come on. Does it randomly. Ironically, it's been doing this ever since I pulled the instrument cluster out to change a different bulb. I don't know if I did something when taking it out or putting it back in. Anyway, what I can check to see why it's doing this? It's just one bulb that illuminates the right portion of the tachometer.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 mkiv GLI and my gas gauge, temp gauge, and information display stopped working when the car is running. They work when the car is on auxiliary but not while it's running. The lights all work on the cluster all the time but the needles don't move as soon as the car turns on.

View 6 RepliesI installed an aftermarket HID's on my 06 B6 2.0T, used VAG-COM to disabled DRL's. They work great no issue, expect when I use my high beam.....both HID's go out and I get warning light/message on the dash. I can get them to come back on by turning the lights off and back on.
View 7 RepliesThe car is a 2005.5 GLI (75k mi) w/ EvoTech Stg1 software, GHL stack intake, and an Iridium billet diverter valve.
Well today I was driving and the Malfunction Indicator Light on the dash came on and started blinking. When I stepped on the accelerator, the car felt like it had 1/4 the power and began shaking. The car idles kind of weakly, and feels like it has no power when you step on the gas. Also, when you step on the gas the car will shake. The strength of the shaking depends on how hard I press on the throttle, more throttle = more shaking. There is no shaking when it idles or when I have it cruising, only when accelerating.
I have a 2012 F350 XLT that came out of Canada. So of course the speedometer is in KM. (Large numbers are km and smaller numbers are mph). I am trying to find out if I can simply change out my cluster with a mph cluster???

Bought the DDM Tuning HIDs, 3500k 35w for the fogs, installed with no problems. Also ordered the 5000k 35w for the low beams. Installed them, they flickered on for a second, then nothing. Let the ballasts charge for a while but still nothing. Called DDM, they said my car needs a error code eliminator kit thing later they were at my doorstep. Plugged one side in, flicked on then nothing. Thought both sides might need the code eliminators plugged in...wrong. both flickered on, and then nothing. Tried again, no flicker, both low beam fuses burned. Plugged the regular bulbs in, changed the fuses, lights working again.
I don't know much about electrical, but DDM said i def don't need a relay kit. Do I need a relay kit? Or would putting higher amperage fuses in the place of the original ones work? if so what amperage?
How do I get my DRLs to turn off during the day? if I wanted my headlights when I was driving around during the day, I would turn them on, but I don't, so is there a simple disconnect that turns them off or does I need to replace something?
