I just recently put in an APR chip on my o4 gli from one of their dealers, a day or two later I noticed when I try to accelerate fast my check engine light comes on and the car starts pulling back. That was almost a week ago, today I went back to the same place to get a short shifter, I told them the problem while I was there and they said it was my coil packages. I replaced all 4 and im still having the same problem...

So my Gti 337 it starts but it turns right back off starts and turns right back off people are telling me it's the fuel pump checked it it's not that people are saying its my ECM.

Went to leave the grocery store and as im pulling out I can't get out of 4th gear. After I got home I was able to work it into neutral and I can obtain 2nd, 4th and reverse but the throws aren't straight and it won't go into another gear unless you would force it. There is virtually no side to side travel in the shifter. What could this be? I drive my car hard but I've never missed a shift or grinded the clutch and I wasn't beating on it before it happened.

OKay, so it's not that cold out here but my exhaust still puts out white smoke so it looks like it is winter time. I didn't blow some seals on my Turbo. And how to fix it?

Just installed e-codes in my car about a week or so ago.. When I did, the blinkers started to blink very fast. All the bulbs work fine and everything, and the hazards blink normally as well. Does this normally happen?

My 20th Gti is shaking. So when I accelerate to about 80mph and then let off the gas it the front end will start shaking and once I tap on the gas a little it will stop. Why is it doing this and what is it that has gone bad?

A couple months ago i posted that i had some choppy acceleration. I didn't do anything about it because I was looking for my vag-com cable but couldn't find it. well, i still haven't found it but my problem is getting worse. I have an older version of vag-com 303 and i think that it only supports serial.
Let me also describe my problem and what i have done so far to try and remedy it: basically, when i start to accel from a stop it doesn't accel smooth and feels like it is about to go limp and then all of a sudden i get this burst of accel. it is much more noticeable when accel from a stop but it is also noticeable when pressing the throttle, just does not accel smooth and once in a while, i get this sudden burst of power. And the car has gone into some kind of limp mode twice so far.
Once with my wife and just the other day when i was on the freeway, i lost all power and the EPC light came on and the ESP round arrow thingy. i pulled over, shut off the car and 30 sec later i was able to start driving again and all the lights went out, but of course, choppy accel still persists. the other day when i was accel i heard a POW from underneath. and my wife tells me she has heard it once before. when i remove the cable from the MAF everything goes back to normal. i cleaned the existing MAF, and when that did not work i replaced the MAF and still the same problem.

This started recently and it's definitely out of the norm... When I activate my signal and it switches off, i still hear the ticking but no lights are flashing. it'll go on for about a few sec then shut off, sometimes comes on even when i didn't activate my blinkers. Also when i start my car i feel a vibration from under my feet. Sounds like a knocking noise when i accelerate/turn. But then goes away after about 20 seconds of driving.

Sometimes while driving if i accelerate the car fully the rpms will accelerate way to fast (at least 2x faster than usual) without picking up much speed at all. I can tell that the car is not going to full boost. The problem is the worst in 5th and 6th gear (when the car is relying more on boost im guessing?) and will happen one day and be perfectly fine the next. I just had the car checked for a boost leak about 3 weeks ago so i dont think its that. The car is chipped with uni stage 1+ (20psi) and has a full 3 inch turboback.

When I Accelerate It almost feels like I am fluttering the gas pedal. Its weird on my car now I have revo stage 2, a TIP, 42DD TBE, 4bar FPR.. Do I need to buy a race n75 vavle ?

My friends car just messed up. at a stop sign he heard clanking. then he put it in first to accelerate and the car wouldn't move just rev the rpms like if your on neutral but he can hear clanking around the gearbox or so. what can it be? i told him it cant be his entire tranny or his clutch that something must have came lose. what could it be?

I have trouble starting my GLI sometimes..its usually 1 out of 10 times. It will keep cranking and after a few tries it finally starts if i hit the gas a little bit too...

I bought my gti about a month ago and every time I warm it up in the morning or any time it has been sitting over a long period of time the rpms sit at about 1300 until about a minute and it goes under 1k ... I am not to familiar with this issue.

I got my 2005 jetta gli used with about 41000 mi on it. Ever since i've had it, when i accelerate on the highway at 50 mph or faster, the car almost feels bouncy throughout, what that is.

I have a 2004 Jetta gli 1.8turbo my car has 97,000 miles and the last oil change i did was with 0w-40 oil, can this cause my check engline light to come on and 2 cylinder misfires? should i change oil to 5w- or 10w- asap?

I have a 03 20th ae gti with about 84k just replaced the coil packs. driving on the freeway then power just goes away, press on gas and nothing. limp it off the freeway. Then it starts to die at idle and hardly turns over. car is pretty much stock. new clutch at 75k.

I have a 20th anni GTI. I was driving down the road about a week ago going about 50 in 5th gear. all of a sudden when i go to give it gas my car starts lagging and the check engine light starts flashing on and off. I used a check engine light tester to figure out the possible problems and found that cylinder 2 misfired.
Spark plugs could have been the problem so i replace them. Nothing changed. so then i thought it could be one of the coils so i switch 1 and 2 aroud to see if there was a misfire on 1 now. still cylinder 2 misfired. I am starting to thnk it may be my catalytic converter. There's a funny spell coming from my exhaust. Like fire crackers or rotten eggs maybe.
