View 3 RepliesI f I have an airbag light on in my car... How do i get it to go off. Can i vag-com it off.
View 2 RepliesSo I bought my 20th with the airbag light on... Never really bothered me till now as I'm tying to fix everything that's wrong with it. I vagcom'd it and it said driver side seat buckle was the fault. Looked under the seat and it seems the white plug isn't plugged in. I haven't taken anything apart yet to get a closer look, but could that be the problem? Does that plug actually plug into something or is it just a loose plug?
View 9 RepliesRecently I installed my NewSouthPerformance boost gauge that sits on the steering column and a couple weeks later i noticed my horn stopped working. I didnt cut any wires so i know it couldnt be that. I pulled the fuse out and put it back in, now it works but sounds like a old man with extreme lung problems. Now my Airbag light came on and how to "fix" it.
View 8 RepliesSo the light came on the other day, took the car to the stealers for the 60,000km service and just figured they would just clear the fault code. Turns out i needed a new airbag harness in and under the drivers seat.
View 3 RepliesI have a problem with my vw jetta vr6, the airbag light is always on. I changed the battery and few days later the airbag light came on. I drove my car to the dealer and they found out that my driver airbag unit has a lot of pressure on it, so they told me that the airbag needs to be replaced.
View 5 RepliesAn '03 GTI 20th AE with an airbag light on. Took it to dealer this morning and they told me it was the driver's side seat belt sensor..
1) DIY for opening up the seatbelt clip to take a look?
2) Will having the airbag light on disable all airbags from firing in case of an accident?
So today I get in my car and the air bag light is on solid, no blinking. I scanned it with my scanner and it says no codes Any body else have this happen? I got a bad feeling about this light
View 10 RepliesAirbag indicator light is on. Why that could be?
View 6 RepliesI just had this red flashing light next to the brake sensor light in the dashboard turn on when i turned on my car tonight.
View 4 RepliesOkay I just installed a boost gauge in my car and when I cranked it up it said airbag fault and the airbag light is on now.. What it could be?
View 13 RepliesMy car is 2000 GTI 1.8T. When you put the key in ignition and turn it( not to start car, but get all the instrument lights to come on), after 15 seconds there is a "beep" noise and the oil light flashes.
Vag-Com doesn't pick up any faults, and when you start the car and start driving the light doesn't come on, and I am talking 600 miles 5 times in the last month!!!
Only when the key is in Ignition on position does it beep. Also recently the brake light has started coming on as you drive. It flashes and beeps only when you driving! Vag does not pick up this fault either...
I have a 20th GTI and the Temp light is flashing. The car does not overheat, and runs normally. The temp gauge acts normally.
View 6 RepliesWhen I am driving around, my brake light will appear flashing for several seconds then it goes off. What is that about?
View 8 RepliesAirbag light came on the other day while out on an errand. Take it to work and pull the codes. I got a low voltage code and a driver seat belt buckle code "00059" maybe I'm trying to recall but unsure. I have a pair of seat belt buckles out of a mk5 Jetta. Do these will plug into my mk4 by chance?
View 2 RepliesDriving the other night I ran drove over a pot hole going about forty pulled up to the stop light and my car starts to make funny noises, barley got the car moving again but managed to get home. I hooked my computer up to it and it says misfire at cylinder 2 and 4.
View 14 RepliesSometimes my battery light will come on. It started happening about a few weeks ago. At the time i was on the parkway so i couldn't pull over and it was flashing a few times then stopped. It started doing it more often, now it did it around town so i would slow down and i could hear the belt squealing. It just happened again and this time my car sorta lost power but only for a second. Now my question is, how would i check if its
a) alternator,
b) the belt or
c) the tensioner?
Or, I won't know til i start messing with it?
I have a 20th anni GTI. I was driving down the road about a week ago going about 50 in 5th gear. all of a sudden when i go to give it gas my car starts lagging and the check engine light starts flashing on and off. I used a check engine light tester to figure out the possible problems and found that cylinder 2 misfired.
Spark plugs could have been the problem so i replace them. Nothing changed. so then i thought it could be one of the coils so i switch 1 and 2 aroud to see if there was a misfire on 1 now. still cylinder 2 misfired. I am starting to thnk it may be my catalytic converter. There's a funny spell coming from my exhaust. Like fire crackers or rotten eggs maybe.
So I was exiting the freeway the other day. It was a long gradual sweeping left hand turn. And I was doing about 80 mph and the traction control light started flashing and the car started to hesitate a bit. What this could be. Btw I have a 2005 gli intake, exhaust, chipped. Not lowered stock bbs rc's...
View 1 RepliesJust the other day, I'm driving along and flashed my lights at another car so they can make a left turn into a parking lot. No big deal. However, when doing that, I noticed a buzzing noise when I pulled back the lever to engage the lights.
After I got home, I tested things out and found:
With my Euroswitch, I don't have any lights on during the day (no DRLs, etc). This is when this buzzing noise occurs. As it was getting dark out, I also noticed that when I pull the lever back to engage the high beams (i.e., to flash them) the dashboard would light up (like if I turned on the lights normally).
Now, if I have the park lights or headlights on already (which includes the dashboard), and flash the high beams, the buzzing noise does NOT happen.
It also doesn't happen when I push the lever forward to enable the high beams fully. The buzzing sound seems to come from the lower left, around my left knee area or near the steering column.
Why this is happening, and what the cause might be? What is the possible part that needs to be replaced?
I have a 2004 Jetta GLI 1.8T 6-speed. Seems like the old signature is gone.
Car is making a clacking sound, and when i press on the gas to rev it several time my CEL flashes. pulled each wiring harness for my coil pack, and they all seem to be good still. What may be wrong? maybe spark plugs? if that was the case wouldn't pulling the wiring harness from each one pinpoint a certain plug that is loose? i changed my plugs last week, but had no problems until today when i started my car even drove it last night with no issues..???
