View 6 RepliesI f I have an airbag light on in my car... How do i get it to go off. Can i vag-com it off.
View 2 RepliesSo I bought my 20th with the airbag light on... Never really bothered me till now as I'm tying to fix everything that's wrong with it. I vagcom'd it and it said driver side seat buckle was the fault. Looked under the seat and it seems the white plug isn't plugged in. I haven't taken anything apart yet to get a closer look, but could that be the problem? Does that plug actually plug into something or is it just a loose plug?
View 9 RepliesRecently I installed my NewSouthPerformance boost gauge that sits on the steering column and a couple weeks later i noticed my horn stopped working. I didnt cut any wires so i know it couldnt be that. I pulled the fuse out and put it back in, now it works but sounds like a old man with extreme lung problems. Now my Airbag light came on and how to "fix" it.
View 8 RepliesSo the light came on the other day, took the car to the stealers for the 60,000km service and just figured they would just clear the fault code. Turns out i needed a new airbag harness in and under the drivers seat.
View 3 RepliesI have a problem with my vw jetta vr6, the airbag light is always on. I changed the battery and few days later the airbag light came on. I drove my car to the dealer and they found out that my driver airbag unit has a lot of pressure on it, so they told me that the airbag needs to be replaced.
View 5 RepliesThe other night on my 337 the airbag light turned on which is located in the rpm spedometer. It wont turn off and i dont know what i need to do in order to fix it.
View 3 RepliesAn '03 GTI 20th AE with an airbag light on. Took it to dealer this morning and they told me it was the driver's side seat belt sensor..
1) DIY for opening up the seatbelt clip to take a look?
2) Will having the airbag light on disable all airbags from firing in case of an accident?
So today I get in my car and the air bag light is on solid, no blinking. I scanned it with my scanner and it says no codes Any body else have this happen? I got a bad feeling about this light
View 10 RepliesFinally decided to rain in CA today and noticed after I got to work that my EPC light had turned on. Car doesn't wanna boost and has very minimal/close to none power.
View 4 RepliesThe car is a 2005.5 GLI (75k mi) w/ EvoTech Stg1 software, GHL stack intake, and an Iridium billet diverter valve.
Well today I was driving and the Malfunction Indicator Light on the dash came on and started blinking. When I stepped on the accelerator, the car felt like it had 1/4 the power and began shaking. The car idles kind of weakly, and feels like it has no power when you step on the gas. Also, when you step on the gas the car will shake. The strength of the shaking depends on how hard I press on the throttle, more throttle = more shaking. There is no shaking when it idles or when I have it cruising, only when accelerating.
Okay I just installed a boost gauge in my car and when I cranked it up it said airbag fault and the airbag light is on now.. What it could be?
View 13 RepliesAirbag light came on the other day while out on an errand. Take it to work and pull the codes. I got a low voltage code and a driver seat belt buckle code "00059" maybe I'm trying to recall but unsure. I have a pair of seat belt buckles out of a mk5 Jetta. Do these will plug into my mk4 by chance?
View 2 RepliesToday I got my car inspected (05 gli) and after the inspection, when I was driving home and went to a gas station. When I turned my car off and got out the radio (monsoon) stayed on. Then later when I opened my door the dome light did not come on. Passenger door turns light on and shuts radio off. I believe it is a door sensor? Where is this located and how do I change it or any other possibilities of what it could be? I did some research, and I have no issues locking the doors (security light blinks) and the passenger door works fine. Hoping there is a way to fix this without buying a whole new lock mechanism.
View 6 RepliesLast night, my 2008 Prius was hit from the rear. The bumper was damaged as well as a few starches on the hatch. However the latch for the hatch was move forward so the hatch no longer latches. Also during the collision, my daughter's heavy backpack was throw against the back of the passenger seat with enough force to hurt her back.
The airbag warning light remains on along with the dash indicator saying the airbag is off. Does mean all the airbags are disabled? Can this be reset? The car will be professionally repaired but I still need to drive it until I can get it repaired.
Got a limited service campaign letter for right front seat sensor problem causing the AIR BAG OFF indicator to illuminate. Apparently certain conditions can turn on the Air Bag Off indicator. Question is, will the indicator turn off when the engine is turned off and restarted? Or once it is tripped it stays on whenever the ignition is on?
This car is turning into a pain, having to take it to the dealer for too many problems. Tempted to do nothing about this latest campaign, unless the light stays on.
Every time I start the truck, the Passenger Side Airbag light is on, which is saying the airbag is turned "OFF." I have to push the button to turn the light off, which turns the airbag "ON." How do I reset this to where the airbag is "ON" until I turn it "OFF?"
View 8 Repliesi just recently put in 35W 8000K hi/lo HID's in my GLI the problem is for some reason on my instrument cluster it says my hi beams are one which they are not and it is only lightly illuminated. if u turn on the hi beams the hi beam switch on the cluster turns on and gets brighter so is their any way i could have the switch completely turned off like it was with stock bulbs?
View 1 RepliesOK, maybe I'm just spooking myself, but I've been getting poorer gas mileage than usual as of late, like 4 to 5 mpg less. I used to get 30+ when I took my car to work, but lately I've been getting 25 to 26 mpg. I calculated it out and it seemed less still, though I didn't do a very accurate calculation.
The other day, I felt like my ESP was kicking in early because my tires are getting a bit old and bald, so I turned it off for my drive home. I immediately noticed that I felt like more power was available (though that was probably my mind playing tricks) and my average MPG for the trip shot up to the 28.5 mpg range with some spirited driving.
Where the ESP or ASR has caused lower MPG? I replaced my MAF sensor recently because it had gone bad, or at least I was fairly certain it had, but now I'm not sure. I also have coil-packs due in the next few thousand miles or so as well, but this seems sporadic. I diagnosed the MAF (which the car was getting around 22MPG before the change) by disconnecting it. It shot up to the 30MPG range with it disconnected, but thinking back, my CEL as well as the ESP light came on. I'm wondering if my ECU turned off the ESP with the MAF disconnected and that is what increased my mileage, not the bad MAF...
My 2005 VW GLI has a fuel smell when I turn on the car ... I think it might be running rich or something I don't know.. All I know is I think the fuel and air mixture is not right ... What should I do? what should I check? will a re-tune do anything?
View 2 RepliesWhen I turn my wheel, i hear this sound like im rubbing my lip but not as loud.... Is this something I should be worried about... or am I just rubbing my fender lining?
