I have a 05 gli and leaking water from drive side visor towards the sun roof. Would the drain be clogged from the sunroof. My seat is getting wet....
View 7 RepliesI just got my 337 a few days ago and I got out today after a short drive and smelled coolant. Immediately thought the worst but luckily I found this hose to be leaking. What hose this is its on the left side just about the throttle.
View 11 RepliesSo i have a 2005 mkiv TR GLI. I had thought that the car leaks water at the front passenger side however it was a little drip, until last night. It rained heavily last night and I got in my car to find a good amount of water under my front passenger side mat, nowhere else. I left no windows open, and it looks to be running down between the side of the dash, and the inside of the door on the passenger side.
View 10 RepliesI replaced my timing belt, tensioner and water pump last weekend because I noticed I was leaking coolant from the water pump. The other day I popped my hood after driving and notice the reservoir bubbling a little bit because it sounded like the coolant was boiling and the line coming into the top of the reservoir felt hotter than normal. I opened the cap slowly and never heard any pressure release. I figured it was air in the line somewhere so I tried to work the air out. It sounded like the air came out and I took it for a drive and I finally heard pressure release after 3 different attempts. I opened the cap later when it was cool and noticed that the coolant was still at the original level.
Then the next day I was driving and came to a stop and noticed white smoke coming out when I gave it gas. It still drove fine though. I pulled over and opened the cap slowly but didn't hear any pressure release. I put in a little bit of radiator sealant and it seemed to do the trick.
The car has never overheated and there's no oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. The heat also seems to be working correctly and my fans come.
We have had 6-8 inches of rain in the last month. the last several days I have notice a lot of water in the passenger side floorboard as well as behind the seat. the headliner around the sunroof is also saturated on that side of the car. After several hours investigating and reading posts on this forum it is safe to say that the drain on that side is clogged. I am a new VW owner and am ignorant as to where the drains are at??? also, how to "rod" or unclog the drain line that runs down a or c pillar?

I cleaned it up thinking the sunroof may not have been closed all the way at the dealership when they washed it. I drove it today in the rain and the front passenger side is wet again next to the console and near the seat. Where are the drains located at?
View 8 RepliesAfter researching this for weeks, I think I've found that the pollen filter seal is worn and that's why I'm having water leaking onto my front passenger side floor. My car alarm has been going off randomly too. Every time it rains the floor is soaked. It's not the sunroof drain plugs. I already tried that. I need to fix this ASAP!!! How do I fix a worn pollen filter seal? I have a caulk gun ready!

View 8 RepliesJust want to make sure I'm naming the part correctly. It's a pump that between the radiator and the block. It stays on after the car is turned off. This is on a 2005 GLI 5 speed tip.
Lately, its not turning on. If it does, it's just for a brief moment and then turns off. After some searching, I've read post of other asking about by-passing it. Would that be a benefit? What's gained from that? I understand the pump is on while the engine is running, does it provide additional cooling? I'm planning on checking it out this weekend and wondering if it could be rebuilt? Could you guys indicate which vendor on the web has the best price?
My passenger side blinker on the quarter panel has become filled with water and moisture. What is the easiest way to access the cover and to remove it? can it be done from the outside and just popped off?

I happened to look behind the passenger side seat and there was 3in. of water on the floor so i looked up at the sunroof and there wasn't any stains or anything from water as well as the doors windows everything... View 5 RepliesMy area has been hammered by rain for the past several weeks and I've noticed water leaking in around my driver's side headliner and down my column. I suspect it is the moonroof drain hole that is causing the problem, but when I pour water into the hole it drains out of the bottom of the car like it should be.
I want to check the drain nipple under the column trim to see if the hose is damaged there and leaking, but I'm not sure how to remove it. I've read about the Sante Fe trim removal and it sounds like you should just be able to pull on it from the top and work your way down, but I want to check as I don't want to start breaking clips to "test" out if it works.
Is the column held in by friction clips that should come loose if I pull with enough pressure toward the rear-view mirror?
I've got a 20th and the backlighting on sunroof control is not lit. I haven't really checked fuses or anything yet, I plan on doing that tomorrow when it's light out.

View 3 RepliesI picked up my beloved 20th last week. It has this feature that when you shut the car off it closes the windows and sunroof. It's very annoying. Is this an aftermarket item that is doing this or is it a stock program? I don't think the car has an aftermarket alarm but I'm not 100% positive.
View 20 RepliesThe doors on my 2005 crew cab are leaking water. Its happened once before, I fixed it by resetting the main seal around the doors. Now this tropical storm had them leaking again. The rear doors are leaking from the top and getting the head liner wet, and the front left door is leaking a little bit onto the middle pillar Guage and down onto my leg.
Is it time for new door seals? My 01 has never had this problem so im not entirely sure what to do.
Apparently, VW assumes that if you have a sunroof, you must be willing to tolerate rainwater dripping on your front seats and running inside the headliner. I can accept almost anything, but this is beyond belief.
I have seen a mention or two of water on the floor (and I didn't even check for that), maybe a leaking sunroof before, but I never thought it would happen to me.
