I cant seem to diagnosis this and its driving me crazy. I've got a 05 GLI w standard 9007 headlights. All the lights work (fogs, drl, lows) except passenger high beam. The bulb is NOT burnt out either.....

So my 20th runs completely fine until rain is involved.. Once it rains and I bring my rpms high or use my turbo it almost staples out and the gas doesn't work.. Also I notice it shoots out a puff of white smoke and my. Turbo doesn't spool at the way.. It basically tries and just does something like psh psh psh psh like second spools? Could water get in my. Turbo or something.

I replaced the low beam and high beam on my Subaru, now the low beam is very dim and the high beam doesn't work. Careful not to touch the bulb.

So I got this car for 750 and I did choose to take on the problems of the car for the miles on it and how much life I've seen these jettas go for I thought it was a pretty good deal runs and drive great except front left wheel bearing. Onto the lighting so found that the low beams only work when the car is in the on position and when the car is started and running the low beams do not work the bulbs are good because I replaced them and they work when the ignition is in the on position and I have check the fuses all seemed to be fine I also noticed that the only lighting I get on my cluster is the two display screens down on the bottom not even rpm/mph cluster? Could any of this be symptoms of faulty headlight switch? Or too much resistance somewhere?? I also notice my high beam switch also doesn't stay on I would have to hold the switch if I wanted to keep it on....

I have a 2003 AE and my keyless entry doesn't work. I have tried all the instructions that i can find on the internet and my manual. I replaced the key in my fob and had a locksmith check and its sending the 315hz signal just like it should. before i take it to the dealer is there anything else i can do? is it my car and how and what do i need to check? what part of the car accepts the signal?

I just bought a 2013 GLI Autobahn 6 speed manual. Ive owned a 6 speed Mazda Speed6 before but I'm having issues figuring out when to shift as this transmission seems different than any other stick I've owned. Usually my shifts would be right around 30 for 3rd, 40 for 4th, 50 for 5th, etc. Seems with this its a little higher and it doesn't want 4th until 45, 5th until 55.
But it seems like at 55 The car is telling me to shift to 5th but if I do it almost doesn't want it and feels like it struggles. Same thing in 6th, I don't feel right until I'm going 70 but that seems too fast to be first going into 6th since in 5th I am over 3k rpms and in my Speed6 I was in 6th at 60 mph. Feel like I am constantly in between 5th and 6th on the highway and its annoying.
Just curious what other are experiencing and when they tend to shift under normal driving.

I just picked up a Black 20th tonight. All stock with 48,000 miles. I'll get some pics up asap. But for now I'm gonna be lurking around trying to work out the kinks of the car. The Temp gauge doesn't work and the passenger door only opens from the inside when first unlocked.

The car will start up fine, run for 10 - 20 min and stall. I will try and restart it but i takes atleast 7 or 8 sec of the car just turning over before it slowly fires up. Which results in a high idle 1200-1400 rpm and the car stalling another 5 min later.
Ive fixed my o2 sensor the wire was cut, replaced the fuel filter, and got a eurojet lower pcv hose for the vacuum leak i found.

I have 2007 sante fe. I just replaced the low beam,now the low beam doesn't work at all. I checked the fuse .. Just fine checked the wiring harness and plug no broken wire, no corrosion....

I had the heater core flushed, inspection done, a tie rod end replaced, and both low beams replaced to pass inspection in January. The driver's side low beam stopped working after a week.
When I would hit a bump in the road, it would start working for a while till I hit another bump and then it would go off. Now the driver's side low beam never works.
I could have gone back to the mechanic, but it's an 80 mile round trip(they used to be a lot cheaper than the dealership). Now that the weather is starting to get better, do you think it's a simple problem that I can fix myself? I don't want to waste 80 miles worth of gas just to have them charge me for something that they already charged me to fix. The next time I'm due an oil change I may go there and demand that they fix the light too, but I'm not going to waste 80 miles of gas just for the light.

i just recently put in 35W 8000K hi/lo HID's in my GLI the problem is for some reason on my instrument cluster it says my hi beams are one which they are not and it is only lightly illuminated. if u turn on the hi beams the hi beam switch on the cluster turns on and gets brighter so is their any way i could have the switch completely turned off like it was with stock bulbs?

So i just purchased a 2008 R32 "united grey" US modelit has a clean 65,000 miles.... upon driving it home i flicked on the brights after about 10 seconds they automatically dimmed and the bulb indicator light popped on i researched and was confused about so many combated responses, and gathered that the brights operated off the same bulb as the low beams which both work "HID'S OEM" and that the two inside useless lights are flash to pass and can be enabled using VAG COM.....
But back to the task at hand i lined up to a wall and put my brights on and the passenger doesn't change in intensity or even do anything but stay on low beam my drivers side works fine! i checked fuses and saw none that looked blown but also didn't know if the brights were even on a separate fuse nor what " numeric position" it would be in?
Do I just need a new OEM bulb? new fuse? I haven't tried swapping the bulbs yet from drivers to passenger vise veresa... nor do i even know for sure if high beams work off of the same light, or if there is a mysterious spot for the highbeam bulb i not see

Why I have one headlight gone dim, high beam will not work. This just happened about a week ago and I changed the bulb and it's still the same.

First off i couldn't get the car into reverse to back out of a convenience store and then i let off the clutch to try and pump it again and the car just dies. drove just fine up until i parked. Now when i try to move through gears it sounds like it's shifting but the car doesn't move. The car does have a stronger clutch and unitronic chip if that would have to do with anything.

So my parking brake doesn't engage when the lever is pulled. The light lights up on the dash saying the parking brake is engaged but the brake I not engaged. It hasn't been a huge problem for me since my Jetta is a 6-speed but I would like to fix it some time soon. Looking for a DIY? I did a quick search and didn't find anything really.

I have a problem with my 20th anniversary gti. My 1st and 2nd gear won't work. Every other gear works fine, the gears never grind before or any unusually noise. I was pulling off my driveway and they just stop working. Even when the car it's on I can move my shifter to 1st and 2nd without the clutch and nothing happens.

So I picked up a 20th today. The clutch has 30k on it its an oem luk. Drove fine most of the ride home then i went to shift and it wouldn't grab. Got it towed home. trans goes into all gears fine. When you put it in first and try to go it starts to roll but just makes a grinding type noise and doesnt go into gear. I didn't hear any chatter until maybe 10 miles before this happened. I still have pressure in the clutch pedal as well. when the car is in neutral running there isnt any noise which makes me think it isnt the throw out bearing.

Air condition will not work in my car. The A/c button will light up but will not do anything. The fan speed will only work on high and not on the other settings. I mean when I set it on 1-3 it will not kick on the fan. When I switch it to 4 it will kick the fan on but no A/C still even at that setting.

My headlight bulb is out on the left side. Tt's just a regular bulb, not HID's or anything. I got a new bulb and it still doesn't work. I checked the wiring and it seems intact. The other lights which are connected in the housing work fine.

it all started out like this. i was unable to go into reverse took it to a shop when first and second were good. Came out of the shop after inspection and now i can shift into first or second gear but not the rest, its stuck in those two and they do not work. do i need a new trans or is it a shift fork and or linkage?

Car ran perfectly normal. come back out start the car, the EPC light comes on, and my gas pedal doesn't work. Doesn't do a THING...first 3 times i killed it and re-started it, the rpms shot up to 4500 for a second then fell to around 1100 and stayed there. now i start it and it just hangs at 1100. car has 47k miles on it, a 3in DP 2.5in magnaflow catback, short ram intake, TIP, 710N DV, stock N75. Only thing I can think of is TPS but I don't have access to a vag com.
